HEEELLLLLOOOOOOOOOO the home alone thread

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Well. My apologies for being away for far too long but life has been . . . challenging.

However, I've promised myself a loooooong catch up very soon - this weekend is looking promising.

The weirdest is when I'm going through the Books Forum, in some obscure thread from like 2007 or something, and it says:

Or back in the day when there would be hundreds!! Although I don't think it used to list who the registered members were who were about. But I also have a terrrrrible memory, so I could be wrong.

The thing I'm curious about is what was going on back in 2016 to prompt 1000 users to be online at once, and just three years later it's 24???

After a very long absence I come back with a request.

Anyone reading this I ask that you send prayers, good thoughts, healing vibes or whatever you believe in for my sister. This past Friday she had surgery. She had been having chest pains, and they found all four arteries had major blockage. She had to have stents placed, then about 20 minutes later she was back in surgery because blood clots were forming. She's home now, but doesn't seem to be doing too well. She's tired all the time and her appetite's off. Maybe it will just take more time for her to recover, but if anyone who's willing would keep her in their thoughts I'd be very grateful.

Her name is Sue, btw.

Thanks guys.

Sue's doing ok. Not great, but ok. She has good days and not so good days. The doctors told her it could be six months or more before she's back to normal, whatever that might mean. She's a diabetic too, so that doesn't help matters. I try not to worry, but it's hard.

Thanks everyone who ask about her, and huge thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. Yes, please if you will, continue. :)

Talking about feeling rather alone today!!

LadyKat friend, you know we do care about Sue and you as well. For my part, it is that TORC is something that has become too hard to visit as so many people have passed, friends...folks I have known from my first days at TORC and not to be able to write or role play with them any more has been hard, about impossible.

But today I have made a new promise in friend Calma's name to visit more often and let people who have stayed and worn the test of time to know that I appreciate all of them and care deeply for them.

HEY noobs to the thread. Always welcome. Bring a book, settle in a comfy corner and munch on some of the great food that always seems to show up, especially when Tooks steals my TORC credit card and dials in for pizza delivery ;)

*hangs Calma's picture next to vison, Rowan, Alex, oldtoby, CR, Prim and more*
