I think it's getting anoying that we can't se each others art any more, so I thought that we could all just put a link to our pictures right here. I'll just start then, and then I hope that there will be many other links befor long.

http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6793

http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6744

http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6721

http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6711

http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6715

Good idea AC! (BTW, very nice work. I particularly like Gandalf and Frodo, and you've done a great job on the hair. One tiny suggestion - soften the lines, esp. on their mouths.

I finally got up the nerve to submit a piece, not that it does much good at the moment, but I do have the URL:

http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6932

I put up Boromir first, if I survive this I'll post a few more :-)

Well, I have about one hundred pics in the gallery, so that posting the links would be ... difficult. But I'll try and find the link to my main gallery.

This a good idea Ac. A nice thing to have around while the gallery is down. The only thing I ahve in the gallery right now is this: http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=6669
I put it up while the gallery was still up so it ahs comments, but I'd like to know whay you guys think. (plus it will give your thread a bump <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> ) I am working on a sketch of (book) Arwen that I will link to once it's up.

Again great idea Ac. I like your Arwen drawing and the hands in the drawing of Frodo are great. I usualy hide hands when I draw people because I am terrible at drawing them.

(Edit: I just noticed you already commented on this AC thank you.)

Hi smIsle, I tried to comment on your artwork in the gallery, but for some reason I can't get this computer to display the page properly.

Anyway, I like the choice of subject of the first. I think that's the only drawing I have seen so far of JRRT as a young man, and it works well in pencil (being based on a b/w photograph). In places it could need some more contrasted shading, but all in all it's a nice drawing.

The second I found even more pleasing. There are far too few depictions of Faramir out there (mercifully few inspired by the movie-thing called Faramir, which is the good side of it), and I'm glad about each original one I see. Again, a little more shading could be used to make the figure more plastic and intense. The hands are drawn very nicely. Good work.

Khorazir, thanks!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Yeah, I know... It's so hard to make the shading come out dark enough with #2s<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>

I darkened them in MIC(kinda-sorta-not-really-like photoshop) And they do look much better, but since that is not how they look in real life...

Here's a link if you want to see-
http://www.tumtumtree.net/artPages/faramir.htm

Hi! It's been a while since I was last here.
Not quite sure what's up with the gallery - I was used to seeing the "new art" bit, but it's not there anymore! (or is it?)

Well, my latest piece, I am happy with - because it's the first piece of finished illustration in watercolour, that I've done for literally years! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
It is my imagining of a ring-free moment of Gollum/Smeagol happiness, and is entitled "Juicysweet". <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Commentses welcome, precious!
http://www.tolkienonline.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=7391

Great pics everyone! Seems like I'm the only one that can't draw living things here or anywhere else... *sobs* Guess I have to stick with scenery and architecture. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

I submitted two pictures a few days ago, but they're not officially in the gallery yet. Wow They are really great Evanescent. I like the first one the bedst. I've tried to draw castels too, but I'm not verry good at it. But these are great. I would have added comments to them, but this is will have to do, since they aren't officially in the gallery yet. I hope you'll add comments to some of my drawings.
Evanescent- I really like your pics- <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> You may not be able to draw people and such... But you are awesome when it comes to buildings and landscapes. Mine look terrible!

Don't feel too bad, have you seen Ted Nasmith's work? His landscapes and buildings look real- they're so good... But his people are, for the most part, um... not so hot<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

I think Nasmith's people aren't *that* bad, but his ringwraiths are a bit umm... uhh... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>

Thanks for the comments; I got the gallery links put in. I'll comment on your works of art now. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> The Minas Ithil picture is slightly lighter than the actual, and the other is slightly darker. I'm pretty dumb with scanners and image editing, so the scans depend on the scanner's whims. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Hi Sorceress, I've left a comment.
By the way, I think the head on this one is closer to proper ratios with regard to where the eyes are situated (mid face). It really improves the appearance! (I had a look at the other two in your gallery, and thought they were longer in the jaw)
<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>
Thankyou for you kind comments about mine too, btw.
<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Hi there everyone. I love the gallery, it's the whole reason I signed up with TORC to begin with <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> I just can't wait till the whole thing is up and running.

All that I see has inspired me to start doing some drawing again. I really admire a lot of your work and enjoy spending hours looking through everything. Anyway... I started drawing some stuff out the other week, I even got so far as to dust of my old acrylic brushes (we'll see how far that gets <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> ) So I did some portraits, some profiles and some odds and ends, I've posted one of them here and I would love to know what you think.

The Waning of the Evenstar

I got a little impatient with the background and threw in an existing one by Ted Nasmith in photoshop to fill up the spaces, Which I plan on replacing. I beleive it's ok to do that as long as you don't sell it, right?.... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

I think for the second round of this one, which will hopefully be in color, I will do a background of Gondor. Who know's where it will go from here.
