A is for apple, which Sam flicked at Ferny;
B is for Bill, a long-suffering pony.
Caradhras sits back and smiles in the sun;
D is for Durin, the dwarves’ deathless one.
Eowyn fights fiercely, her brave heart undaunted;
F is for Fangorn, whose forest ain’t haunted.
Galadriel overcame pride and her failings.
H is for Harlond, to which ships came sailing.
Isildur’s choice changed the fate of the Ring:
Jools might be cool, but they ain’t everything.
Kheled-zaram in the starlight was pretty,
Legolas came from the wood, not the city.
Meduseld is the high house of Theoden
Nine were the walkers and riders in Tolkien
O is for Oldbuck and Ori and Oin, while a
Palantir showed Strider where Corsairs were goin’.
Q is for Queen Beruthiel’s kitties;
Rammas is what encircled a city.
Sam was a gardener, warrior and poet;
Tom was a Maiar, but only I know it.
Underhill didn’t work well as a name.
V is for Varda, star-queen of acclaim.
Women gave WiKi a run for his money,
X is so hard that it just isn’t funny.
Yrch always sounds like a whacking great spit,
Zirak-zigil… and I reckon that’s it.
