Hi Syl, thanks. They are my own photos from places I have been. I don't know if you can upload anyone else's work without it being copyright? Who knows. But I must say I found it quite addictive making them. I've also been going through them to make sure they are fine and in focus. Well not those over 100 pieces yet.

I think it's the 50th anniversary of Let It Be as well.

:D :D :D

Episode 1 of "Theduffsters"……cue theme music….. the Jetsons……

------

An adorable 12 year old boy comes bursting through the back door. He kicks off his skis and runs to the kitchen counter.

"Wow!!! Look at the money I made on my paper route today!"

He counts the coins carefully.

"$6.35!! Cool! If I put this in my piggy bank I’ll have $42 saved up! I can almost buy that new video game!"

Suddenly a change comes over the boy….

"Oh, no! It’s happening again. I don’t want it to…."

But it’s too late. The boy has morphed into a lovely, somewhat muscular (from shoveling snow) suburban housewife/mom.

Ok, so I was a nervous wreck yesterday. At 9am I saw a tiny fawn curled up hidden in the flowers near the edge of the yard. It did not appear in distress at all. But I was. All day, waiting for it to get dark to see if mom would come back and get it. 12 hours later, the little thing went off with mom and the rest of them... I heard them rustling the leaves as they went into the woods. Thank goodness! :D :D

nl, you need to hold a nice hot drink in your handses when your fingers get cold. But I'm glad you had use for the gloves. ;)

Oh Tooksie!! I know exactly how you felt. Several years ago, before I discovered that mother deer are pretty neglectful, I spent an entire day worrying about twins who had been abandoned in our back yard. They cried and called and yet no momma. I finally called the Humane Society's Wildlife hotline and was told "They're fine" After many hours here comes mom, GAP bag in one hand, a Starbucks latte in the other.

Have you warmed up nl?? I forget you live in upside down world  The day you posted it was 80 here. I'm not ready for summer - never am, hates it I do.

More Duffsters please.......

Syl, I have a nice warm coffee at the moment. I'm washing my winter clothes as they smell like cupboard and hopefully be warmer. Trying to plug all the gaps around windows as well. It's only going to be 18C here today, not cold for you guys, but a little for me. Currently 11C.

Wow, deer in your yards! The only things I get are possums and bush turkeys and a very occasionally rabbit.

They are going to let more of us out this weekend. You can meet up to 10 people or have 5 people in your home and the pubs could be open. We will probably get a small spike in Covid numbers but hopefully only a few...or they will lock us away again.

Continued as promised.....

"Whew. That was close. I need to send that $42 to my dear daughter Rebecca, who is slaving away as a sophomore at college, and no doubt close to starvation, the poor dear. I must email her and tell her I’ll be sending it."

Theduffster sat down at the computer.

"Hmmm. Let me see what is going on at TORC first…… Oh my! I didn’t realize that my premiere membership will soon expire. I must renew!"

Theduffster thought about the $42 in the piggy bank.

"That will keep me on TORC for a while. I’ll just bake some cookies and send them to Rebecca."

Meanwhile....Back at college.....

Rebecca sits huddled in her dorm room, wrapped in a blanket.

"Boy, I sure am hungry. Luckily the store had a sale on this good Hamster Chow. Yum!"

To be continued.....

--------------------

nl, I get lots of deer in my yard. They often eat stuff I don't want them to.
But that's okay. They are running out of places to live. Thankfully there is a 300 acre orchard nearby, so they have room to roam there (but not much cover!)

Stay careful if they open stuff up to you. Don't be like stoofid people we see on the news. :P  :nono: :Q :hair:

Episode 2 of ‘the duffsters’

Cue the theme song for 'The Jetsons'.............
--------------------------------------------------------

theduffster hummed a simple tune as she watered her plants in the basment.

"I just love starting seeds to plant outside in the Spring. It just makes the end of the winter so much more cheery!"

At the top of the stairs theduffster's nameless teenage daughter looked on.

"Look at that! All I ever hear about is Rebecca, Rebecca, Rebecca, or my new oven, my new oven, my new oven, or my plants, my plants, my plants, or my buns of steel, my buns of steel, my buns of steel. Nobody around here even remembers my name! I hate them! I hate them all!"

The nameless teenage daughter looked around in desperation.

"What can I do to make her notice me? Wait as minute................"

The nameless teenage daughter looked more closely at what her mother was doing downstairs.

"I have an idea! "

The nameless teenage daughter giggled maniacally as she ran out the front door.

Theduffster came back upstairs, springing up each step thanks to her buns of steel. She then began to whip up a batch of apple/cinnamon muffins.

Later that day........

A knock was heard at the front door.
theduffster quit counting her paper route money and ran to open it. But it wasn't her wonderful daughter Rebecca like she expected.

