Class of 2000?

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Hmm, I seem to have hit 15 as well. Historically, I have not drawn much attention to myself as a general rule, but at this point, it is possible that any activity now qualifies.

...I too missed my 15 year anniversary. I'm not here as often as I used to be, but it seems that none of us are lol! Regardless, this was my first experience with an ol-line community and it is still the best one i have ever had. TORC is still my cyber home and i love it here. Here's to 15 more years. Thanks Jon!!!

I am almost a part of this class. Almost. Only 12 days separate me from you, the legendary 00'ers. Ah well. :) Happy 15th or 16th Anniversary to all!

Not that I think we're worthy of a double-post, but... I'll take it! ;) Glad to have made your day, Hue! Great to be back. So many nostalgic memories. This place was the first message-board I frequented back in the "early days of the Internet". It feels like coming home, you know?

Hola class of 2000! I'm coming to my 16th anniversary this August, Wow!
I'm not sure I recognize that dude who started out looking for info on the (at that time) forthcoming LOTR movies.
This too was my first forum. Does anyone remember dial up?

Ohhh, yeah, dialup!! Fortunately, we had 2 phone lines, because I often needed to send and receive faxes for my nursing job, and my husband had a business that involved a LOT of rather lengthy phone calls (he LOVED to talk)!

When the first trailer came out, l left my computer on all night downloading the large version of it! Remember, it showed a horse jumping over a log, and Elrond's army lined up in a row? Then P.J. came on and talked about how special effects had improved dramatically, allowing for the movie to do the book justice. I think they used an animation of the cave troll as an example.

Hey you! I was wondering who you were. :-) I might be able to recover your password if you know what email address you registered with.

Since Gotrek registered in 2000, you probably also registered in that year. :-) Yep, I've just found Freedom and you registered in early 2000. :-)

Hey, we're not going to return TORC to its former glory (or at least some semblance of life) without posting. It's a matter of critical mass.

Post post post! Spam spam spam! Ok now I sound like I fell out of a Monty Python episode! Been lurking about the books as rpg seems largely dead *sniff* but need to actually go read the books again. I shamefully worked out its been about ten years since I read them! Of course, back then I spent my free periods on torc rpg-ing instead of doing homework and my evenings reading. Maybe somewhat obsessed...

welcome home again darlin' Yep the board has changed some from the old days. We are all slowing down I guess, I know I am. Yeah RP is all but dead here and that is a shame. On the bright side the Mithril Knights are still going if not strong at least hanging in there. We are on a slow down caused by RL but you know us always did take a few years to wrap up a story. Since we are virtually the only game in town I invite ya to drop in and take a look at what we got cooking albeit on a slow low heat. Us RPGers gotta stick together.

Got a few Non Player characters mainly the nameless trainees and squires that would be a part of the company. Leaves room for occasions just like this. So there's your way in if you care to join us. Why don't ya come on up to the OOC and see us some time 8)
