I went for my follow up visit with my doctor this past Friday. He said everything is healing nicely so that's good news. I've noticed I'm not as congested as I used to be; it's a little better anyway. The doctor said it would be at least six weeks before I am fully healed, and I should notice continuing improvement during that time.

Right after the surgery, after I got the packing out of my nose, he told me to try NOT to blow my nose, but if it did, to do it gently. :?

I should have said "define gently."

I was so afraid of undoing something, that I mostly just dabbed at my nose with a tissue. I got pretty stopped up too, although the saline solution I had to spray up my nose helped some.

So, that's the Nose Update. I know everyone was just waiting on the edge of their seats. :P

Today I went to the movies, and I noticed THREE school buses in the parking lot.

Schools are bringing kids to see the movie "Black Panther."

WE never got field trips like that!

IrisBrandybuck and 0 guests.

I put deodorant on...honest!

LK: that's good news on the healing end of things. :D I think blow gently would be a little pressure. As opposed to when you really want to get the stuff out, so you fill your lungs and let it rip. You'll be all healed up just in time for Spring. :D

They took a field trip to the movies? Lucky kids. I bet it was either a treat for accomplishing something (maybe no absences first half of year?) or they're going to talk about history and culture.

What a way to ruin a movie. ;)

We went to one of the big theaters for Black Panther. I had a gift certificate for a free ticket and free large drink. We also got popcorn. I'm looking forward to a couple of movies: Ready Player One and A Wrinkle in Time. I read the book years ago (Wrinkle) and I'm wondering if I should re-read it or not before the movie...

See? This is what happens when I vanish for a little while! Drat.

LK, I hope you're doing even better today.

Things have gone crazy round these parts. New job (same company, new department). I'm Insecurity now, so that's always fun. They finally figured out, they think, what's wrong with Mrs. H. Thyroid Cancer undiagnosed for 3 years because the endocrinologist is an idiot and deserving of a big black eye. So, surgery this coming Monday in Manhattan (shudder). Hopefully that's it. if it's not, I don't know what the heck we're gonna do. A 3+ year illness is not a good thing.

Hamlet my prayers go out for Mrs. Hamlet too!! Please let us know how it goes. I have thyroid problems too. I have one side is destroyed by nodules that they say are benign and new nodules on the other side now. But they are doing nothing at this point and I think they should. So this year I will probably push for more tests or surgery to remove it. I can handle more meds but I don't want cancer. My prayers go out to you both!!!

Hey Frelga lady!!! How you doing?? Long time no see you! **HUGS**

Hamlet, if it's Okay with your, I'll put Mrs. H on our prayerline. Can I have a first name so I don't have to call her Mrs. Hamlet? ;) We don't use last names.

And give her great big hugs from all of us. :grouphug:

Today I got this notice thing in the mail telling my the factory warranty on my car may have expired and I need to call them to get some kind of extended warranty or I could be responsible for paying for all repairs. :Q

My car is 15 years old.

I'm sure it (the warranty) expired looooooonng ago. I've been paying for all repairs for years.

So after a good laugh, I shredded the letter.

A week ago today--or yesterday as it's after midnight----I fell and hit my head. I was inside at the time.

I have to keep the cats' litter boxes in the spare bedroom which is carpeted, so I use one of those big, plastic floor mats like you'd see in an office under the boxes. I had moved the boxes to clean off the mat, and I caught the edge of my shoe on the edge of the mat. I went down before I knew what was happening. On the way down, my head encountered the very sharp corner of a bookcase.

It is true----scalp wounds DO bleed a lot.

I hit the side of my head just above the left ear. Blood was pouring out, all over the plastic mat, my hand, (which I had put to the side of my head) and my face. I looked like someone out of a slasher movie. Staggered into the bathroom where I held a bunch of wet paper towels to the side of my head with one hand, and mopped the blood off my face with the other. I finally got the bleeding slowed down enough so I could put an ice pack on the cut.

No, I did not go to the ER. Yes, I probably should have, but I didn't. At least not until the next morning, early.

I know, I know, but I didn't feel like spending Sunday afternoon in a hospital ER. If I had had any after effects like dizziness, nausea, pupils not reactive to light, unable to move my head or pain in my neck, then I would have had someone take me. But fortunately, none of that happened. The cut was so small, they wouldn't have put stitches in it even if I had come in right away. They told me that when I did go in. Aside from a terrific headache and a sore, swollen bump on the side of my head, I seem to be OK.

So, what's up with everyone else? :D
