PCE Thread of Denial--More Denial than ever!

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Denying I have a physical early tomorrow morning. I hate this. I'll either get the good doctor who is reasonable and listens and doesn't condemn me for being overweight, or I'll get the bad doctor who is grumpy and tells me all the horrible things I"m doing. Same man, different moods.

The doctor appointment went really well. My weight is down, my numbers were all great. So...I guess I'm good for another year.

I can't believe it's been this long since I last visited TORC.
In fact I deny that it's been this long since I last visited TORC.
I've got some very good excuses but that's all they'll be, right.

In a nutshell, work's been crazy, I've been hospitalized a couple of times for little scares but all in all things are great.
The very good news is that we are expecting.
With a bit of help from science and medicine we'll be welcoming a boy this coming October.
If he decides to show up on the due date he should be born on Friday the 13th, which would be funny.

So it's been exhausting, demanding but as you can imagine I'm exhilarated. And scared and happy, and freaking out. All of it at once.
The baby's healthy and apparently growing fast - mind you my husband is 6'2" so - so every issue I've had so far was actually for me.
In fact the OBYG put me on sick leave on July 10 so I could relax because of contractions that were a bit too frequent for their taste.
So it's unlikely I'll go back to work before my mat leave which is supposed to start on September 1st.

2016 was tough in terms of health and they postponed the IVF after my TIA but you can imagine the entire process was under scrutiny by all specialists involved.
I've been well surrounded through it all and well in a bit over 2 months and a half we'll have a little boy in our midst. No name yet. We can't seem to find one we both like. But we're working on it.

@Iris, good to hear your physical went well. Here's to another year.

 everyone

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good.

It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free
