The "Farewell to Torc" form letter.....

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Ya got that right, Oreo!

And I'm glad you're not planning to leave anytime soon!

I know we've had our differences from time to time, but you help to make this place what it is.

Um....whatever THAT is... :P

All my e-mails to John concerning my suggestion for a P... FORUM have gone unanswered, and my sketch for a JEDI banner was rejected.

John? Who is this John fellow and does Jon know you've been writing him? :P:D

I laughed my head off when I read this again, man, Luthy is right, this is a classic and a half. (Aside from the spelling and grammar errors  ).

Oreo, did you ever get it printed on a placard so you could wear it on the front of your kilt? =:)

For sure a great thread. Was a bit worried Oreo, thought for a moment you necromanced ( i know that is not a word ) a thread because you got commented on for doing acts of necromancy.

Dude, be happy about that. Otherwise, you'd fall into such a deep well of soft, satisfied complacency that you'd hardly deserve your Curmudgeonly Crown . . . ;)

Who dared call our cookie names?

How could they? You have such an even, charitable nature, with never a sharp word for anybody =:)

I just tore myself away from a Firefly marathon to peek in here and make sure Oreo wasn't changing on any of us :D

You tore yourself away from a Firefly Marathon!!! Oh, the inhumanity!! ;) :P:D

No worries though, Oreo isn't about to change for anyone or anything. He's still the Original Crusty Curmudgeon and always will be. ;)

Oreo, I won't even ask how you do think of me, since I'm pretty sure the answer is "hardly ever at all." ;)

I used to think you were a drooling sycophant to the old guard Mods ala Mighty Squid but you have only gone up in my estimation since then. :)

err...that is a compliment.

A drooling sycophant?

BWAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA . . . !!!!!!!

Good thing you're so old and crusty, or I might have to challenge you to single combat . . . fountain pens at 10 paces, no make that 5. I wouldn't want you to strain yourself. In honour of the Mighty Squid, of course, we'd "ink it out" in fine style . . .

Silly old bear.

Wow, since this was such a monumentally good form letter, and Oreo hasn't been seen for a while, I decided to bump this thread to the top again. It is hilarious!

Of course, what should be added to it is the person resigning telling of his adventures on Manwë, telling of how he/she was persecuted for speaking out on (add your personal tack) Bush, Obama, global warming, or other threads. We don't want to leave any stone, or thread, unturned in this letter.

CR, isn't that the best? Around six years ago I copied that and posted it under a new thread title and I got SO much heat for people who thought I was serious. I LOVE this form letter. :D
