Just thought I'd throw this here. For a giggle.

It's about a 10 minute drive from my house, and I know the chef personally, but I've never actually been in the place.

Looks like a nice place Hamlet....I know that area. Grew up south of there....well, an hour south. Heading to Jersey tomorrow....I'll wave to ya Hamlet. :) My brother is playing with his band at the concert in the park series in Lawrenceville and I want to see him, so we planned a visit around the concert.

Thanks for the wishes. It was nice and subdued. And I got ice cream cake.

Funny.....I actually thought Arlo was older. Hmm.

Yeah, NJ really can be a beautiful place if you go west of the urban blight. I've always been in love with the North of the state, really. But I'm horribly biased. If I had a camera, I'd be taking pictures of some places.

And I share mine with Woodrow Wilson Guthrie, b. July 14, 1912.

It seems I'm a little late getting this one up. :)

Times haven't changed much since when Guthrie sang this song.

Jolly Banker
by Woody Guthrie

My name is Tom Cranker and I'm a jolly banker,
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
I safeguard the farmers and widows and orphans,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

When dust storms are sailing, and crops they are failing,
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
I check up your shortage and bring down your mortgage,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

When money you're needing, and mouths you are feeding,
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
I'll plaster your home with a furniture loan,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

If you show me you need it, I'll let you have credit,
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
Just bring me back two for the one I lend you,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

When your car you're losin', and sadly your cruisin',
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
I'll come and forclose, get your car and your clothes,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

When the bugs get your cotton, the times they are rotten,
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
I'll come down and help you, I'll rake you and scalp you,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

When the landlords abuse you, or sadly misuse you,
I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.
I'll send down the police chief to keep you from mischief,
Singin' I'm a jolly banker, jolly banker am I.

Message boards might change but it is time for this thread to come back around on the guitar again. Worthy of noting that Gamgee Wench created this initially in the spring and not Thanksgiving.
Anyway lets see if some of us from the Group W bench will come visit this week

You know, I didn't get to listen to this last year. I'm going to have to hunt down my CD at home and put it in the car's CD player on constant loop for the next two days.

That along with "I don't want a pickle . . ." just screams Thanksgiving to me.

Group W Father stabber reporting for groovy things duty. (I figured it was the one that carried the least chance of TOS violation.)

This is going back to the magical music box (ipod) so it may be listened to as myself and my clan may listen to it as we travel to my sister's place. So just remember...

Happy Turkey Day, y'all!
Just stopping by...

Now for my annual update.

Preggers. Due end of April. Got a kid in high school, one in junior high, and now we're starting over.
Surprise!

[happy ferret dance]

Just asked Mr. FFerret and Bex what they think of "Alice" if it's a girl. Resounding, "NO."
