Lego Lord of the Rings

Mine just arrived by mail today and I was wondering if anybody else has picked this one up.

I'll let you all know how the game is once I start playing it.

I'm probably going to get it. I just don't really have the time at the moment to start a new game.

Well, I finally started playing and it's good. While it follows the movie trilogy pretty closely, it is not word for word.

So far I have just left Bag End in Hobbiton......

I pre-ordered mine and got it a few weeks ago :D

I'm at Mordor...Sam just rescued Frodo and we're now dressed as Orcs, lol:)

there's a few areas I would have done differently...but I like it! I just wish we could have spent time in Lothlórien :(

You probably can after you "win" if it's anything like the others.

Just got it the other day.

I just left Rivendell. It's fun so far :D

I don't know whether I'll have the patience to unlock everything and find every secret, but it's a good ride.

I couldn't get one of those. If I got just one I'd want to get them all, and I don't have a spare 1,000 dollars in my back pocket.

I don't know about the full game download, but you can download the demo for PC here.

http://thelordoftherings.us.lego.com/en ... fault.aspx

Just click the picture of the model of the treasure chest to take you to the demo download page.

We (my two teenaged kids and I) bought this the other day for PS3 and I have to say it is excellent. a lot of the more recent Lego games have felt a bit samey but this is brilliant. I think the fact that it features actual dialogue helps but also the free-roaming environment is a big improvement on the old, more linear lego games and the addition of skyrim-style quests.

But also characters from the books that weren't in the films, such as Tom Bombadil and the Barrow Wight are included. Well worth a play.

(and this reminds me and rather off-topic - I mentioned Lego LOTR on the Facebook Meta-TORC page yesterday. I don't know whether some of the newer members of the messageboard are on Facebook and know about this page. If you want to join it, you can find it here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/2424762804/

I really liked it. Unfortunately my saved game got corrupted so I had to erase it :/ Haven't gone back to it since.

Loved this game! I have to say for a Lego game the graphics of the locations were really good and having the music for each location was genius! I love travelling through Middle-Earth usually has Boromir and having Faramir with him.
