One of the articles on the front page here (about Harry Potter and Satanism) suggested that Thomas Covenant had a deep moral meaning. I agree with this, but I'm not sure what it would be. Any ideas?

Covenant is tought because he's not particularly likeable at first. But this is a man who learns to conquer many fears. He is quite a modern, tragic hero - a hero despite himself. His passion causes him and others much heartache yet enables him to cut through the pretense and deal with what is important. Acceptance of love and responsibility is a big theme throughout. He, like some of the LotR characters, grows and becomes a larger person, better than he probably ever thought he could be. By sacrificing for others, he was able to become essentially himself. And become whole.
IMHumbleO <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

It's been many years since I've read the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, I remember that I did enjoy them very much, but unlike Tolkiens books, they weren't worth re-reading (I've read LOTR at least 20+ times!)
I read the Covenant series and was very disappointed with the ending although I don't see another way to end it. I did like them enough so that my wedding ring is made of white gold.
