Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

***anyone hear from Sunsilver? I am wondering how her op all went and how she is doing**

I appear to be alone with a few UGs...

Having a hard time swallowing the bill for a new furnace in our rental unit..but I'll count my blessings: I had the funds, I got a huge discount from the heating company and I was able to get it installed within 18 HOURS of being notified of the problem...just gonna be a lean Christmas...but still blessed.

Sunsilver got through her surgery very well and is feeling good. Her sister-in-law came to stay with her. Last Friday she had an appointment with her doctor about what will happen going forward and she may not even need radiation. Fingers crossed!

Witchy.. ugh.. large unexpected expenses are a real pain. Our furnace went out about 2 days before Christmas about 2 or 3 years ago. It was over 25 years old, so probably a good time to get a new one anyway... Can't go without heat in these northern climates!!

Did anyone remember to bring the big butterfly net? And the duct tape?

Maybe we can set a trap and bait it with tacos.

The flash of a Taco truck caravan streaking by as Vana is about to step off the curb. The breeze of the pass almost knocks her off her feet. "Phew at least the sidewalk wasn't slick so I did not fall. "

basil waves at Vana as they go by tugging on LadyKat's sleeve and pointing back. But they are around the corner too fast.

I am still not well myself but am doing better. Breathing difficulties sure do suck!! On Prednisone again for 11 days but it helps. No antibiotics this time since they did not help last month.
Mom is back in the hospital with a severe bladder infection. They are readjusting her meds to see if they can help. She no longer remembers who my sister is and I go down this Friday and pray she is better and does not forget me. I still want to see her and hug her. She was my best friend growing up. <3

I will see if I can stir some fire underneath rwhen.

HELLLOOOOO DA HHOOOUUUSSSEEEEE!!!

First, I am sorry to have worried you, but enjoyed reading of the taco trucks, horsies, raccoons, carnitas and more. I didn't mean to worry anyone, but as you will read, sort of couldn't be helped.

Second, thank you to Rosie for the voice message and Vanadarlin' for the text, I got both this morning. You are adorable and great friends.

So here is the long and short of it. Those who know me well know that I have a medical condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). Pretty rare condition and in my case thankfully the meds I take daily keeps it under control, but a few times a year....it doesn't. If you are wanting to know more just Google it but it is a very painful thing when it is full blown....first attack happened I think around 3 weeks ago and came on fast and strong. I took tons of Advil and my carbamazipine but it was doing nothing but in the end making me sick so that I couldn't keep anything down....finally after four days it started to abate and the fifth day I went back to work...that led to a six day stretch which was more harmful than good...and put me back down for four days, but the second time I caught it fast and the meds did fairly well, I didn't have to overdo it and was able to eat and sleep...then I had a five day work stretch...I am off a day today and then back tomorrow for one day before two days off. Also for how this condition manifests for me, my eyes get very sensitive to light and can trigger the pain which is usually located around the top of my head or behind the right ear, associated and close to optic nerves, so I tried two times to come to the computer, but it was just too painful and made my stomach turn...I haven't had episodes like these in years and hope it will be years before they decide to come back again. Just for information...there is nothing that triggers it to start and the only med for it is carbamazipine which is a generic for Tegratol. That is used for epileptics or folks with seizures. I have had this from a very early age and I don't have it near as bad as some I have read about. So thanks be for that.

Again, I am very sorry that I have worried you, honestly I am. I am pretty much back to normal, just get tired very easily from work, so I tend to be a slug in any down time to try and catch up on sleep and rest. I suspect that by this weekend I should be back in posting form and I look forward to it. I have missed you all.

For now it is just a big ol' :grouphug: to you and I will be here either Friday or Saturday. (The laundry is piling up and this apartment? IT STINKS...needs a good cleaning out).

Don't worry about our feelings rwhen when you are having an attack..you just concentrate on getting yourself better. Yes, I goodled the condition and wow, that sounds like a lot to bear. Because some have it worse than you doesn't mean you don't have it bad as it is..big hugs to you. I too hope you go many years (like forever) without another flair up, I haved lived with chronic pain in the past and it is zero zero fun and just saps everything out of you..so praying for this to go away for you my dear.

Meanwhile, we loaded down the taco truck with butterfly net, duct tape and were really looking forward to our heist of rwhen...but if it is still too painful to be here, no worries, we will sit by the taco truck, eating, drinking and chasing butterflies until you can return, pain free.

rwhen, I cannot begin to say how glad I am to hear that you are OK (relatively speaking). I was on the verge of trying to contact your brother. That said I am very sorry to hear that your TN has flared up. I can only imagine how awful that must be. I get migraines on occasion and I can't do a darn thing but rest in a dark, quiet, smell-free area until it passes. Please, take care of yourself. I wish I could offer you some help.
:rose:

Speaking for myself, I am beginning to realize that I can't push myself as I once did. I wear down more easily and take (MUCH) longer to recover. We must be gentle with ourselves.

Taco truck ain't goin' nowhere. We'll park it here & sit a spell.
