I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas as well. Mine was lonely and miserable. Although today I went and saw Star Wars with a friend. I liked it.

I haven't seen the new Star Wars movie yet. Don't know if I'm going to.

If I do, I'll wait a bit. I'm not in all that much of a hurry to see it.

Or most likely everybody's back at work. The bosses tend to frown on extracurricular activities on company computers.

I can sometimes sneak a post or two at work, but I usually just wait until I get home.

I can connect to the internet with my phone, but it just seems like too much hassle.

Especially when the computer is right there.

Perhaps no cat like this behaves,
but still I sense your cheerful waves.
Though months have passed, I am most glad

from your own heart, to newbies all,
and thus my poem in this hall.

Alas I have not heard from my fair sister of the boards in many months now. I miss her smile and friendly banter.
I am glad to see you still here though!

I am online sometimes very late at night or early in the morning my time so I do not see many on the boards when I pop on. I will be on a bit more scanty now since I am starting Pulmonary Rehab this Friday and will be doing the classes three days a week on top of working my two jobs. I think I am a glutton for punishment or something like that. Oh well, they will be teaching me how to properly breath while doing many activities that make me winded. Hopefully it will help me to recognize and know what to do before I am so winded that I can not catch my breath to calm myself. This class will go on for I believe 8 weeks three times each week. I am just hoping it helps me. Ryan and I enjoyed evening strolls but since last winter I have not had enough breathing capacity to make it much past the end of my driveway. Walking to my truck after work for a short block with a slight incline about does me in too. I want to breath and feel confident that I am not going to pass out or die from lack of air. Asthma sucks big time!

I miss folks here. I remember when this place was really lively and full of folks and so much fun to be with.

Now, it's a ghost town and a shell of its former self.

How the times have changed here, I agree Hamlet!

There was a time that this thread was started because someone found themselves alone on the message board one night and it flourished with our constant attention to those who were posting here. Alas, life has pulled many away and some no longer or very seldom even come online to visit with us now. I miss the old days too!

Well, they weren't that long ago but I do miss the frequent activity here.

Never volunteer for anything at work. Forever after, it becomes "your job."

About 11 years ago, being brand new to the company, I "volunteered" to help inventory and catalog company assets. For the next 11 years, this has been my job first in my department, and then in our group, then site, and then division.

My list now consists of over 10,000 items across five states and the whole of it is my responsibility now because once, 11 years ago, I offered to help out after somebody else left the company.

I hate my job.

I know what you mean. I hate mine too.

Something similar happened to me. About four months after I started, the receptionist quit. I thought a replacement would be hired within a week or so, but in the meantime I decided I would be nice, and helpful, and help answer the phone.

Big mistake. The other woman in the office ( who happens to be the doctor's sister) completely stopped answering the phone, and from then on it became my job to answer all calls and take care of anyone who walked in. AND I was still expected to do the job I was hired for, which was verify all patient's insurances, submit all claims, and deal with the miserable insurance companies. Since there aren't enough hours in the day, this was not possible.

It finally got resolved, more or less---I rarely answer the phone anymore---but it took a long time.

I wish this weekend wasn't over so I could do what I was planning to do. To explain---(cause I know everyone is just dying to know) :P

Several weeks ago, I bought some new file folders with the intention of clearing out my filing cabinet (and the piles of papers I have stacked around) and getting everything in Proper Order. So yesterday morning I got up, all ready to begin this momentous task.

Only I COULD NOT FIND my new file folders. :hair:

I looked in all the obvious places. Then I looked in all the unobvious places.

I was seriously considering going out and buying more, when I came across them. They were on the shelf in my coat closet.

Why I put them there, I'll never know. I must have just tossed them up there when I was putting my coat and things away, then got distracted by the phone, or the cats, or something, and never gave them another thought.

Since it was 7pm when I found them, it was too late to start on any sorting through this mess. Trust me, it will take the better part of two days. So my plans to be all efficient and Get Organized came to nothing. :bang:

Guess what I'll be doing next weekend?
