For the Fallen but not Forgotten of TORC III

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Don't you know the great ones don't sleep? They wander the boards, watching over us all... ;)

I'm feeling a weight of grief today, having learnt of the death of Rowanberry.

I know there's a dedicated thread in her memory, and I'm posting here not about her passing, but to the memories it has stirred. Rowanberry is not the first TORCer and friend lost to death, and I'm thinking also of others who will not return here, some who have vanished and we don't know why, maybe to live and flourish elsewhere, or maybe no longer living.

I just wanted to mention once again the names of those I travelled with for a while here, to say that I remember them:

Thank you Novice.

Rowan was the one that took the responsibility to be sure that the Oxford mooters all signed a card for me years ago when I couldn't attend. Just one way that she was so lovely.

But I have played and laughed with her, I won't forget that. Nor her sweet soul.

vison, Alex and now Rowan. How many heartbeats silenced too soon.

My love to them all.

Thank you Judy I have seen that.

Lord Hue it is my honor to remember her and the love you both share!  With much love for my Brother of the Boards!

I got to chat with rwhen today. She is doing well. Loves her job and is busy looking for an apartment closer to work since she commutes quite a ways on busy highways. She misses everyone!

Some Fall, but are not Cast Down

Postby prmiller » Tue Apr 08, 2014 10:46 pm

The nature of the paths we tread
is that they lead through mountain trails,
and though our feet grow cold as lead,
we find some inn...it never fails.
The guests within may know of us,
yet we have travelled far from home,
and news can only travel realms
where other folks brings tales and roam.
So while my footsteps take me far,
and journeys take me 'round this earth,
I know where all my good friends are,
and where good songs are found, and mirth.
Sometimes the trails are rough and steep
and we may fall, rough-bruised and sore,
but after medicines and sleep,
we find our way to friendship's door.
Our brand-new life is not all smiles,
though fallen,we are not cast down,
but rise again to tread those miles
returning to this friendly town.
I see the smoke, and hear the songs,
sung round the hearth and warming fire,
and know where this bard's heart belongs,
with friendly voices I desire.

Blessings,
Parm :)
