PCE Thread of Denial--More Denial than ever!

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Denying that there is frost creeping over my car's windscreen...and, how dare it touch my wife's veggies!

Avaunt thee, frost, and get thee hence;
be found beyond our new-built fence;
be brittle on some other plant,
but here be absent...or just...scant.
Away foul frost and nip at leaves,
trim the waterspouts or eaves,
take thy fabled, icy strength
and make thy mark... December... tenth!
The autumn I know and love in Calgary.

Frost already? My goodness! :)

Here, we're cold in the morning and sweltering by noon. I made the mistake of wearing a sweater to a meeting...and was so hot...

I'm denying that I've seen more insanity in the past 5 hours than anyone ever really needs to.

Fridays are optional, and I'd like to stay home, but I need the money.

It's too bad when they're optional that you can't still get paid if you stay home.

Part of both of my jobs got crazy. With the part-time reporting thing...I cover our local tourism authority. Normally the "Paper" I work for (it's online) doesn't cover them, but things have been getting interesting. They had a regular meeting and a special meeting this month and there's legal wrangling and resignations and insanity...and the police were called and the chairman had to yell at people to shut up...and he's the type of person who NEVER yells.

The the other one...I stay two to three nights a week with an elderly friend. He's pretty self-sufficient but can't be alone or he'll try to do things like drive. He has two sons from his first marriage and then five kids his second wife had that pretty much consider him dad. And they have taken on the care of him. But the one son has decided to put his dad and mom in the same personal care home, whether they want to go or not. :roll: And whether they want to be near each othe ror not. :roll: So they're trying to figure out how to solve this...and I guess I was adopted because they're coming to me for advice! :D

People are just...nuts.

Yes. Yes they are.

That sound like one wild meeting Iris. The cops were called? Really? :shock:

Denying I always wait so late to post on TORC. I don't know why I don't get here earlier in the day, especially on weekends.

Yup.

We were talking with our lawyer today, who happens to be one of the commissioners, and he said the crazy hasn't stopped. I guess one of the people who questioned his ethics embezzled money a few years ago... :roll: :lol:

So I told my editor, who covers the commissioner meetings, to keep her ears open tomorrow.

I'm denying I spent most of the weekend sleeping. I always seem to to that, and I don't know why.

Maybe not getting enough sleep during the week?

I wish I wouldn't do that. I have so much I want/need to do on weekends, and I only seem to get a small fraction of it accomplished.

Has anyone passed my post count yet? I truly do not know.

Now to the denial----I'm denying I'm so tired all the time.

Maybe I can blame it on the weather.

Vana, I don't think anyone will ever catch up with you; we must all look up with envy at your 3 rings (almost 4 really) and that beautiful blue wheel of death :P .

LK, I hope you feel better.

There's no denying I've been on sick leave since the end of August and I'm getting so bored. I'm meeting the vascular-neurologist (or whatever his name is) next Thursday and hopefully I'll be at work on Friday.

Eari darling sweet friend I am so sorry to hear of your health challenge. I do hope and pray that the doctor can help you get back to a better place. I am on oxygen now most of the time but at least now I can walk and do things without feeling like I am going to gasp and choke to death. It is a hassle but I would rather be breathing then struggling to breath.

I like the line in Freaky Friday (the newer one) where Jamie Curtis asks why adults are so obsessed with cleaning all the time. "Let's just don't and say we did!" :D

I was so accomplished today. I did all the laundry (save for some drying) and the dishes and also reserved a hotel room and reapplied for health insurance. Yet, had I not been feeling lazy, I could have done more.
