Walk to Rivendell And Beyond Continues!

:hihi: Anorial!

Frelga's been moved forward as well - I noticed that you've actually passed the Stone Trolls long ago. Next stop Rivendell! :)

I also did a little walk on the holidays which got me to OT+618.9. Still about 15 miles to kick some pirate butt at Pelargir.

Thanks, Rowan. Yep, almost there! Did another 3 miles today on Lufu's and mine traditional library walk. I do love walking with him. He is already one day out of Hobbiton.

Hi Rberry....good to see you holding down the fort as always .

Hi everyone!
I've really let exercise slip out of my life of late. But the good news is I've been reassessing and refocussing. I'm feeling healthier and getting ahold of my lack of sleep (which always has a huge effect on everything else) and I've made some headway on getting my home a little further away from its "garage" state. After my first week back at work, I'm also trying to settle that down lol. It just kicked my butt last week!

I'm getting set to put my daily exercise where almost nothing can touch it. If I put it anywhere after work, it so often becomes negotiable. So I have a couple of options and I'll let you know when I get it settled.

We've had sooooo much snow and rain. Now I love the rain because it makes the snow go away. I'm very much looking forward to the time when the snow is gone!

I have gotten one walk in since my last post. Well, plus I've been arriving so late at work, I have a considerable walk then as well. I will tote up my miles. brb

Hmm, still not at the Havens....it's almost as if I'm dragging the walk out because I don't want to get there!

Happy trails to everyone!

Anorial, best luck with getting on track! I know how it is when any time spent on myself becomes almost an indulgence. Which is not only unfair (ha!) but also unproductive - who can run on an empty tank all the time? And wow, impressive mileage!

I got some miles on this week - getting back to walk at lunch, and also with the outings to the snow where I did two snowshoe outings. I am now at 437 miles. Only 21 to Rivendell!

Gods, will it ever stop snowing? And it's been bitter cold, you can only stay out there so long.

Anyway, only up to 125 miles now. How sad.

My lunchtime walks got a bit disrupted by rain and workload, but with some hiking and snowshoeing, I can see Rivendell! Only 5.5 miles to go. If I make an effort, I can reach the Last Homely House in a week.

OK, your locations have been updated. :)

And I better update my mileage to the OT+628.2 where I am at the moment, before I forget. Just five miles to Pelargir!

Hey everybody! It's really spring here, sunny and blustery out!
I've been having a terrible time getting miles in, my progress over the winter has been absolutely incremental!
But I am doing better now... along with the warmer weather comes that thought that it will soon be summer, with the heat turning on up... so to speak.
But I have made it to where I only have 47 miles left before the Misty Mountains Foothills. Ah-ha! It's almost managable!
The gaps are so long now, after hitting Rivendell. It's harder to get excited about them. Oh, well, keep chugging...
Happy trails everybody! :horse:
Cheers,
Yona

I've seen this ages ago. And am totally fascinated, though I'm not a great walker. I'm interested to see how much I walk "in everyday life" to/from/at work. So I have decided to buy myself a pedometre (should arrive next week sometime) and start with the challenge. And maybe I even get so excited that I start hiking a little more. I'm preparing for a loooooong journey, though. :)

So, put me into Bag End where I'll relax over the weekend and prepare for the start of my journey next week.

I sure will. If all goes well the pedometre will arrive today or tomorrow. :)

Canamarth, Mistress Archer of Dale, stretched her limbs after a lazy weekend at Bag End. She had been invited to a Hobbit feast and after two days of indulging in the richest food that was to be had in all of Middle-earth, Canamarth decided she needed to walk off some of the pounds she had gained. "Time to start packing."

Pedometre hasn't arrived yet but I decided to use Google Maps to show me the distance I walked this morning. And due to some defect on the tube I had to walk one mile this morning. :) On any other day I wouldn't have been too pleased about that but today I could use it as a starting point for the walk. So, you can put me "on the road".

Canamarth said her goodbyes to Lady Lalaith, A Simple Poet and Blackcrayon (who had for some reason or other decided that the Hobbit hole's comfort was too nice to leave for the time being) before setting out early in the morning, heading west from Bag End's gate. The sun was shining, though it was still a bit chilly. Still, it was going to be a wonderful day.

I need to tally up my miles from vacation. I am at least a day out of Rivendell, ought to be two by now. Unfortunately, I came home to a heat wave, crazy work, and as those things cleared up I went and twisted my ankle. Where's Bill the Pony when I need him?

Would you believe that I actually walked a lot over the weekend while I was attending a Tolkien seminar in a lecture hall in Hannover? Clocked up some miles while going on strolls to the city and finding a pub for the evenings. :) And I did a bit of swimming so that I am now at a little over 12 miles.

Hope your ankle will be better soon, Frelga!

Canamarth soon reached The Water and decided to ignore the plank bridge to see if she should venture a swim. She took off her boots and tested the temperature, just to recoil from the cold. "Oh, no, no way..." She then saw a few sturdy Hobbit children bathing in the stream a little way up. They were looking at her challengingly. "Arien save me," she muttered and dived into the cold water.

It took almost all afternoon to walk herself dry and the sun had already set when she sat down for a small supper in a birch grove.

Time to bump this one a bit...

During the last few days, I've advanced quite well by walking, exercise bike, and crosstrainer; now, I'm at OT+678.1. Still quite a way to Minas Tirith, but I'll see if I can make it there this year. :)

How's everybody else doing?

Hey there! It's me again... been so terrifically busy with all this absolutely gorgeous spring weather we've been having here, grass so green, sky so blue, (except when it's raining, and then the air smells so wonderfully of that soft misty smell of rain... love it!)
And most of it's been coming up roses for us here, which is such a beautiful and wonderful relief after the past two springs where joy and heartache have been intermixed rather heavily... so I am having a great time enjoying the 'good times'. Who cares what goes on in the wide world economy, if my own slice of world is on track? Not I!
As for how I am doing on milage... not so good. (Busy!) But I have whittled away at it some, and am now down to 29 miles from the Misty Mountain Foothills milepost. I am going to be glad to see that pass my poor tired feet by one of these days!
So, hope everybody is having as happy a spring as I am, and happy walking!

Gosh I have been gone again for almost a year. It just amazes me that I seem to feel like I visit here more often and then I am suddenly finding that I haven't posted here in almost a year.

Sorry for falling off the wagon so to speak. I have been walking for the majority of this time. I am now walking an hour at a time. I have clocked myself at walking just over 2 miles a day when I set out for a walk. I walk all day at work but don't count that since I am not always getting my heart rate up and keeping it up.

I started a new job in January for Petco so I do not get to rest while I am at work and we only get a half hour lunch.

But Ryan and I have been finding some great places to walk around here. Walking paths that are marked for distance and others we must drive to see how far they are.

Has anyone got the link to the milestones so that I can update my information???

Vana, from here, you can check where you are at the moment, and get to the shields page to record your current mileage. :)

This past week, using the exercise bike at the gym has brought me to OT+692.7. Now, my two weeks at the gym for free are over, so I'll return to walking in the first place.
