You are, you are spamolicious! :D Big hug to you Min.

OK, this is one of the best threads ever, and I'm not saying it just because it's mine (ok, I might be).

But seriously....my favorite humans that I haven't heard much from lately are here. Tis a good thread.

But the chicken thread is better.

(Look at me spamming the board! 8) )

What's this Chicken Thread, and how fabulous can it possibly be if it outshines THIS gem???

I enjoyed the chicken thread. I was especially intrigued by that chicken coop that could be moved around on the grass, to give the chickens new bugs to eat and spread out their waste products.

I hear the Iowa state fair has fried butter this year. Be still my heart! No really. If I ate one my heart would be still.

When Life Slows Down

The Ferris wheel, those carny rides,
now boarded up, with well-locked sides,
the bottles, cups, and corn-dog sticks,
swept up that join that intermix
of old brochures and billers tossed
with batteries or one glove lost.
The fairgrounds take contented sighs,
remembering blue-ribboned pies,
the best-in-show, the sweetest lamb,
the finest turnip, quilt, or jam.
I feel the asphalt slightly heave
as both of us now take our leave
and say goodbye to one more year
where life was magical in here.
The bills will come; all swiftly paid,
new plans are engineered and laid,
we take a trip, or find that nook,
to travel through a well-loved book.
This is the time when life slows down,
when crops are brought into the town,
when football morphs to hockey rinks,
and warmth replaces cooling drinks.
Come join me here and rest a spell,
and savor days when life went well.

Blessings,
Parm :)
The autumn I know and love in Calgary.

So Minardil wants the band back together? :) I was yacking with a friend who's son lives in Williamsport, PA.....and I asked him if his son ever floated his fanny down the Susquehanny......and fond memories popped back in my head. Of llamas in kilts, of deep fried oreo's, and of those darned lines.

I've found as I get older that I truly don't care if I cross the lines anymore.....it's kinda nice. :)

Yea. The Wench is a notorious line-crosser.

Okay, my motives for getting the band back together might be somewhat mercenary. I heard that bagpipe music is HUGE in South Korea right now, especially llama bagpipe music.

I'm not sure it's safe taking the llamas to South Korea.....
