Thank you so much Oreo

I have not heard that tune for to long a time. As you said...truely a masterpiece.

Other of my favorite artists will come to mind...you have mentioned many of my favs already in previous posts...

King Crimson

ELP ( Tarkus was awesome )

Pink Floyd ( Obscured by Clouds, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, Umma Gumma and Dark Side + )

Tull ( Benefit, Thick, Passion, +++ )

Led Zep ( 1, 2 3, un-named [4], Physical+ )

Aerosmith ( Toys )...what was there first albums name?...It escapes me ( but I do think it had Dream On on it...please correct me if I remember wrongly ) )...it was great.

More will come to mind as will the available links.

I am going to throughly enjoy this thread and look forward to hearing everyone's fav rock tunes.

Bring it on my fellow rock fans.

=============

Hey Oreo...I love ( as I think you do )..progressive / jazzy rock.

The transitions...the words...the rock...the flow....telling a story with wonderful voices and music.

The Who come to mind too....Tommy, Quadrophenia and

Who's Next..one of my all time favs.

My mind is racing now.

Once again...

Bring it on my fellow rock fans.

There isn't much live Pink Floyd on the net, and what there is, is quite recent...

But, here's a nice video to their Wish You Were Here. That album was what brought me to this band. 8)

I would have entertained while I rocked...and loved it.

Much like Peter Townsend ( or ironicly Paul Stanley of Kiss...he danced to the music too ) did.

I know I missed my calling... 8)..I would have rocked rocked you and entertained you...both at the same time..but I digress... :)

Definitely one of my favs

A link to...

Mott The Hoople

Sweet Jane

No longer works

The lead guitarist ( Mick Ralphs ) who I thought was awesome..moved on to Bad Company.

I enjoyed Ian Hunter's voice...
Anyone else familiar with "NOISES"?

Ian Hunter had a great solo album after his time with Mott.

Bring on your ROCK.

OK yall...

Upon revisiting this thread I have found that the link I supplied no longer works.
Damn It.

Anyhoo...following is the words accompaning the time when it ( the link ) did work.

The following is not a great accompaning vid but the ROCK is great IMO.

ZZ Top

One of my very favorite tunes by them..simple...with great licks.

I Heard It On The X

Crank it up...close your eyes..and ROCK.

I dig it..and hope you do as well.

As I recommended..Crank It Up.

Backbone sliding...leg shaking...head bobbing music...just like I love it.

I can feel my sub woofer puffing. 8) Plus..in addition..My eyebrows and mouth are reacting to where this music is taking me.

I love this tune.

LZ has some tunes which take me "there" to.

CRANK IT UP

It helped me.

Thank you Pam...wherever you are.

Thank you so very much 8) Oreo

Life is a long song is definitely one of my all time favorites ( by Tull or any other band for that matter ) as well.

I had that link saved on my desktop for a while...I have missed listening to that tune.

It ends to soon for us all.

Living in the past is one of my favorite albums...

Just from memories of that album I remember very fondly

Song for Jeffrey

Dr. Bogenbroom

Witches Promise

Wondering Again

Driving Song...which I have been looking a good link to.
I love that tune...

Thank you so much for visiting and adding so much to my joy of this thread.

I need to find something unmentioned ( as of yet ) to share with all of you.

I will do so soon.

Of course, what would a reference to Led Zep without Stairway to Heaven? I wish I could find a better video of this reunion concert in December 2007, though.

Pink Floyd playing Echoes at Pompeii

I just got through listening and seeing.

I so agree that that might just be the best music vid ever.

A truely great find Oreo.

It puts me in a very good place.

The vid reminded me of the cover of the Umma Gumma album...with the instruments displayed...the percussion instruments.

Several small species of amimals grooving in a cave with a pict. 8)

At the time ...when I first heard that song...I imagined MANY insects with tennis shoes on...stomping and marching.

A very good time in my life.

I just know that you can relate to...Carefull with that axe Eugene.

and Saucer full of Secrets.

It is so good to relate with an old school Floyd / Tull fan.

============

I thank you once again.

Here is something I enjoy which I hope you enjoy as well.

Songs from the wood

I still love the transitions.

So true FT!!!

Saucerful of Secrets is one of thier greatest compositions!!!

I've always wondered why Rick Wright took such a back seat in the latter era. He has a marvelous voice, it's sooo floyd and he and Gilmour Harmonize so well together. I also think that Mason's drumming in that song is spectacular. I've often theorized that Wright got alot of camera time in the early days because he bore a striking resemblance to Syd and the label wanted to keep up the appearance after Barrett's departure.

Also, great Tull vid! 8)

Here's a funky classic, ... http://youtube.com/watch?v=78BivgombIE

I've always thought that this was a Great Yes song. Trevor Horn was just crucified during this tour, but he sounds great even if he looks like a lazy '80s banker!!!

I loved that Oreo

As I said earlier I love progressive jazzy rock..which that was a perfect example of...Thank you so much for sharing that link.

It was classic Yes for me...with...

Great Funky Bass

Great Lead Riffs

and

Classic Yes Harmonic Vocals

 at
Trevor Horn looking like a lazy '80s banker!!!

So true but he did sound great!!!...I guess he was just going through a "phase". ... :)

Hey all.

Phil Collins came to mind so I searched and found a gem.

A good friend...( thanks again Glen )... introduced me ( turned me onto ) to Genesis a very long time ago and I loved the sound.

This link is post-Genesis.

Take Me Home

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egJR3K6UIJY

The sound is crisp...reminding me of the one time I was at a Phil Collins concert...The sound was excellent...The drums and vocals snapped...every song sounded like a studio album cut.

I thoroughly enjoyed that concert. 8)

I hope you all enjoy this..I sure did.

Roundabout

Sorry the link no longer works.

Sounds good to me too.

The bass was stronger on the studio version but this one was pretty good.
