Ursula Le Guin

Not a surprise at this point, I suppose, but she has passed on. My introduction to fantasy was the Earthsea trilogy, LOTR, and, though it is not usually thought of as such, the Iliad. There are worse ways to begin a life of reading.

She has given us a lot to be thankful for.

I was somewhat familiar with Le Guin before, but my real introduction to her works was discovering the Earthsea Trilogy in the 1980s. Condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and readers.

This is sad news! the Earthsea saga was required reading in my high school back in the day.

A great literary loss. I enjoyed her work.
