*bump*

Almost done with the game I've been running.
Hopefully this month's session will get it done.
Then I can let Sable run the games for awhile.

I Got Dice For Christmas!! :D
My oldest gave me a pretty violet set.

One can never have enough dice. :D Congratulations on your present. :)

Our next session is next weekend - we're gearing up to take on a red dragon and five horned devils (after having just survived a fight with a balor  ).

heliona, what levels are you running?
That sounds like a difficult scenerio.
Bring lots of healing... :D

It was only a young one. Unfortunately the breath weapon took two characters to instant death: one was, IIRC already unconscious. The party killed it.

It should only have been a medium encounter. I had put it in to have a quick combat after a non-combat session. I have been running a series of 1st Ed adventures, that was Beyond the Crystal Cave.

I'm not sure that the difficulty tables in the DMG are very good.

I/we always use the DMG and Monster Manuals as guidebooks only.
And usually bump up the difficulty and monster hit points to make the game more difficult.

I play 1st edition, too, but I make my own scenerios.

I missed out my saving roll by 1 and died. And yes, the dragon died not long afterwards. Fortunately, we'd been to a Temple not long before and our characters were resurrected!

We're now level 13. There are six of us player characters, plus we have three companions. I think most of our party have lost HP as well, so this next encounter should be ... um ... interesting!

We're playing 5th Ed, but using 1st Ed scenarios. Some have already got official 5th Ed updates: I've done S1, S2 and G1-3, and others people have done updates for. They're not hard to convert anyway.

Well. we were to game this evening,
But our third player bowed out due to illness.
So I ran one off the top of my head for Sable and I.
Beats sitting about trying to stay wake.
Sable said she had a good time, so maybe i did ok.

Well, hopefully next Friday will be the day.

Well, we killed the dragon and the horned devils remarkably easily. Then we defeated an army with one song (our Bard sung up a blizzard).

Of course, since we're now fighting some survival game against the goddess Lolth, we're doomed, but it was good whilst it lasted!
