Fishies are tough to keep, toby. Some die early and some last a few years. :(

this is rather dissapointing, he was doing quite well i thought. The faux rock thingy in the aquarium has a small hole in one spot, like smaller than a fingernail, but he seems to have swam and got stuck where he couldnt figure out how to back out, so he tried to push through the hole and got his head and gills stuck. suffocated i guess.

I had a beta once. His name was Itty Bitty Baby Boo Fish.
I fed him regularly like I was supposed to and kept his little tank clean, too.
But he just up and passed one day.
I loved my Itty Bitty Baby Boo Fish
So much so that when he passed, I had to have my babyman give him his burial at sea.
I just couldn't do it.

Sorry you lost your fish, toby.

Aw, Toby, I'm sorry. :( Even fishies have personality and are good friends to talk to and watch...I've had a few myself.

:rose:

Fare thee well, fishy.

Haven't been to an amusement park in ages. Mine would just be old memories.

Good idea, though.

Cats vs Dogs?

Seems like I saw that somewhere... ;)

So, my surgery is scheduled for Nov. 9 at about 3:30 in the afternoon. They do some things different than my local hospital...I'll be allowed to drink "clear" liquids until 3 hours before. Their definition of clear and my definition of clear are two different definitions...they include coffee, tea, cranberry juice, Gatorade...I include anything I can see through. :P But they want me well hydrated, and they'll give me anti-nausea and pain medicine before, during and after. UPMC is on the cutting edge of a lot of this research and this is currently part of their "best practices" for a quick recovery and less-stressful event. I thank them.

Yea, it's nice that you won't have to starve all day, Iris. :D
We'll be thinking of you!

Maybe we could just go with any funny animal things in November. There should be a lot of stuff!!!1

I think I have some raccoon stuff around here. Speaking of raccoons, has anyone seen those 2? :?

I think we did favorite rides at amusement parks. Soon after I came on line here. Could be wrong though. Don't feel like looking it up. Funny animals is all right by me.

Iris----you're lucky. I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything after midnight the day of my surgery.

And I agree with you on the definition of "clear liquids." To me, coffee and tea aren't clear. if I can see through it---that's clear. :D

Haven't seen the raccoons.....should I be worried? :?

Funny animals, huh?

No raccoons. Possums, though. I cut up an apple and tossed the pieces towards it, to encourage it to hang around and eat ticks.

"Who ya got there?" Tony asked as he saw Louie struggling with a squirming lump of burlap.

"I got one of 'em tied up in here," Louie gasped. "Help me get 'em in the wagon."

The raccoons pushed and shoved until the abductee was safely in the red wagon. "mumpfth! muffsthesssss!" was all the burlap could muster.

Louie nodded. "I have the mouth taped up. Don't want 'em yelling and getting rescued or anything."

Tony clapped his handses. "The crew will be so excited that we are bringing back a lost ToRCer." He looked around. "Um, how to we get back to the TVM?"

"Just follow the trail I left," Louie replied.

"Trail?"

"Yea. I left a trail of little shrimpses to follow back to..." his voice trailed off when he saw the look on Tony's face. "YOU ATE THEM?????"

"I was hungry!" Tony called out as he turned and scampered away, with Louie soon in hot pursuit.

"muudfffs. msssffttthssss," replied the bag of burlap.

I'm ever so thankful that the last part of this month hasn't been its usual self.
Been rather nice actually.
No rain, sunny, and in the high 60's.
Excellent time for the furnace to go Kaput...

Went out on Friday. (DOA)
Landlord is getting estimates
But it probably won't be until Monday or Tuesday
Before anything begins.

Meanwhile, I'm in my sweater
Sable lent us a space heater
And we are surviving ok.
Just wish they'd get it going a bit faster is all.

Made a meatloaf last night.
Now having a meatloaf sandwich for lunch
Yummmm!!!

mmmm. Nothing better than meatloaf sammiches!!!11 I luvs them. :D

Luckily (?) Calma, we shelled out the big bucks for a whole new heat pump system a few months ago, when the weather was nice, as in the 70s. We didn't need heat or air for a few days until the whole thing was installed.

Thanks for the reminder, Ninui. Gotta find funny stuff myownself!11 :D

S'ok CR, we all get "got" occasionally. Looks like the hoax broke the internet briefly, though.

One day in the newsroom, several years ago, we got a phone call from a guy who was upset that Waylon Jennings had just died,
but we didn't have anything in the paper. Well, we were surprised and said we'd get back to him. A quick surf to Wikipedia showed that he WAS dead...and had died several years before. Our editor called the guy back and told him and he felt so bad for being mad at us...and for missing the whole thing!

We didn't get much, mostly wind. We got about 1 inch of rain, but some places further south of me got over 4 inches (Tooks?) Some meteorologists were calling it "Sandy Lite"
