It's been so long since I thought of that place. Now I have a strange urge to go and see if they have a Captain Caveman doll.

I think I need to go sit in a quiet place until this urge passes away.

Good to see you back Billabob!!

rwhen darling, I am still around but have been so busy with work and medical tests and exhaustion that I took some time away. I am still tired but doing much better health wise!! Still have a stinking cough and congestion but hope that it will get better soon. At least I have avoided the dreaded surgery on the heart stuff. That was kind of scary for a while there.

Yes it is.

I had a busy, busy weekend, but I'll tell you about it later. I'm at work right now, and just as sure as I get into a long post, all you-know-what will break loose.

And I'm here by myself. :(

We only have three people (including me) that make up the office staff, and two of those people left today already. Family problems.

Anyway, it's just me and the doctor.

Oh joy.

Tennant is too thin and too manic for that. Fun to watch, but wouldn't want to hang out with him.

Peter Capaldi on the other hand . . .

Spent the entire weekend painting and hauling heavy things around. I'd forgotten just how heavy my old couch was and pondered the real need to have it moved into the new house temporarily until we can save up enough to replace it. Well, it's there now and, if the pain in my back and legs has anything to say about it, it'll stay there for quite a while.

I didn't do much this past weekend because I spent half the day Saturday at my miserable job. :ew:

I didn't WANT too, but my co-workers keep having to miss days for one reason or another, so I got really behind in my own work, cause I was having to do theirs.

I hope they don't keep doing that. I really hate working Saturdays, even if it's only a half day.

Yawwwnnn. Okay. I've recovered from that party. Or work, or not work, or it's Tuesday. I don't know.

Thank you all again for throwing me such a raucous and warm party. It says so much that is beautiful about you, and I am glad I entered this house. Also, I've brought more doughnuts--I think it's my M.O.

I spent Saturday helping out and enjoying a local Ren Faire and then Sunday making up for it in errands before I headed back for work on Monday.

LadyKat, I hear you completely. I'm working on the balance: getting my job done well and showing enough initiative to help out but not too much so as to get me in trouble (a.k.a. earn a "promotion" and/or get everything thrown on me). I get helping out, and I'm more than happy to do so. I'm just not into the "yeah, I'll take care of everything" anymore.

RD---thanks for the doughnuts. I was just wishing for something sweet to eat.

Renfaires are fun. I did not spend my time quite so pleasantly. Yesterday I went to the dentist, where I spent a good two and a half hours getting a broken jaw tooth filled/repaired. It took so long, the Novocain had almost worn off before he was finished. When I got home, my jaw hurt, in fact my entire head was aching.

So today I ran all the errands I would have done yesterday, if not for that.

Oh, and by the way, RD----it's MoME time again. You coming? :D :D

HHEEEEEEEELLLLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!!

echos through the house...

How is everyone? WHERE is everyone?

We had miserable weather today. Rainy, windy, chilly. And of course I had to do my shopping and run errands today.

By the time I got home I had sinus headache, so I blew off the housework and spent the rest of the day doing nothing. Much.

Just 11 more days. Eleven little days.

Got the flowers.

The flowers and the party favors.

The flowers and the party favors and the escort cards.

The flowers and the party favors and the escort cards and the drinks.

The flowers and the party favors and the escort cards and the drinks and the menu options.

The flowers and the party favors . . .

Just 11 more days.

I hope I remembered to buy the rings . . .

Sounds like it's all under control, hamlet. :D

Well, LK, we've been a busy buncha beavers around here. As if back surgery, a biopsy and hip replacement weren't enough...my mom is now working on cataract removal! :bounce:

Yes, both cataracts came due within six months of being OK (that was her last appointment, in April) so she had the first one removed last Wednesday and the next one either at the end of the month or sooner if they have a cancellation. So, we go see all kinds of doctors for follow ups, pre-surgery info, post surgery check ups...I am heartily sick of doctors. :P

Yes, I need to work on lists,
but I find my writing wrists
need to rest a bit and find
respite of another kind.
Thus my cyber-foot prints tread
into Middle Earth instead,
rather than that other place
where spreadsheets have a cold embrace.
Life has been a blurring whirl,
Said goodbyes to "Sunshine Girl"
Sent off Little Firely and true,
Arahn, needs a sendoff, too.
Sunshine Girl lives in Japan
married an American,
had a child--(my grandson). Cheers!
Will be there for three more years.
Married a Marine -- I pause --
he has ways to break men's jaws
with one punch...but we are friends...
and his grandfolks he defends!
Little Firefly has found
fertile academic ground
where here latent skills have bloomed,
where she is for nurse-craft groomed.
Arahn toils with awesome sums,
taking humble premiums
then setting funds to work...and lo!
How one's smaller assets grow.
Mrs. Parm and I? Well we,
quite ignored that age to be
filled with grand retiring thoughts:
we have found inspiring spots
to nurture talents, find new skills,
take more walks and fewer pills,
dance a little, have more fun,
than we once had beneath the sun.
Life is good, though things have changed,
lists of friends are now arranged
from A to Z, not AH to WAH,
(there was no pun intended...hah!)
Now life in Canada has shown,
how much our world has truly grown.
So fond hello's, to this great thread...
A pause in work...some play instead.

Blessings,
Parm :)
I love the worldI am in...

Hoping the best for you and yours, Iris.

So far, no catastrophic emergencies, though there's plenty of time between now and Friday afternoon for it to happen. I reminded her last night that if we had just eloped, it'd all be over now, but that got me a black eye.
