Anyone else have a crush on C3PO?

Only me?

Never mind, nothing to see here...

;)

Seriously, though, I sobbed like a baby when Han died in The Force Awakens. Why? Because next to Darth Vader, he was so awesome!
I loved him...and he was gone! And it was/is the most horrible thing in Star Wars since JarJar Binks!

Nothing is worse than Jar Jar Binks... :Q

But I think they had to kill Han off, have him killed by his son. It advances the story, Rey will want some sort of revenge maybe? gives people something to rally around etc.

Been going on since about 3 this afternoon
And it's suppose to let up about 7.
Just had a major crack go off above my house, too.
Love it!

Happy Birthday Lewie. Wherever you are.

Iris---the guy who played C3PO was kinda cute. Saw a pic of him once.

I haven't really seen many of the Star Wars sequels or prequels or whatever they are.

Probably should watch them....someday.....

After years of working in a Mexican place
I HATE Cinco de Mayo!
I prefer "The Revenge of the Fith"

But I'll have some guacomole and chips
And a chimichanga, too. :D

LK: TCM is having a marathon. Right now they're in the midst of Return of the Jedi. I don't know what's coming up next, or if they're going to continue tomorrow or what. It's 10:30 p.m. at the moment and I'm going to bed. :)

Calma: we had storms last night. It's been raining and cold here. In Israel, it was starting to hit the 80s regularly, so it was a bit of a system shock...

Iris, did you have a great time in Israel?
How's the job going?

Was beautiful weather here today.
Of course when I went out to water my flowers and tomatoes
It started to rain.
It was a short, but wet shower
Then the remainder of the day was sunny again.

Not liking Alderaan's weather outlook! :Q

I do however need to know Vegas/Grand Canyon outlook for the 22/23rd. Can't believe its only 2 weeks before I hit the US. I double checked my ESTA was done...can't arrive on the doorstep in LA and be turned away! :Q

Yay!!!
My babyman was scheduled for eye surgery at 330 pm today.
I got a call at 730 this morning saying they had a cancellation
And would we like to change appointments.
And come in at 845 instead.

 Would we?! Seriously?

Popped into the car and made the normally 25 minute drive in 15.
Was easy peazy surgery.
All went well and we're home and happy.
Happy because he doesn't have to go hungry all day long.
Happy because we don't have to battle the traffic coming home.

Yeah, early morning appointments are the best.

Yay Calma, that is good. My parents try for early appointments too. My dad is getting an infusion today as he has been soooo tired and low blood pressure of late.

Tooks, 27C sounds good.:) I am packing shorts and a couple of longer pairs of pants/trousers as I hear it gets a little cooler at night in the desert areas. But expecting New Orleans to be warmer...and hoooomid.

I thought the changes Lucas made to the original trilogy were overrated.
Hated when he put in the younger version of Adakin Skywalker
At the end of "Return of the Jedi".

Can't argue with this

My babyman had his post op check up this morning.
We left the house with plenty of time to get to the 750 appointment
But when I get to the freeway and it's backed up. (shakes head)
We have 20 minutes to get to Silverdale.
It takes us 10 minuets just to get through Gorst.
(Gorst is this little spit on either side of the freeway
But it's a bottleneck because of how they made the road.)
Once we get out of Gorst, it's smooth sailing
But we only have 10 minutes to get to Silverdale
Easily a 15 minute drive at the speed limit.

Yeah, Mommy was flying down the road.
70, sometimes 75 mph, but keeping up with the rest of the traffic.
And hoping there's no Stater waiting to tag me for speeding.
Got him there with 4 minutes to spare.

Gads, how do people put up with that every morning?
He's got another early morning appointment next Wednesday
Yeah, we're leaving a lot earlier....

I've only seen the original versions of the 1st trilogy once. So for the most part I've grown up with the special editions, overall the special editions are just a big meh for me. They don't radically change things but the things they do change are usually for the worst. If I had seen the original version more and grew up with them then I'd probably be frothing mad about it but as it is im just a little peeved.

I've only ever seen the original versions. I never knew there were any changes.

I did see that scene between Jabba and Solo once on some Star Wars special on TV years and years ago, but if I remember correctly, they were showing deleted scenes.

I do remember reading somewhere that they changed the shootout scene between Han and Greedo (is that his name?). The PC police didn't like the fact that Han just blew Greedo away with his gun under the table. No, it had to be "self defense." Greedo had to go for his gun first, then Han outdrew him, like in an old western.

I never saw the altered scene, I have the originals. And I'm gonna keep 'em too, even if they are on VHS tapes!!

Yeah your lucky I used to have the Star Wars movies on VHS tape but the tapes degraded and so did the player. The whole problem with the special edition is that George Lucas makes it too George Lucas. George Lucas is kind of like garlic to a Star Wars movie, in small amounts he brings a lot to the table, but if you have too much then it stinks up the whole thing.

Nothing to do with Star Wars, but I have a question.....

No matter what website I'm on, or what I'm doing, I hear ads. It's like the ads that are shown before some videos. I'm not watching videos, I haven't clicked on anything, but I still hear the soundtrack.

Like now, I'm on TORC, don't have any other windows open, but I'm hearing this ad for Travelocity. I've turned off the computer, left it off for several hours, but when I turn it back on, they're still there. I even hear them if I'm just on my desktop.

Any ideas on how to fix this will be appreciated. I can't even listen to my music because these stupid ads are playing over it.

Funnily enough, I'm wearing a Star Wars long sleeve top today to work. Did not even think about SW month here when I put it on. I just thought it was be comfortable to wear on the plane.

Hope you cleared up the ad problem, Calma. :cavetroll:

I got me some US dollars yesterday, no small bills though :(. Exchange rate sucks. Glad I have paid for as much as I can beforehand in my money. All I have to buy is food and souvenirs...and tipping. Must remember to factor that it. Hey, do I tip the shuttle driver who will drop me at my hotel? and how much? Any other hints about tipping for food? how much is the percentage now? I know waiters in the US hate aussies visiting as we are not good tippers...(as we don't normally tip except for exceptional service as our minimum wage is higher than yours.)

Hmm didn't know about the relationship between U.S. waiters and Australians.

I've just been pondering about Star Wars a lot lately (because I'm a nerd like that :)) and I recently compiled this list of my top five dream Star Wars "spinoffs" that could be made by Disney after the Han Solo movie.

1. A Knights of the old republic spinoff (well more like a spiritual adaption of the video game than an actual one). Actually you could probably make a trilogy

2. A Obi wan/Ben Kenobi movie

3. A bounty hunter movie (Having Boba Fett is optional)

4. A comedy centered on Cloud city (Bespin) set after the events of Return of the Jedi. Can you imagine the hi jinks Landó and Lo bot would get in.

5. and lastly a kind of noir style of film based on the scum of the galaxy (capital city of the republic) set after Return of the Jedi or during the clone wars when the galaxy wasn't so centralized. Essentially have it be about a cop who happens to be a robot hunting down a gang of criminals who are trying to sell illegal kaminoan clone technology to the highest bidder (or commit any other heinous yet crime).

10%, nl. Or as I do,
A dollar no matter how much the ticket is.
You don't have to leave a tip.
It's not automatic they get one.
Make them work for it
And remember they aren't the only one
Who put that meal before you.
If you feel like it, pass a buck to the cook.
The next time you go there,
Your meal will be better.

Just learned today is National Limerick Day!
In honor of the day, I'll did into my past success
And give you all one about two of my D&D characters.
