The TVM -- Yay for Autumn!!!!

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Love the forest and the birdies. We have lots of goldfinches around here. I love getting Christmas cards from folks in Europe - many of them feature the robin. :D :D :D :D

Today I celebrate caves and caverns. Here is one near me:

rwhen we went by Multnomah Falls back in May on our way to Hood River! It is magnificent!

Tooks caves scare the hell out of me because of my claustrophobia! They do look cool though in pictures.

Ninui the state bird of Washington is a ........SLUG! That has been the joke for years but the yellow finch is a very pretty bird.

I am loving all the videos!!

Garter snakes are abundant here too! Luckily where we are there are no poisonous snakes! So I do not worry about them.

I love eagles!! We have them here a lot!! So majestic!

Butterflies galore!! Pretty, for some reason we don't see many at all here.

Very glittering caves!!! Tooks, those caves are lovely.

Nearest ones to me are about 2-3 years into the mountains. I've only been to a few: Jenolan, Weliington and soemwhere down south. I can't recall the name but I do rememebr our jeep ran over a black snake on the road.

I got a small pay rise this week! so can pay bills and maybe plan bext years holiday. I really want to see Petra!

ooh look, snacks!!

Sorry I haven't been on here in a couple of days - my little Gatsby is a Coton de Tulear: they're apparently a breed that originates from Madagascar, which is pretty interesting. I'll have to see if I can get him to stay still long enough for a good picture (not to mention having to figure out TORC's image-posting guidelines!). But I've included a link below to a picture of a very cute one that looks a bit like Gatsby. They're just the most adorable little dogs.

I can't believe it's September already! I love the Autumn: I can already feel the weather cooling down a bit, which is nice for the moment after the sweltering heat of the last few months - but I'm sure that feeling will go away when the icy winds start gnashing and gnawing and all that.

Cute little doggie, Thor - n. Saw them on Westminster earlier this year. It was the first time they were "recognized" for Westminster. Do they only come in white?
Tooks. how about all things fall in general. Colors, sporting events for fall only, maple syrup even !! Maybe it was done already but only thing I could think of.

Anyone else ?????

Streets of fall.

Me too. And I am not a Hobbittsessss.

Grand Canyon? I have been there twice....once as a kid, but about 15 years ago I went with a beau to celebrate the finalization of both our divorces. :P It was amazing. We got up early enough to watch the sunrise. Takes your breath away. Hmmmm. Isn't that a song? *runs*

Interesting info, LK. I don't think I have anything to be late for on the 5th. One advantage of being retired. :D

But... Friday the 13th. Hmmmmm....we can have a nice party for that.

Canadian Geese!! They always show up here in the fall.....loud, large and well....they leave droppings everywhere. I try and shoo them back to Scribbles, but they don't listen. (plus I think she would just send them back again) :)

Image

Sweaters, Ninui, I love sweaters too. Large ones, comfy and warm.
Thor'n, spring and fall are also my favorite seasons. The trees here are more the fir and evergreen variety, so little color changes, but I sure remember living in Maine and it was spectacular to see all the fall colors.

Tooks, thanks for taking care of that. Yesterday I swear people were tearing the Christmas items off the shelf. *shakes head* A trip with your mom? Interesting dream .... Oh I saw a squirrel yesterday with something bright and shiny in his little paws...then he put it in his mouth and ran off. Reminded me of you know who. I didn't have my phone with me to take a snap of it, but you would have appreciated it. :D

Howdy all TVMers!! Enjoy the weekend.