"Hello, Mrs. theduffster, my name is Sergeant Friday, and this is my partner Jim Saturday. We're with the vice squad."

"Hello Friday and Saturday! Would you like a muffin?"

"No thank you, ma'am. What are in those muffins?"

"Why...apples...flour....sugar.........."

"Can we see what you have in your basement, ma'am?"

"Oh course! My plants are down there. Do you want some 'Love Lies Bleeding' seedlings? They are doing very well!"

The officers didn't answer. They went into the basement, with theduffster close behind. She was thinking to herself....Ha! My buns look better than theirs!

"What is this, ma'am?"

"What? That plant? Well, you know I'm not quite sure. I picked up those seeds in a field a few miles from here because I thought they had a stately elegance. I needed to add some stately elegance to my garden."

"Excuse me, ma'am, but you know this is cannibis sativa. I'm afraid you're under arrest, ma'am."

"But....wait....it can't be......I won BEST MOM award for heaven's sake!!!!"

No one heard her cries as theduffster was loaded into the back of the van.....

My husband says that song is about a really whacked-out relationship: two people trying to cheat on each other, and when they find out that it's each other, they just laugh and pick up where they left off before they got bored... Where's the essential trust??

Episode 3 of ‘theduffsters’ cue theme music….

From the diary of the ‘nameless teenage daughter’:

Dear Diary,

Mom was released from prison today. Dad said to make sure I don’t mention anything about orange jumpsuits.
Ha Ha.
I intend to work it into the conversation at dinner tonight.

My silly sister Rebecca has taken to spending all her spare time in the basement.
What’s up with that? She claims she loves to solder copper pipes together, and she’s supposed to be making some fabulous artistic creation. Bah!
Later on I plan to sneak down there and make sure there are no more ‘plants’. I don’t think those solder fumes are very good for you either. Well, better her than me.

Well, I gotta go, dear diary. One of mom’s friends (the one with the triplets born on Thanksgiving Day) is going to be here to help welcome mom home. I have to make sure we have enough APPLE juice.

-----------------

Article published in the Tribune-Democrat:

March 24, 2003—The home of theduffsters was the scene of confusion and disarray this past weekend.

Postal inspectors raided the house at approximately 3:15 pm on Saturday, only to find they were unable to enter the house. A spokesperson for the postal service reported that they were raiding the home because a package mailed by Mrs. theduffster leaked a white, powdery substance during shipment. The package was supposed to be delivered to daughter Rebecca at college.

‘You know what kind of radical kids they have on college campuses nowadays,’ the inspector said. ‘No telling what that stuff was going to be used for.’

However, plans of the inspectors were thwarted because they could not gain entrance to the house. The back door was found unlocked, but when they opened it the inspectors found a jumble of copper pipes welded together throughout the house. The inspectors made it no farther than the kitchen sink before they gave up.

‘I dunno,’ one inspector (who wishes to remain anonymous) told us. ‘The lady said the white stuff was just like plaster of paris or somethin'. After seeing the house, I’m inclined to believe they’re all crazy, but harmless.’

Mrs. theduffster was not available for comment. Apparently she was on her daily paper route

-------------------

Good evening, This is Terri Jones for the WJAC 6 o’clock news. Thank you for joining us.

Today’s top local story: Three pounds of weapons grade plaster of paris was confiscated at J***** College yesterday afternoon. The illegal substance was discovered by the mail service at the campus when an employee noticed suspicious white powder leaking from a heavy package.

The package was addressed to one of the students at the college, and surprisingly the return address was the student’s home here in town. A SWAT team was sent to the house, but found it empty except for some postal inspectors caught in copper pipes that were set as booby-traps throughout the house. An anonymous tip sent the SWAT team to the ski slopes, were they engaged the suspect in a dramatic downhill chase on sloppy snow. Unfortunately, the suspect escaped, based on her prime conditioning and buns of steel.

Film at 11:00.

-----------------

The Washington Post
April 1, 2003

Today federal agents finally captured an elusive fugitive from justice. The fugitive, known only as ‘theduffster’, has been on the lam for several weeks. She was wanted for questioning in the ‘white powder in the mail’ case, eluding federal agents on the ski slopes, and the illegal use of copper pipes.

"We received a tip that theduffster was at her home," stated the FBI agent heading the case. "We surrounded the house, then entered through the back door. Luckily the suspect did not put up a fight, but we had a difficult time getting her out of there anyway. Seems she had soldered herself into a corner of the dining room and couldn’t get out. We had to go in there with blow torches, and it still took us an hour to release her. Then we had to let the suspect use the bathroom, since she’d been trapped for half a day."

A lawyer for the defendant stated that the whole situation was just one big mistake. "My client is just an innocent stay at home mom. Why can’t you people leave her alone?"

Authorities are also considering child welfare charges against the suspect, who has two daughters who have never been named.
