Are there any references to the hair of Feanor and his sons though?

Perhaps, and this is just me thinking out loud, that this group of elves cut their hair shorter than their distant kin as either a sigil of their House or a mark of their oath?

Neither sick nor dead - just pregnant! ^___^

Incidentally, know the picture of Feanor's house, with pregnant Nerdanel? I drew it the very day I *got* pregnant. ^^

I'm having pretty bad morning (and noon and afternoon and evening) sickness, which makes drawing less than pleasant. But I hope I'll be over that soon...

Oh Jenny! congratulations!!! How far along are you? (I guess I just ougta go back and check the nerdanel pic<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>).

so, you're being "creative" in a different way. That's okay!

My sympathies on the "morning" sickness (a misnomer if ever there was one-- morning, afternoon, evening- it's not picky). Having given birth to five children, and going thru "morning sickness" with all of them, you have my full sympathies!

(Wonders if it's time to go into personal stories of babies and tubes of paint... maybe not yet...<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>)

It would be awfully creative for a guy to have given birth to five children<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>.

Yes, I'm a plump, middle aged, mom of five. If you clicked the link in the art challenge thread, you'd have seen my elder teen daughter's "death of arwen" on the page. She's my artist (and refuses to allow me to upload any of her images to the Gallery.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> )

Congratulations, Jenny! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Seems that we have a counterpart of the ancient fertility goddesses in Tolkien's mythology... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> Hope you get over the so-called morning sickness soon (thank goodness I didn't have it very bad when I was expecting my kids) and, hope that everything goes well all the way.

I uploaded some of Jenny's and some of Catherine Chmiel's images to the Gallery. All the "featured art" used on the front page comes from the Gallery, so if it's not in there, it won't be "Featured".

I do not select the images used. I think Jon or Ted select them. The Chmiel and Dolfen ones obviously caught their attention.

If you wonder why your favorite image is never used in the featured section, be sure it's uploaded. It's a good idea to ask permission of the artist before uploading, too, out of courtesy. (I emailed Chmiel and requested to use her images in the article, plus the follow up one on one article, which is how those images got into the Gallery).

Aaaah, I see. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

As for how I'm feeling, I'm fine (finally). Morning sickness seems to have stopped mostly now, and I'm working again--on commissions only right now, though. So much was left lying around unfinished during the last six weeks; I don't think there'll be a lot new Silmarillion art over the next few months. My commissions schedule is a veritable nightmare. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

A few. I only put my best pics on the web, and for most of my commissions pics, I simply don't have the same sort of attachment to them that I have with my private projects. I'm told that it never shows, though, thankfully. .)

The good thing about art*work* is that paid and commissioned work is still satisfying, more so than a morning at school, and definietely more relaxing! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

I've 'honored' :: cough :: Jenny by using her Coming of Fingolfin for this week's caption contest (go to the main page: www.tolkienonline.com ).

A few people who posted captions know the story quite well, as should be obvious:).

Check it out!
