Class of 2000?

Just as Tolkien and the Inklings used to meet at The Bird and the Baby, come in here to converse about whatever might be on your mind. This is the place for all off-topic conversation.

Bumpity bump as it was my TORCiversary a few days ago. The Class of 2000 is turning fourteen this year! :yippie:

Where have you been? How have you been?

Yes, Leggy is (or was) in Finland.

Dunthy, good to see you. :) And in answer to your question, I'm fine. I'm currently working in a university library (the oldest library at the university - it looks like this inside) and is very stress-free and lovely. :)

:o TerryD! ((((HUGS)))
I happen by on a whim and there you are! Hoping all is well!

I was surprised to see this thread still active after all these years. Class of 2000... fourteen years gone! I read with mostly fond memories this thread, and think with some sadness all that I had thought in the years passed that I would, or wanted to do. Alas, life happens and the best laid plans come to naught. Alas... have yet to take my often aborted trek to Europe. Too much life has happened that has kept me from doing much of anything. But I really need to do so before these bones give out on me. If only my brain can keep it together.

Heliona! Good to see you! You ever hear from Mandos?
Erinhue, how are you? Your son must be getting close to being a teen? Or is a teen?
Legolas is in Finland???
Where is old oredreth? Sandra?

No, I don't. :cry2: Of course, he doesn't post here any more. I suppose he might post on some other Tolkien sites, but I don't visit any of them. And I don't know what his real name is, so I've no idea if he's on Facebook. I'm still in touch with Thorondor and Master Samwise, though. :) I very occasionally hear from Radagast, too.

Ah yes The Danimal has long since grown up. No baby no more, he is now 14 and getting ready for High School next year. He is pert near as tall as me and dare I say it, growing in to a handsome young man. Can you believe he has a pretty fair starter moustache? I can't. :Q

Well said Drogo!
14 years, where does the time go? :Q
Little Dunthy will be 7 soon.
Heck, I was single back in 2000, lol. :)
Many seasons of life have come and gone in 14 years.
I'll leave TerryD, PARM or TORCs other bards to put thoughts to poetry. :)

In a nutshell, it's always good to see old and new friends on TORC. 8)

(And Gilaglar - how come even though we lived in the same country for years (and in fact, the same city, I believe) we've never met? :P )

This is a tasty recipie, that I picked up recently. I have found it to be a wonderful addition to any buffet. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit.

Drink some beer. Make your coffee rich and strong, use milk and honey. Believe in love at first sight. Give people more than they expect and do this willfully.

Learn your favorite song by heart. Don't believe much that you hear and don't sleep as much as you think you want to.

When you say "I love You", say it truthfully. When you say I'm sorry, say it with eye contact.

Do not mock another person's dreams. Bless a person who has just sneezed. Call your Mom and tell her you are thinking about her.

Believe and trust in the Divine, whomever/whatever you conceive the One to be, but don't forget to lock your car.

Eat well! Share a meal with a friend.

Say hey, everyone, the news on me is I retired yesterday, from the university. So, I may be here a little more often, Let's keep the boo's to a minimum, please. :nono:

My immediate plans: substitute teaching, at the local schools and I wrote a child's story, the past two weeks. My main focus is to get it published, so I may be a bit hard to find, now and then. Bur, I plan to spend some time relishing the fabuloso company of these here parts.
