The author of Watership Down has died, aged ninety-six.

Truly a classic of the genre: a book that transcends its status as a children's story, not least because these feel like actual rabbits, as opposed to humans in rabbit suits. I didn't think much of the subsequent short story collection (Tales of Watership Down), but the original and the cartoon movie adaption will always be close to my heart.

I love the book too. I do sometimes re-read it still.

But 96 is a good age. I'd like to reach that (with my mind intact, of course).
