Post Count Envy

While I don't have it, it is rumored that some do envy the post count of others.
This is a thread that while allowing those enviers to express their denial of PCE
It also allows them a way to try to catch up to the post counts they envy.

PCE is post count envy. You'll have to get someone else to explain how the term came about, though.

One of our members, when she shows up, is Vanaladiel, with the highest point count. We all envy her three rings...

Hi Gwen! Welcome back!

I never worry about reading past posts in a thread like this. If I did, I'd never post...

*looks at post count*

Hmm, looks like I almost never post as it is...at least compared to some of you folks!

YAY new thread, and I'm on the first page! ;) :D

Now to go back and reply to what I missed since my last post in the old thread..

Eari, yup, I'm almost there! :D I see that you are only a little over 500 posts away from your blue wheel of death. Quite close! ;) :D

I'll really miss my Mariner's Wheel once I get my ring. I've always loved it.. maybe that's one of the reasons it's taken me so long to make it to my shiney. ;) :P

Hey Sil! Welcome back to the PCE! Would you like a bagel? I had one today, and hey, they're ring-shaped, so perfect for the PCE thread, right?

Sid, congrats on 300 posts! You will be among post count royalty soon enough, if you stick around long enough. ;) 8)

15 posts to go now.. wheeeee!

13 posts to go Lin...
And yes slowly but surely I am getting close to that wheel of death... and then the sky's the limit :D :P :D :P

well I was hoping to sleep in this morning but for some reason I woke up at 8:20am and cannot go back to sleep so up I am.
I will concentrate on writing today but I will also get out since it is sunny out there. Maybe not just now around 10am when the bookstore opens :P :) :)

Ohhhh, new thread! Did we deny the other to full capacity? :P

I'm denying The Hobbit has left the theaters in my area. I was planning on going one last time tomorrow as a birthday present from me to me.

Now it's gone. :(

Guess I'll just have to wait until the DVD hits the stores.

I am proud of myself... I did not go see the Hobbit :D :D though the temptation was there. What else am I expected to do when all my TORC friends are going? Still I held my ground and did not go. YAY me!!

I deny that my weekend is over and that I have to get up at 8:30 tomorrow to be at the office for 10am :P :P. But the weekend was really nice though and I got plenty of writing done :D :D :D so I am really happy. My short story is almost finished too :D

You stayed away from the Hobbit? Impressive...I was incredibly unenthusiastic for it, and I still couldn't escape going twice...Sorry to hear your weekend is over. I hope you found some time to work on something for the ICC... :P

LK, sorry to hear you didn't get to see The Hobbit one last time before it left the theaters! It's coming out next month though, so you won't have to wait long. ;)

Ooh, and Happy Birthday to you! Hope you had a good one. :D

James and I saw The Hobbit three times (and in 3D the third time, which was really unnecessary.. I'm not a fan of 3D). I loved it, though there were a few things I could have done without.. but it was great to go back to Middle-Earth with Gandalf and Bilbo and the dwarves. ;) :D

Hey LK, Happy Birthday!!!

Well, I too have seen TH only twice. I had exams when I planned to see the third time. :( And I'm waiting for the dvds eagerly!!

earendil81, you are a writer? Awesome! What are you writing at the moment? (If I'm not being too nosy! )

Yay Lin!!! The last 10! I think you should post the last one in your counting thread itself. Meanwhile, I'll go and prepare for the party!!

Well if you use the word "impressive" then I am even proud- ER ;). I did not think it was impressive in the sense that I really don't like the idea of having to pay three times to see one movie really. Where it made sense for LOTR it does not for TH (at least to me ;)).
As far as the ICC is concerned I have something almost finished for Diya. That woman is going to drive them all crazy but I was first waiting to see if Frelga, Bardy or Kaya were going to post this week before she interrupted their testosterone contest :P  =:) . Will put it up when I get back from my singing lesson tonight. But OTOH Moriel's expecting Gildae's answer :P ;) so the next move's yours.

LadyKat, Happy Bday :) hope you have a nice time even without TH.

siddharth wrote:earendil81, you are a writer? Awesome! What are you writing at the moment? (If I'm not being too nosy! )

I don't consider myself a writer, but I write and enjoy doing it. Something I discovered here back in 2002 when I first joined. Leoba - an amazing writer - got me into RP on these boards and I have been writing since then. Right now I write mostly RP in the Pony and poems in the Bards Guild but also some short stories as it is a great challenge for powerful yet constrained character building. And there are a few contest available on a monthly basis so it's nice to know I can have it put to the test if I want to. ;) ;)

Oops, sorry, Eari, I missed that...I shall have to rectify my oversight.

siddharth, you would be surprised with how many writers are slouching around these boards. There are numerous amateur writers and unpublished aspiring word smiths, but there are also a handful of published authors hiding in plain sight. It's a board dedicated to one of the most influential authors of the twentieth century, so it's no surprise some of those who Tolkien inspired hang out here.

Hey, I too wish to be a writer on the side. Well, I'm too young to say this but I have written several poems and short-stories in the past. They were mostly childish, 'cos I wrote them when I was small. But I do enjoy them when I read now, and I was really proud of it when I had written them. Sadly, at the moment I do not have the time for writing, but in the near future I hope to join the RPs and all soon! :D

Indeed, I am much humbled to be in the company of the elite (amateurs or published) writers here.
Thanks Guru. :)

Sid, I was planning on posting the last one in my countdown thread, so I'm one step ahead of you. ;) :D

LK, you are welcome! :D

I've always loved to write, and it's my dream to become a published author someday. I started writing a fantasy story a few years ago, and though I haven't had the time to do any serious writing lately, I plan to return to it when I feel inspired enough. I have so many ideas in my head, I could write a few books.. and I will, eventually. :D

I used to do a bit of RPing, but it's been a few years now. I was just mentioning to Guru that I'm probably a bit rusty. ;) :P

Lin, the secret to writing is to do it. A good technique I've been doing is setting out to write fifteen minutes every day. It doesn't matter what I write, but with few exceptions I'm getting words on to paper or computer screen. Works remarkably well.

Sid, she's taking a bit of a break at the moment...she'll be back eventually.

Guru: Give Vana our love.

I should do that...spend 15 minutes just writing instead of saying "I have to write for three hours straight!" or "I have no time!" I have 15 minutes.

It's remarkable how much can be written in fifteen minutes. Or, move up to half an hour. A lot of writers talk about writing 1500 words per day. Depending on how fast you can type, that's easily done in under an hour. Setting realistic goals is better than setting the goals you wish you could achieve.
