Any chess players out there? I just got the FotR official chess set. I must say it is really kewl! The pawns are Sam (I think),and a Moria Orcs.

Must say that I think they messed up on the Rooks for the dark, it should have been the cavetroll, not the Isengard Orcs.

But all in all it is a nice chess set. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Really sad for me: FOTR Legolas and two TTT soda cans. That's it. I plan to get the Strider's Ranger Sword and scabbard very, VERY soon. (P.S. Where can I get it for cheap?)
Oh my God!!!
After reading your lists, I don't so much feel like posting my!
But I've got almost everythings that's written, all soundtracks and of course all the DVD's, including special editions and documentaries.
I also bought Hadhafang - Arwens sword, a couple of weeks ago! Love it!

Edit: LOL! Forgot my Smeagol statue, my calendars, maps, cards, all the latest board games, including LOTR Trivia, LOTR Board Game, The Hobbit, LOTR Risk, all LOTR PS2 games, plus the Hobbit PS2 game. Also have a neat collection of framed posters and pictures. That should be it. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Eru_Iluvatar: Do you seriously own all that? Holy Moses!

Quanitz:

Yes, I do own all that. There are not many swords left and I will have them all. If UC comes out with all they say they will, then I have 4 to go, not counting the 2 I have on order. Now Easton Press is coming out with 3 collector's editions movie books, i.e., about the movies and a deluxe edition of "The Complete Guide To Middle-Earth".

But if you were to ask me what is my most prized item, it would have to be the 1st. impression deluxe edition of "The Lord Of The Rings" from Harper Collins. They are harder to find then an Orc with good teeth.
Regardless of what you have keep them in a safe, dry place and if possible in plastic bags and or Boxes.

Money is a problem for a lot of us but we find a way by selling other things. But I totally understand.

A pretty meagre amount of items, actually.

Toys: I have Toy Vault's Nocturnal Barrow-Wight, Evil Spirit of Angmar, The Barrow-Wight, action figures and another one simply called The Wight action figure, for a grand total of 4 Lord of the Rings 6-inch action figures.

Movies: I only have the VHS version of the 1978 Ralph Bakshi cartoon, lol.

Video Games: I have The Two Towers game for GameCube.

Books: The December 1984 version of The Silmarillion, a 1976 harcover edition of the Tolkien Companion, the old Hobbit and Lord of the Rings boxed set from the 70's with the gold-colored box, the 1966 version of The Tolkien Reader, and Unfinished Tales.

I intend to get much more, to slake my thirst for Tolkien-related items.

Actually, I'd probably get The Bakshi film on DVD, as well, just to have it in that medium. I think that the film was alright for 1978, even though the background artwork was rushed in some parts and the visualisation of some of the characters left much to be desired (Boromir inappropriately looks like a stereotype of a Viking and Treebeard looked cheesy, I thought). Otherwise it was alright for its time; it could've been worse. It certainly wasn't as bad as the Rankin/Bass Return of the King (The Hobbit was alright, though). The Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings visualisation and special effects are, however, superior to the Bakshi version, obviously. I definitely plan on getting the extended versions of all of his films on DVD as soon as I get the chance, before getting the Bakshi version of Lord of the Rings, or any of the old Tolkien cartoons.

Off the topic of collectibles (sort-of) actually enjoy all the cartoons. I have The Hobiit (Rankin/Bass, The Lord of the Rings (Bakshi) and Return of the King (Rankin/Bass) all on DVD. Just got them actually not long ago. I kept checking them out at the movie store and library, and then I saw them at Wal-Mart and snatch 'em up.
Anyway, I think the have a sort of nostalgic quality and for 1978 period they are pretty cool. I mean they really didn't have alot to work with. I rather liked the Bass Return of the King. I know cheif complaints about it not having Legolas & Gimli, and agree there. But I like the cheesy songs and its still LOTR so I love it. As I love all things LOTR. The Bashki one is not my first pick only because after a point the animation looks like real movie actors with crayon on top of them or something. But as I said before, it is LOTR so I still love it. Everyone who has made movies, writing or anything else from Tolkien's world has to imagine it in their own way. So I admire everyone's vision, no matter how cheesy and of course it is. Good 'ol college try never hurts. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>
