The Emerald City Comic Con starts today.
Lots of guests of course,
But the one I'd love to see is Karl Urban.
Yep, the Horseboy is in Seattle this weekend.

Sigh.....

Wizard World Comic Con starts here tomorrow.

Jason Momoa aka Aquaman was supposed to be one of the guests, but he cancelled. :(

Still, we have David Tenant (the 10th Doctor) John Barrowman (Jack Harkness from Torchwood) and James Marsters to name a few.

I guess we need a new theme for March?

We haven't been to the beach for a long time. Any ideas of a nice sunny clime?

With fruity drinks with little umbrellas?
And cabana boys?

Sorry to hear about Roger Bannister's death today. The first human to run the mile under 4 minutes. (at least that we know of. Maybe some caveman running from a saber tooth tiger did the same??)

RIP Sir Bannister.

Bali? I'm in!

Sven! Some fruity alcoholic drink please!

There's a bar at the Dead Sea, where we went swimming last April, and it's called "The Lowest Bar in the World". That cracked me up...there are about three different meanings for that one. :D

Anyhow...

Our local con is bringing in people that voiced characters in Invader Zim and Animaniacs as well as actors from Supernatural. None of which I watch/watched or care to. Fortunately, we usually go for the vendors and costumes. Last year there was a group dressed as Severus Snape, Bellatrix and Mad Eye Moody and they were all spot on. I told them they had the best costumes I'd seen.

Iris---your con is getting actors from Supernatural? :Q

Who? Need names! NOW!!

Wizard World Comic Con was this past weekend. Jason Momoa (Aquaman from Justice League movie) was supposed to be here, but he cancelled, not sure why.

Too bad, as I would really have liked to seen him.

Stan Lee was also supposed to attend, but he had to cancel due to health reasons.

Stan Lee has had to cancel a lot of shows in the past year. :( I hope to see him someday. He's been in Pittsburgh a couple times.

LK, follow this link: http://www.scifivalleycon.com It has everything, the list of actors, location, prices, all the good stuff. :D Last year they had actors from Back to the Future and they were really nice guys...the father and the mayor. They also had an actor from Pirates of the Carribean, but he wasn't there when we were, and you had to pay. Two years ago it was John Rhys Davies and I got pictures but didn't work up the nerve to say hello.

If you have a moment,
Would you all send some good vibes to Sable?
She's been down with a cold for over a week now.

Today... I could barely hear her over the phone.

She has a doctor's appt. at 1030 tomorrow.
Let's all hope it's just a nasty cold....

Send Sable our well-wishes, Calma. and virtual hugs!

Two people from our church just died. This is turning out to be the year for funerals...it's March 9 and I've already been to...*counts*...well, counting these two it will be 6 viewings and a funeral.

We can stop now.

SVEN! Two martinis! And keep 'em coming!

Though she scared the poochies out of me
When she didn't answer her phone the two times I called.
it's a viral infection that should clear up in a week or so.

Yay. See, that Bali sunshine is good for people's health. Even 'remotely'. :D

Popular drinks in Bali :

1- Popular throughout most of Southeast Asia, black jelly, otherwise known locally in Bali as cincau, is a common addition to dessert drinks. The jelly is made from the leaves of the Chinese mesona plant, and is usually sold in markets in instant powdered form, just like carrageenan (seaweed) jelly. After it is processed, the jelly is cut in slices or cubes, then served with coconut milk, syrup and ice, or with condensed milk. The texture is not as viscous as green grass jelly. It is known among locals to aid in easing fevers, hypertension, and constipations. Sold less than a dollar a glass in local restaurants.
