For the Fallen but not Forgotten of TORC III

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Parm, you always amaze. Thank you for the lovely words and wonderful sentiment, felt by all who have had a life here on TORC, past and present. The friendships are all treasured and some do touch us deeper than others...all still precious in every way. Thank you friend.

I hadn't realised that Raven had posted this year. I miss her.

parm, that was perfection. :)

A big shout out to Radagast (the original one) - I had a lot of fun with him in RP. He was an amazing writer, but also an intelligent, thoughtful person.

Hola, Dunthy!!! I love it when you stroll back into the turf of TORC!! I remember Greenleaflady. Been a long time. How is life and everything for you? I am going to have the pleasure of meeting up with some TORCers at the end of the month. I wish it could be everyone in a huge TORChug.

:D

Howdy heliona. I remember Radagast the Brown as well. Was Radagast here and gone before 2001?

Hey there rwhen! :)
Life's okay. Our son was in the hospital for 3 weeks and we came home with all of the equipment (but not the staff. ;) )
Needless to say my wife and me are not getting a whole lot of sleep due to various beeping sounds.
The various equipment pieces look like the old rejected robots in the original star wars movie.
To keep a sense of humor, we are naming them. :)
The good news is my son is on the road (albeit slow road) to recovery.

Getting together with fellow TORCer friends sound like a whole lot of fun, merriment, etc. 8)
Is that the world famous Oxford Moot??

Ooooo I am sorry to read of your son's illness. Here is tons of healing vibes coming his way! I know he will improve and get 100% asap. I like the idea that you are naming the various equipment. Keeps it real.

I WISH it was the famous Oxford moot!! Nope, Drieske is coming to San Francisco from Holland, so I am flying down to meet her and a few of the TORCers that live in the bay area will be stopping by at some point in the four days. SQUEEEEEEEEEEE.

Someday I honestly do hope to make it to Oxford though.

I don't remember Radagast the Brown at all, but I didn't hang around in Movies that much back then. Yes, I think Radagast was gone before 2001. He was an 1999er, I think. I don't think he was around in 2001, or at least, not so much. (This is him - although as he was one of the many of us who had our joindates changed, ignore his - he was definitely around quite a while before I joined! :D )

Dunthy, I'm sorry to hear about your son. But it's good that he's home, even if he is surrounded by equipment. Hopefully you'll be saying goodbye to them soon.

rwhen may not be going to the Oxford moot, but I am! :P

I am glad and fortunate to have met very many good people here.

Thank you Efff Teee!!! I love the thread. Sometimes we get a rash of oldies popping back in again and giving us a chance to share a howdy and a hug.

I think of how our lives have been changed by one simple fact: Tolkien. He was much more magical than he ever realized or even knew.

Hope all is well with you and yours. *warm hugs*

Still alive but incredibly busy with a job I love, a new house (in need of renovations) and voluntary work as press officer for the German Tolkien Society.

Just wanted to let you know I am still out and about. Have been thinking about this place for quite a while now and managed to steal away from other duties on my lunchbreak. Hope live has been treating you well, my friends. Happy to still see a lot of familiar names around. :grouphug:

i'm just going to sit here quietly and reflect on the echos of adventures long resolved or abandoned but never forgotten, whispers of faded laughter, and the ghosts left in my memories by dear friends who shall never leave me, not truly. perhaps i'll light a few candles and i walk through those old lanes in my mind, one name leading me to another until i've rebuilt the ephemeral city of the past and populated it once more. sh, don't disturb them, or they shall fly away once more...
