I finally finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - I enjoyed it for the most part. I've not read Pride and Prejudice, it's not really my sort of book, so this was my introduction to it. It did appear to be the original text with bits of zombies added. Some of it seemed a bit much (the girls are very bloodthirsty) and I didn't like the end. It didn't match the independence the girls showed throughout the book, to my mind. But it was fun.
Next up was The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty which was dreadful and I would not recommend to anyone! It was written by Anne Rice, and is essentially porn. There's a lot of spanking and paddling and what amounts to rape. The only reason I got through it was because it was quite short and I could easily skim read it, since most of it was the same scene recycled over and over again. Utter nonsense.
Then I moved on to Joel McHale's Thanks for the Money - he's an American comedian, known in the US for being the host of "The Soup" and further afield as Jeff Winger in the very funny television series, "Community". This is a book I enjoyed. You can hear his voice when you read it, and most of it isn't to be taken seriously, but does paint an interesting picture of Hollywood.
I'm now reading Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes. I'm about halfway through it at the moment, and enjoying it. It's very atmospheric.
