I vote for MoME Month!

In response to Calma, I have never named a car – but one of my sisters named her car Ethan. The name Emperor Troy is just wonderful.

Hello, everyone! Am I too late to charge the spammers? I brought canisters of whipped cream.

My current car is named Betsy. All the family cars when I was growing up had names too.

Aww, I was hoping to get a glimpse of MoME, it's a shame we don't have the people to do it this year.

I'll take the whipped cream, Melwa! :D

How many people do we need to do something in the style of MoME? We may be few, but we are warriors, each and every one of us. We've got a Took and a Brandybuck. We've got me, the tall, good-looking God of Thunder/Dwarf Prince in Exile, what more do we need?

Apologies for me tardiness, work has been busy since I returned from traipsing around the globe.

My current car is called Shadow (soft and swift as shadow) He's black and a male car because it keeps telling me/suggesting to change gears. ;) That is annoying as I really don't need 6th gear to go up hills.

Alas, my brain does not have the capacity for MOME this year.

Sorry I have been AWOL today! Had an interesting morning.

I was taking my dog for a walk and found an abandoned dog tied to a railing along the trail. Two hours later, after calls to the police, humane society, etc, me a some other fine citizens got her loose and I took her to the Humane Society myself. I would hope they follow up on the investigation, since abandonment is now a more serious crime in PA. She was scared and reactive when she was tied up, but turned into a kissy sweetheart once on a leash and headed to the car. She tried to crawl into my lap while I was driving...that didn't work too well. :D
The poor thing was skinny and needed a bath. She otherwise seemed healthy, and I hope she'll be ok!

Sooooo. Many of my plans for the day were derailed. I will get into MOME remembrance mode by tomorrow!!!

Aw, Tooks, that poor dog. I can't imagine who'd just leave a creature tied up like that.

A neighbor's cat took to hanging out in my front yard. It's an adorable black kitty, but it keeps giving me a heart attack when I open my door and it does a vertical take off from under my feet.

I haven't managed to follow a MOME in years let alone wrote in one. I don't even remember if the Living King of Rohan[COPYRIGHT SIGN] ever won.

This MoME will be fun! Hello, Frelga! I haven't really had the chance to say hi to you yet :)

Great job, Tookish! A few years ago, me and my family helped a black and white cat (we named her Oreo) who was lame in her back leg she just showed up one night, scratching at the back door. She's since been adopted, and is in good hands. :)

Well, I don't think we can actually do a MoME this year. Not enough participants any more. :(
I was figuring we could revisit some old stories and pics of past MOMES. :D

As for the weiners.....

Gollum,
Isildur,
Frodo,
Irolas,
Benny (the cave troll),
Bard
The Living King of Rohan™(Éomer),
Legolas.
Boromir.
The Black Serpent
Thorin Oakenshield
Sauron
Grima Wormtongue
Finrod
Gamling

Thought for certain that Gamling and I would loose after the essay on how you would take the crown from Aragorn. Was trying to "parody" The Man In The Iron Mask". Felt all the chances slip away when another contestants hopeful stood up and said they didn't want the crown and here's poor Gamling saying that he would right in front of two kings !!
But lo and behold the Rider of Rohan won the day !! Still very happy about it.

The weary Tookish Traveler entered the Prancing Pony late in the evening. The crowd was raucous, and no one noticed as the Took settled into a small corner table.

"A pint, when you can," our traveler called out to the harried barkeep. He nodded and turned to pull a pint from the barrel...

Is this roleplay? I want to join, but I don't know what to do! Are there rules? Am I taking myself too seriously?

Thor glanced over warily from his own table – the Tookish Traveler was clearly well known around here, whereas Thor himself was a newcomer to this strange and exciting new land. The God of Thunder, known to many as the man who never took directions, never went to anyone for advice, knew that unless he learned the ropes quickly, he would be a goner. Reluctantly, nervously, he stood and made his way to the traveler's table.

"Well?," Thor said to the traveler, as quietly as he could. "I'm not a veteran like you. Tell me how to play this new game."

Haha, I'm not so good at this. Anyway, that's my little bit of roleplaying  It's fun, though! (I feel so embarrassed; I don't even know the rules, and I'm already trying to play along!). Carry on, please.

TOOKS! Poor puppy. :( But I'm glad you found her, and you and others helped her. For every a****** out there, there are good people to counteract them.

It's probably a good thing that I'm not in charge of the world.

So, Rob had a pre-op appointment Wednesday. Two freaking hours. I was sitting it the world's coldest waiting room too...and I had worn a sweater! Anyhow, they called the next day and told him they didn't like his EKGs...he had two...TWO!...extra lines of beats going on. So he had to call his regular doctor and went to see him Friday. His cardiologist told him he's had at least one heart attack in the past. The hospital told him he's had at least two. But his doctor told him Friday that he's still good to go on the surgery, as long as everyone is aware of the situation. We have to take his C-PAP with us. Ugh.

I'm afraid I may have to kill him before the 5 months is up, though... ;)

Even as Thor had been making his way to Tookish's side of the room, he had noticed the Cat Lady watching from her corner. Begrudgingly, he admitted to himself that she was everything he aspired to be here at TORC. But it would take a bit more than just five cats of his own to reach her level of prestige. He sat up a little straighter in his seat; he would make Calma – and all of TORC – proud of him.

 Well… It's a daunting experience, being new to TORC! You know, being new, trying your best to keep up with some of the most wonderful people I've ever had the pleasure of talking to – other things come and go, but TORC is steady. I have to reiterate… :TORC:
So, uh, yeah…um, I'll just get some sleep, I guess. It's been a long day.

Yow. You've had some 'exciting' days, Iris. Everything should go smoothly since the doctors understand his history now. 8)

Thor, there are some RP's that are meticulously planned out, but we never do that here at the TVM. :D
We may start out in a pub and somehow find ourselves riding llamas into battle against a cave troll. The only given is that there will be a food fight at some point... ;)
It is like the '3 word story' in Tom's House, only with more words. Usually.

Well met, Thor 'n' Oakenshield.

Has someone duct taped him to an immovable object yet?

Tooks, good job on freeing that poor pup. I hope it finds a good home.

Iris, sorry about your man Any chance the operation can be moved earlier?

As for MOME remembering...that could be fun and easier to do than an actual competition. I'll see if Mal is up for a pub crawl. Sad to see that Aragorn, a king no less, has never won the thing. :Q And I feel that Faramir should have won for the feetsy pyjamas alone.

So, what's up? Sorry I've been gone for a while, but a lot has been happening. None of it good. But.........

Way to go, Tooks!!! :yippie:

Glad you saved that poor pup. Hope they catch the jerks who abandoned it.

So we're not actually doing MoME, just revisiting the old ones? Wish we could do a new one, it was fun being a judge. I could do with some fun right about now.

We're just gathering to reminisce huh? Maybe Salem and I can join Tooks at the pub later.
