LotR: Gollum – Release Date, Screenshots, and Details

From Den of Geek:
Daedalic Entertainment has confirmed they are actively working on a next-gen title known as The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

First off, it sounds like the team plans on designing Gollum as a stealth-based action title. While they stop short of detailing the title’s gameplay, the basic idea is that you’ll sneak around various Middle-Earth locales as the game’s titular protagonist. Considering that this is Gollum we’re talking about, we highly doubt that there will be quite as much action in this game as we see in titles like the Batman Arkham series.

"Interestingly, it also seems like the game will take place before the events of The Lord of the Rings novel." Well, it would kinda HAVE to take place before the book, wouldn't it? It certainly can't be set afterwards.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is expected to be released sometime in 2021 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - Official Teaser Trailer (IGN): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFYCR1G2n9k

IGN reports: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Is a 'Prince of Persia-Like' Stealth Game With a Branching Narrative:

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will mix Prince of Persia-like stealth action, feature a branching narrative, and expand on the hints given by J.R.R. Tolkien about the Stoor-formerly-known-as-Sméagol to create a brand new Lord of the Rings story that aims to fit alongside the books.
Daedelic still isn't showing off gameplay footage of its 2021 next-gen stealth project, but the game's developers spoke exclusively to IGN about Gollum's mixture of stealth-action and interactive narrative gameplay, how they're expanding on Tolkien's original fiction, how they tried to create a version of the character you actually want to spend time with, and more.

We can also reveal a first CG teaser trailer, giving you a better look at this take on Gollum, and the Mordor he finds himself stranded in.
