Amazing pencil drawings of LOTR characters

Postby Angmar85 » Thu Oct 23, 2014 1:42 am

This guy from Crawley in West Sussex has created a series of four pencil drawings as a Christmas present for his son. They are pretty impressive. He's drawn Frodo, Gollum, Aragorn and Legolas. I'm pretty sure he takes orders but at the very least, they are worth a look just because they're so detailed.

Great technical pencil work, but the images lack imagination.

Yep. If I wanted to see the characters looking just like the movies...

It's a problem I have with some art... why copy a picture EXACTLY. Yes, well done if you can learn to be so accurate with facial features from it, but after one or two you really need to work on your own versions. Otherwise... hey, just look at the original photo? To be honest, the pictures aren't even that amazing, nothing special. (Sorry if the guy happens to see this... just work on your own stuff and it'll be great, I'm sure!:)) I sound right critical, oh dear. :P
