Another came to my mind...

my favorite.

The lyrics still speak to me. They teach me in a very positive way and the music takes me to a very special place.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ljnv3KGtcyI

We were talking-about the space between us all
And the people-who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth-then it's far too late-when they pass away.
We were talking-about the love we all could share-when we find it
To try our best to hold it there-with our love
With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew.
Try to realise it's all within yourself
No-one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small,
And life flows within you and without you.
We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people,
Who gain the world and lose their soul-
They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them?
When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find, peace of mind,
Is waiting there-
And the time will come when you see
we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you

thanks again b

I have been needing to hear George again and I thank you.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't give a gosh darn which one I had a drink with.
And I know I would probably spill the drink on one of them
And be embarrassed for the rest of my life,

LOL...indeed. IF there was a choice it would be George or John. On another day, the order might change.
That said...if I would have ever had the chance to have a drink with any of them, I would take it and be thrilled.
Oh I know one thing...before I would have a million questions...once there I would lose my mind and forget my name.

I would love to have a drink with John and George. To just hang out and chill with them would be so very cool to me.

Well, I can imagine.

I would love for Jules and Calma to be with them... with me.

Imagine that. 8)

I think we would not be considered in awe of them.

I think we would be considered cool to be with...by them.

Nice thought.

Spills drink

John asks for a napkin.

And writes the words to a song on it.

Well, I can imagine. With good feelings. :)

April 4, 1964, 49 years ago today, Beatles hold the top five (5) spots on the billboard top 100 singles chart, as follows:

No. 1, "Can't Buy Me Love"
No. 2, "Twist and Shout"
No. 3, "She Loves You"
No. 4, "I Want to Hold Your Hand"
No. 5, "Please Please Me"

This feat has never been equaled by anyone before or since.

Amazing!

Some Beatle news has been piling up a bit. In case you missed it, Paul was on the Colbert Report a while ago, here's the episode

http://www.colbertnation.com/full-episo ... -mccartney

So some people get to hang with the surviving Beatles. I couldn't find a link to clips, so you'll just have to peruse the full episode.

Fumbling about youtube for a bit, I stumbled upon this interesting combination, a fine Love Song and some classy classic girls.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96YQdiMV-Jc

Marilyn was my Hollywood crush growing up, and I had a sorta girl-friend, named Marilyn, BION!

But Lauren Bacall had one of my all-time favorite movie lines

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9Ay727EYzw

And look what's out on BR!

http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2013/07/ ... -best.html

Help! -This is a much fluffier affair than its groundbreaking predecessor A Hard Day’s Night (Ringo is being chased by a religious cult who wish to offer him up as a human sacrifice to their god; hilarity ensues). But still, it’s a lot of fun, if you’re in the mood for it. Luckily, the Beatles themselves exude enough goofy energy and effervescent charm to make up for the wafer-thin plotline. There are a few good zingers here and there in Marc Behm and Charles Wood’s screenplay; but the biggest delights come from director Richard Lester’s flair for pure visual invention. The main reason to watch this film is for the musical sequences, which are imaginative, artful, and light years ahead of their time (and pretty much the blueprint for MTV). Talk about a killer soundtrack: “Ticket to Ride”, “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away”, “The Night Before” and “I Need You”, to name a few. Universal’s new Blu-ray is a noticeable upgrade in picture/audio quality.

There are some other flicks there too that are worth another, better look.

Very interesting to watch. Most of them right off knew it was The Beatles. The very last question asked if they thought music was better then or today....all but a few said today's music is better. And I was surprised at how many times Justine Beiber's name was brought up and One Direction... *shakes head*

Ringo Starr got the most votes. Don't know what to say about that.

Interesting.

It's a generation thing, I think.
The teens/pre-teens of today are really no different than we were.
I laughed at that one boy who was blown away by the girls screaming at the Beatles.
Like the girls of today invented it or something? Sheesh...

One Direction and Justin Bieber are not what I would call entertainers.
Yeah, they're nice looking and they can sing.
But did they hone their craft in the smoke filled halls of LIverpool or Hamburg?
I don't think so.
They were put together by the record label dream machine.
Four or five or one young people/person snagged up,
Given songs and a record deal
And told to go out there and sing...
Not my idea of really working to be a band.
Hell, One Direction and Bieber have to have back up bands.
And don't even get me started on; "Can they write their own music?"
Not happening...

Let the kids of today have their idols.
Who am I to say no to their fun?
But give me real talent any day of the week.

December 3, 1969 - John Lennon was asked to play the title role in "Jesus Christ, Superstar." The offer was revoked the next day.

I didn't know that and I can't believe that he would have done the job that Ted Neely did.

It was 50 years ago today
Ed Sullivan brought the boys to play....

Actually it's when they landed in NYC,
But close enough for jazz...

The evening they appeared on Ed Sullivan,
I was huddles on the sofa in my grandmothers house waiting.
Waiting for four boys from England to play.
My sisters and I couldn't wait to see and hear them.
When they came on, I was hooked.
Hooked good and tight.

It's been a 50 year love affair.
One that has not lessened one bit.

So, where were you 50 years ago?

Oh yeah, I watched it.
For the most part it was good.
Loved the cover of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'
Thought Katy Perry did a very bad rendition of 'Yesterday'.

But when Ringo and Paul got up and sang together
I cried like a baby.

Yes, happy birthday, George, my favorite Beatle. I've been listening to "All Things Must Pass" all week.

Mike Love of the Beach Boys has in honor of George's 71st birthday, released this song in his honor, in memory of when they went to India to meet the Maharishi:
