Aragorn vs. Rudolph?

I think you all remember this scene from Peter Jackson's The Two Towers, where Aragorn falls off a cliff with a warg:

But something else looks so familiar when I think of it. There was another hero who fell off a cliff with a monster, in the Rankin-Bass Christmas classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It's when Yukon Cornelius falls off a cliff with the Abominable Snow Monster:

They're so similar that it's funny! Coincidence? Or did Jackson get the idea from this 1964 special?

That is weird I'm not sure if it's coincidence or if Jackson just decided to add in an allusion to Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. The "coincedence" is pretty spooky :Q.

Nah I am pretty sure this is a coincidence. I think falling off of clods is somewhat common in movies and there are only so many interesting ways to do it. Still spooky though.
