Hello TVMers!!!

I wish I would have come here before choosing my fall photo......all your barns look so nice.....and even some cross stitch from Tookssies......that is the sort of thing that I buy and start and then get unmotivated by a shiny object.... ;) Kudos for getting it all done.

Here is my Fall photo....

Image

Wolf Blood Moon....comes from fall to winter....I doubt I have ever seen one like that.

Rosie.....love your Hobbit Hole photo from NZ and your trip. AND I would love to see a photo of your Farmers Market!!! :D *jumps up and down in anticipation*

Witchie....great barn and with taking care of the horsies, you need a barn like that. It is lovely as is the rest of the property.

Sable keep us updated on your dental project. I really hated them until I got my full dentures.....now.....not something I have to worry for. So all you with dental insurance that is going skyhigh.....I am sorry. :grouphug:

Have a great day TVMers!!

Witchwench---yep, for most dental and vision plans you're better off just putting what you would spend on the premium in the bank and saving it. Those plans don't give a good return for your money, especially dental.

Hmmm....pictures of barns, talk about barns.........

Are we having a barn raising?

I apologize, I do so love barns...hijacked the Autumn thread

But speaking of autumn...my leaves are definitely starting to turn, not quite falling en mass, but a few are starting to drop...beautiful day out there right now.

Vana, that was my conclusion as well..better off just saving the money

Nothing wrong with a beautiful barn! I like your cross-stitch Tooks.

Witchwench.. were you able to add your siggy pic back into your posts through the user control page or do you do add it individually on each post?

Let's see .. how 'bout some hearty stew for fall.

coolest bonsai I have ever seen..looks like a miniature Lothlorien. I haven't ever seen a deciduous bonsai before, they have all been evergreens or succulents. And look, it's changing color!

Scribbles, Sable and so many coming back!!! I am loving this!! :happydance:

Wow so much snow in so many places, please feel free to keep it. I prefer my winters here.. a little snow maybe a week or so out of the entire year. Rain I can handle, though we sometimes get flooding but not at my home. I am going to just go with the flow of the fall and winter this year. I will just try to stay home as much as possible.

Loving the pictures and I absolutely love old barns.

I revisted a passage just now in LOTR. The passage reminds me of autumn and of Torc..it reminds me how we all get old, now that I'm reading it with more years behind me than in front of me, I see it's sweet and poignant words that I missed when I was younger.

I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
in summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.[3]

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think
of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door.[4]

You know..there is a rendition out there by a woman, beautifully done, sounds like maybe an elf is singing it..but it's not as poignant as this rendition, nor, imo, as sweet..this one really does sound as if Bilbo is singing the song.

Ah yes, the "S" word . . . apparently Calgary is going to be hip deep in it by this coming weekend. HAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

It's not supposed to get as far north as we are, but just to be on the safe side, I harvested all my tomatoes and brought them in to ripen where it's safe from frost.

Thanks Witchy for that quote . . . it makes me realize that it's been far too long since I've read both the Hobbit and LOTR books. Something to think about doing during the coming *shiver* season - curled up on the couch with the fireplace going, yep. ;)

For now however, I'll settle for the brilliant leaves and the cool mornings. And all the yard work . . . oi!

Is there any coffee or stew left? Looks yum!!

hi to all who have snuggled into the TVM for autumn.

I agree with Tooksie. Autumn...sorry Fall is the best season. The prettiest imho. I love how all the leaveses change colour, though we don't have too many of those kinds of trees here in Oz. And we are going into Spring now. Warm days, cool nights. I dread summer though. It's always horrid and I have no A/C at my place. A friend has me cat sitting for two weeks and she has AC and Amazon Prime!

Barns. I saw a lot of those lovely things travelling in the east of the US years back. Around Vermont and New Hampshire mostly. So lovely. Our barns tend to be called sheds. And never that lovely red colour.

oooh speaking of things that are red, I'm heading to the middle of Australia to Uluru next weekend, that huge red just sitting out in the middle of nowhere for who knows what reason. But it is beautiful and I love looking at rocks and canyons. Shame I can't drag the Wench along with me. She would be able to tell me all about the rocks.

nl....have a grand time on your trip. Wenchy.....where the devil is she anyway!!!

Tooks....I love that saying....but I am torn....while I love fall....I love spring...watching everything come up and out again, the birds singing brightly, the first tulips or cherry blossoms .....then after a long summer....I LOVE the fall....all the colors changing....the crisp night air.....

Sorry you didn't get the rain I sent to you....maybe it is still on the way. ;)

Oh and I don't work today....but the next three I do.....tomorrow afternoon and then Sunday and Monday closings....(unless I get a call in for today, which I hope i don't, I have a whole chicken ready to roast..)

Here is today's photo....harvest time

notty, that sounds like so much fun..going into the Australian outback..I always wanted to go riding in that area. But first on my riding bucket list is the South Dakota Badlands and Custer State Park...I want to ride, with the Dances with Wolves theme playing in the background, lol...ahhhh dreams we all have, that each are unique. Congrats on your upcoming journey, I hope it meets your expectations.

Tooks that is a perfect sentiment, fall twice is an excellent notion.

rwhen you are a hard workin' woman! Sheesh..do you get a chance to sit ever? hugs to you

Anyone else out there tonight?

Harvest season is definitely coming, look at the corn here, all golden, in about 2 weeks they'll start harvesting

Tooks! *falls over laughing at the photo* Now, who is that poor, hapless gal? tests the edge of her broadsword... I think you've had more than your share of fun with that tape . . .

I too, could do Fall twice but I think I'd miss the cross-country skiing in the winter. Of course, winter could be a tad shorter. Just, y'know, sayin' . . . :P

waves at notlistening Uluru! Take lots of pictures. ;)

Sooooo rwhen, did that chicken get roasted? Inquiring (and hungry) minds wanna know. :D

I have a ToDo list longer than both my arms and definitely NOT enough weekend to get it all done. I think I need to clone myself . . .

My latest harvest of tomatoes. Didn't get many this year. Alot of the cherry tomatoes but not alot of this size.
I think it might have been the lack of sun that stunted their production. So very tasty though.

evergreen trees. I love love love the green!!!

Cheeze Louise, first it's "where the heck IS Scribbles?", "you need to post more Scribbles", "you only need a few more posts, Scribbles" . . . and now I'm not spa . . . er, posting fast enough?

... crickets ...

Yeah. That's what I thought . . . ;) :P ;)

It's turned very cool here and while I was slaving in the yard, a few wee, teeny white things started falling. At first I thought it was the dried petals off the potentilla bush, until one melted in front of my very eyes! NOOOOOOOO!! Luckily, there wasn't much and it didn't last long. *shiver* I am sooo not ready for THAT season . . . not yet

drools over rwhen's Foodie News . . . That just sounds so much better than the shrimp stir fry I'm going to be making. ;)

Sable, those tomatoes are awesome! We had the same problem here too - way too cool and not enough sun this summer. (but we needed the rain, so not a total loss)
