Question That Is Really Bothering Me...

Postby Lancaeriel » Mon Oct 14, 2013 2:53 pm

First of all, I wasn't sure where to put this so if it's in the wrong spot; Im sorry.

Ok so. Today my friend who is a big LotR fan like I am; told me that she heard this rumor that Disney was trying to buy Middle-Earth Enterprises. We joked for a little while about how bad things would get if this happened but later today it really started to bother me. So I googled it and a ton of stuff came up. On one website it said that Disney had already bought Middle-Earth Enterprises and that they were making a new TV show on Disney Channel called Orcs and Dorks, and that they were also making a "much needed squeal" (that's a quote from the website) of the Lord of the Rings called Lord of the Rings 4:Return to Middle Earth. -//sigh The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit are my life. Without them I don't know what I'd do so this whole thing has really freaked me out and put me on edge. Is this just a rumor started to scare Lord of the Rings fans? Or is it true? Please let me know if it is or isn't as soon as possible!

Hello!

Firstly, I would suggest that this be posted in the LOTR movies forum.

Secondly, that is a painful idea.

I agree. On both points.

Just a silly web rumor, probably a prank riffing on Disney's all-too-real buyout of Lucasfilm. http://www.middleearth.com/about.html

Besides, it would be completely out of character for Saul Zaentz, whose philosophy is like Bill Gates': never, ever sell the rights to anything, just license them.

Thank goodness. That really had me on edge, as you could obviously tell. But thank you for clearing that up for me!
