Downloaded some Bal Sagoth....meh. I don't like it. It sounds like they are playing a 40$ Casio keyboard. Not enough power behind it. Sounds like the metal and classical are fighting each other a little.

Why is it when someone say's they are not satisfied with Opeth, people tell them to download "Demon Of The Fall". What's so special about it? It's a good song, but there's nothing outstanding or great about it.<BR><BR>Deftones is nu-metal. Nu-metal doesn't nessecarily contain rapping. Nu-metal just isn't metal.

Lol. I guess Demon of the Fall is just Opeth by definition. There are others though you should check out. The Drapery Falls is a good one. I don't get why everyone hates the acoustic aspect of it though. I personally think thats what make them so original and not repetitive. Maybe its just me but I think it adds a certain depth to the sound. Thats just my 2 cents though.

I know all of Opeth's stuff, dude. Some of it just doesn't work for me. That song "Bleak" off their newest is pretty cool though.

To legolas_the_fair, download that awful 'Back To School' song. If you can't see that he's rapping, then there's something wrong with you.

"Where are all the metalheads?"<BR>Well, to answer your question directly, Master Archer, I'm soon headbanging in merry old England. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><BR>I used to be into heavy metal a few years back. The <i>classics</i> were my favourites: Metallica, AC/DC, Paradise Lost, Clawfinger... Don't have a clue as what exactly they would qualify. Now - as I'm getting older - I'm into more of a variety of music: Blind Guardian, Placebo, Depeche Mode (the old songs), Blink 182, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones... Go, figure a pattern. But I'm still tossing my head about whenever I hear Metallica etc. Even been to an AC/DC concert not too long ago. I thought that I should use the chance, seeing that they don't get any younger and this might well be their last tour. I've never seen a concert with so few women before. Intersting...

Mistress Archer, when do you head back to England? Blind Guardian are a lot of fun to listen to. I like Bon Scott AC/DC but I can't stand Metallica anymore. I used to like them but as I get older my taste in metal gets heavier and heavier.

Maeglin: I meant to mention that Entombed does use those lyrics in a song but obviously Iron Maiden and Alister Crowley used them first and I sure that Crowley was Entombed's source for the lyrics.

Darth: The best all around plain old rockin' metal band to get into is Entombed. The used to be death metal, now they are just very agressive metal....like Pantera but not sucking. They have abrand new album out called Morningstar that is sure to hailed as one of 2001's best by all metal mags.

Well, I rate Cradle of Filth as gothic black metal and I like them. APart from that, Type O Negative: Bloody Kisses and October Rust were pretty good vampire rock albums. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0><BR><BR>
