FT, you did a number by Poco. Here's another on the same album which is my favorite:

Here's another one by another group. Remember when some from King Crimson, ELP and Yes got together to form the group Asia? This was pretty much a one-hit wonder from them:

Here is another Hot One which I share gleefully with all of you.

There's a storm to come. A fine storm.

Grand hot stereo. with awesome lyrics..in my humble opinion.

GETS REALLY HOT STEREO AFTER THE LYRICS...3:17 ALL THE WAY TO THE END. :horse: :horse: :horse:

Pack up your free ins and hold your own
there is a storm to come

Pack up your rockin' chair... (pack up your rockin' chair)

Wait for the river like some captive home in your mind

Baby go back where you come from

Sister, brother hope there's somethin' here to learn

All the money we been brewin' never havin' nothin' come true

Lay down the chosen share... (lay down the chosen share)

Statefully shiver someone else a half of the time

Maybe shoot down your brother's heart
And said things you think to be unkind

But leave my heart alone

Got these troubles of my own

Now you've had some time on the road with yourself again
Unleash the holdin' house... (unleash the holdin' house)

Statefully statin' somethin' isn't comin' your way
While everything you've been for
Is comin' around to your back door

Leave my heart alone
Got these troubles of my own...

but just
Leave my heart alone
Got these troubles of my own

I hope yall enjoyed this and I hope you share more. :)

A vivid memory of stereo from a while back.

Obscure to some, I am sure..but I loved this...and it is my pleasure to have found this and share it with you. Hoping it is new and enjoyable to you, please put your head phones on or your ear buds in and enjoy the stereo of

Kraftwerk

I really do hope you give this a hear.

Right to the left to the right and back again to the extremes

I found this band after Pink Floyd and enjoyed the thematic feel of this album.
Of course, the theme can only be felt after listening for a while..just as it does for PF.

I have to say I've been enjoying time on the headphones since I first read this thread. I save the links to listen to when I have a chance. Lots of good music here!

FrodoTook beat me to posting Kraftwerk! I probably would have had this one posted earlier, but it's been a crazy busy week both at home and at work. Love Kraftwerk, especially their early work. Here is Megahertz. It had the whole 2001 Space Odyssey thing going on!

Here is another song by a band that was going strong for years. This song is from a really good album from 1974(?) called Moontan. Golden Earring - Vanilla Queen. At about 6:00, there is some interesting effects with a vocal track and other sounds.

So many good stereo effect songs out there in my eclectic catalog of music. In the 60's. There were really some awesome tunes that really put the stereo tracking and overdubs to the test, probably since stereo and 8-track recording, were rather new. One is the Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today. A gospel/soul/folk band that went electric, this was the pinnacle of their experimentation.

The Moody Blues were great at using stereo to good effect. I always liked The Story In Your Eyes.

On the more subtle side, the Talking Heads - Once In A Lifetime has that tingling bells playing with the stereo separation in the background, with bits of backing vocals popping in here and there. And I just love this song.

I think I shared this a few years back in the rock on thread, but it's worthy of an encore. Joe Walsh - County Fair
Good stereo effects throughout the whole song, but especially in the middle jam. I like this particular youtube upload because it's definitely from the original analog vinyl. I can hear the odd pop throughout the song. The video is pretty good to watch too.

I'll close this post with some old psychedelic ethereal wizardry, Gandalf - Golden Earrings

I have to agree on The Talking Heads. I always liked them. Joe Walsh and Moody Blues are also good. I'd never heard the Chambers Brothers. They remind me of BTO.

The Moody Blues are very interesting, and if you can believe it, are still touring.
I do not have working headphones or even a decent system to listen to music one, so I have had to guess at stereo effects. Rush's music is full of them, and it doesn't take a good system to figure that out. I can say the same thing about Dream Theater.

Um...back to the non-working link.
I'm sorry that it took so long to get back to you, FT, but here is a working link

Great call out there!!! I, too, love the sounds I hear and appreciate them even moreso now.

The tingling sounds..indeed!!!

Thank you Arassuil...very much.

It did not sound the same as it ever was. It sounded...even better. 8)

Hey Lily Rose

Thank you so much for coming back and sharing Nightwish...The Islander

I am of Irish heritage. I found myself thinking back on my forebearers and definitely enjoyed the tune and video..which I think was great.

Thanks again for something new and enjoyable.

Ft, I am a mix of Irish and Viking, so songs like that are very appealing to me. Another Nightwish tune with an exceptional mood that will take you back to an ancient, moonlit night is Moondance...try this one:-

Chaos has ensued and I have been absent longer than intended. This thread has been quite fun, so I am glad to be back.

Um...Rush and Dream Theater are my favorites when it comes to stereo.

And, now I am thinking of an old Metallica tune. I love the sitar during the intro.

Wherever I May Roam

More Rush:-)
This is off of Hold Your Fire. This album has been panned by many, but I think that it may be my favorite.
Time Stand Still

And more Dream Theater!
FT, I see that you had really enjoyed Metropolis part 1, from Images and Words. Now, here is a cut from Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory. The album is best listened to in its' entirety. I think that you would enjoy it. This is a more mellow tune.

It always makes me happy when music I share makes a difference in someone's life; It is the reason that I am still sane, despite my ridiculous life.

Dance Pop, eh? I can do that too, but being me, it must be unusual...
The Cruxshadows and Assemblage 23 come to mind. Both of these songs are kind of sad, but, at least in the former, the message is good.

This is probably my favorite of this genre
The Cruxshadows: Winterborn

and then, from Assemblage 23. It sounds like the story of my life.

Dance... not much into Lopez, but I don't mind dancing with Debbie and her Heart of Glass :)

Thought I would throw a couple up from a highly under-rated band from the late 60’s/early 70’s…. Shocking Blue.
Probably best known for their hit ‘Venus’, many of their other tracks on their half-dozen albums are quite good!
Mighty Joe
Waterloo

They did a rather trippy song called Love Buzz which was later covered by Nirvana and was a track on their ‘Bleach’ album.

I just bought my first stereo (with headphones ;) ) when Styx released The Grand Illusion.

I think the song 'Castle Walls' will always be one of my favorites to listen to in stereo. Especially with headphones.

Hey yall. Been away for awhile and am so glad to see this thread still kicking.

Big welcome to my friend Dunny:)

Thank you for sharing Styx "Castle Walls". I am listening to it now as I type. I does indeed sound great...with my ear buds in. I love the thematic feel of the tune..a journey. The whole tune is stellar but I must say The end of the tune is a grand use of stereo. I love it..a lot.

I am considering...actually even more than that...I have decided to buy some comfortable noise canceling head phones...cause I have read that many of my friends prefer them.

Also many thanks to Arassuil and Lily Rose for their continued shares and joy. I am going to go back now and enjoy what you have shared recently.

Very cool.

I hope you enjoy...

Please enjoy the stereo.
