Patty Duke

I thought this deserved a mention since she's Sean Astin's mom and many people here probably remember her TV show, etc. :)

She passed away early this morning (Tuesday) from an intestinal rupture. :( Sean was quoted as saying she suffered for a while but I didn't gather what the initial illness was...

Sympathies to her family...her husband of 30 years, Sean, Mackenzie and her other son (whose name I don't know, unfortunately).

<-- Bastet, celebrating Mythology Month on the TVM!

I didn't see this before. (Of course, I don't come often.) I was sad to hear of her passing. I really like the Patty Duke show, and it wasn't even in my time. I saw it on an Oldie's station and really liked it, so I got all the DVDs on Netflix and watched them all. I thought it was a very funny, clever, well put together show. I couldn't figure out why there was something familiar about her that I couldn't figure out. And then, after she died, and I realized that she was Sean Astin's mom, I realized why. She and her son have the same smile.
