Telta, Sil, Guru, and everyone else :hihi:

It is good to see the place is still here, even though I missed all the PHP fuss.

Is there some unofficial planning going on for a TORC moot in the Northeastern part of the US? Curious minds want to know!

So True the Arrow, So Steady the Hand

No word in your quiver goes errant,
no thought from your bow is misspent,
no image falls short of your target,
so true are the arrows thus sent.
Your heart with a steady compunction
pulls the bowstrings few others could ply,
your story does more than just function--
your steady hand helps my heart fly!

Thank you Parm for your wonderful poem.

Hi everyone...

A quick pass-by as I will be leaving for work soon enough . When I have to wake up I don't like working Sundays... :P :P
Then again it is a short day followed by 2 hours of singing :D :D.

Kaya, we have also had an amazing weather this week; 25degres on Thursday. Now obviously it was lovely when I was working but during my weekend, it was raining . Sabotage :P :P!!

Hello, all.

Mrs. Parm and I have gotten quite busy getting ourselves
settled into life in Canada.

We are eyeball deep in paperwork getting myself properly documented
to sponsor my wife to be a permanent resident.

Little Firefly, sad to say, has had a very rough go of it making
her way here. Even though we have excellent health-care facilities,
and fantastic health-care givers, it is another thing indeed to help
a young lady who has lived 17 full years in one country to embrace
all the nuances and inferences, the subtleties and expectations of
a brand new country. Culture shock is rather mild. Dear Little
Firefly has been batter by cultural tsunami.

Tonight, though, was a good night.
We talked, we reminisced, she cried, then we laughed
and then it was off to bed...just a few minutes ago.
It is now 1:02 a.m.

I am off to bed as well.

I am trying to also to write belated congratulations to all our Evenstar inheritors,
and trying to keep up with those newly bejeweled. If I have missed you,
I am sorry, but I will try to make amends as best as I may.

I am now working 21 hrs with 5 hours of teaching prep, but not full-time position,
yet. Even so, it keeps our savings account from bleeding out too badly.

SAIT is fun. It is also very, very busy!
...but is is much, much different than where I taught before...and in a good way!

Well, I look forward to being with you as often as I am able.

May your skies have clouds a-dancing,
may your nights be trimmed with light,
may your paths be smooth, yet lovely,
may your rest restore your might;
may your friends wax wise and faithful,
may your foes be far and few,
may your joys upend your sorrows,
may you know I cherish you!

Blessings,
Parm :)
I love the worldI am in...

Parm hope Firefly's adaptation to another country runs more smoothly as the days pass. I know it's not easy as I saw it with my girls. Being a military family we have moved many times over the last 27 years. We went from Ontario,Canada to Germany, to Manitoba, to Nova Scotia back to Ontario and now reside once again in Manitoba. The last move, 11 years ago, my oldest (now 26) had the hardest time. But happily she and her sister have made the transition and now call this place home. :)

Happy 10th TORCiversary Telta, the jewel looks great on you.

Only a little over a week for mine :D :D...

Singing is coming along nicely... we've got 6 songs down - without counting the smaller ensemble songs - Seasons of Love, 60s Partyline (a medley of it's my party, Chapel of Love, Lollipop, These boots are made for walking, Downtown), And So It Goes, Rhythm of Life, Gerschwin for Girls and A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square.
Three to go: Alleluia, Job Job and Getting in the Mood, which are the most crazy :P :P. The intricacies of the first are amazing and when we have it down it will sound amazing.

Work is going ok; I have some work to do to make it work better but it's exciting :D :D.

Hi all,
Wow, this thread does move along! I'm not used to it :D

Sorry I didn't get back in for a while - assignments left right and centre at the moment!
But I wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome back at the end of the last thread and the start of this one. I'm recognising a few more names, but I'm sure not many of you remember me. (I wasn't the most prolific poster back in the day).

Anyway, please call me Manya. I dabbled in roleplaying here under that name. The name you see to your left shall be a relic of a younger, more impulsive time ;)

Forgive me if I don't duck in here too often - those assignments will keep coming and if I don't pay attention I SHALL NOT PASS! :D

We sing that one, too! Except ours is for SATB. And that's the "nuts" one I was referring to. :D I hate to say it, but there are parts of it that remind me of the music in Bambi, when it's storming. Probably not the association I should be having while singing it. :P

Manya, I totally sympathize about the assignments. My semester's end is coming in fast, and I don't think I'm ready!

I missed the first rehearsal they had for it being sick as a dog that day (although I did not skip work) with hardly any breath in my lungs to speak to my employees.
I regret not going just to hear it - but I was contagious and I did not want to pass the sickness along to my teacher's mother or baby boy...
Still struggling with it. We'll be working on it tomorrow though so I don't despair :P :P.

Coming back from Quebec where my husband and I were for the weekend to eat in one of these maple shacks. Gosh it was good! but I will have to work extra hard in the gym to shed it all . Never thought I'd like that but an omelet with maple syrup on it was totally amazing :D :D :D
