OOC Shrouds of Varda Inn ( Interim Title

Pull out your pack and head on down to the Prancing Pony for some great Role Playing (try to stay in character)!

Postby PatriotBlade » Thu Feb 04, 2010 11:59 am

Here follows what the letter will say, for whomever reads it next;

Thank you, Sir Fevrre, for the help in dealing with the delima I was facing.

My poor grandaughter missed her wild kindred so. She grew up there after all. Being here in the city, she just was not happy.

Without her to hide behind now, my youngest son will be forced to bear the title and find a woman to bear me Gondorian grandchildren.

His poor, weak, ill wife would not be a fit mother, even should one of her prodgeny survive birth, so I must now find a way to force her out of my son's life for his own good.

Since my eldest son would not listen to me, then went and got himself slaughtered by foul creatures, you see that I am reduced to games of chess with what pieces remain to me.

You of all people understand the position I find myself in, coming up from where you began.

I am sure that further favors could be aranged, in exchange for one additional request.

You surely realise the implications if my darling grandaughter were to change her mind before her sixteenth birthday.

I would be most appriciative if your man could arrange for her to come to an accedent on the road to Rohan in the months before that date.

Yours in Business,
Madame Torros

I got an idea to get us on the road and moving onward. I left openings for everyone and anyone to get in on what comes next. I tried to acknowledge out new poster Claymore and now to pull Shaggy's character into the main line.

My aim is to try and get everyone together so I can tell ya how I think we can get Ondine back with out too much trouble. We already got two bards so the disguise shouldn't be too hard to pull off. Like we do in the MK's I will spell this out real time in the thread. Now Im just waiting for everyone to put themselves on the scene or to react. I really have been waiting for Shaggy's character to get around to talking to me. I got just the thing to reassure him and then something to shake him and the dwarf up a bit... just a bit.

And here, as promised, is Estelmere's chance to prove himself.

And you may want to try to take Kierul alive to find out from him the rest of the plan, for Granny Dearest has been double crossed.

Sir Fevrre figured out that he could move up in the world, if he could marry an heiress in one of the higher families.

None would have him.

Instead of telling Kierul to kill Ondine, he was to keep her and try to make her crazy, or at least passably, so that she could not inheirit, unless someone was willing to marry her and attempt to have children to carry on the title.

Kierul was to keep the letter to set up Granny. When he brought Ondine back, he was to say that, Sir Fevrre didn't know what she'd been up to at first, but when he finally figured it out, he hired Kierul to try to rescue the poor child, only to find her in this terrible state. He would then produce the letter that had been sent to his emplyer as evidence of the woman's evil plot.

Sir Fevrre then would feign guilt at his unwitting asistance in the plot and play the gracious benifactor, marrying the poor, insane child so that her title would not be lost to the family. He wouldn't be able to carry the title himself, but his ofspring would, and he thinks that Ondine's uncle will be so happy not to be saddled with either burden (insane niece in need of constant care, or the title), that he would allow this to happen.

Also, Granny's the one that's been suppressing most of the news about her disapearance, but ondine's uncle and aunt didn't believe that she wrote the runaway note that was found and have testified before the court their belief. They say that because she grew up in Rohan and learned to write with runes before learning Gondorian script, her hand writing tends to be blocky, not smooth and flowy like script should be, and that as anyone who cared to look would notice, the letter had been written with a Gondorian hand. They have offered a reward for her safe return, or information leading to such, but Madame Torros has been quite succesful at stopping the word from spreading much beyond the city of Minas Tirith, and certainly not to be heard of outside of Gondor.

I've had an idea for a title for the quest. Throwing it out for criticizms.

"Avenging Ghosts."

Since Madame Torros thinks Ondine's dead, when she returns whole an health it could be quite a shock to the old girl.

Good post. Now normally the Bard would be up those stairs like ugly on an ape but I'm not gonna post that just yet. I think I saw something about someone thinking this was a chance to prove oneself. I'm gonna wait and let that happen. Illuvatar help Kierul when Erinhue (and Agarak) get their hands ( and strings) on him. Sneaking back like that is enough to make the bard angry....very angry... and that is never a good idea.

:P Eeeps! Looks like I better post pronto! Thanks for waiting on me Hue, and thanks for the lead in PB. I will try to get something up by tonight.

Edit: OK I hope that works for everyone. It seemed to make sense that he would go for Brenae as she was unarmed and also he might still have some thought of getting out of this alive and still wanting Ondine to be alive as well (not killing the goose that laid the golden egg so to speak). I'll let the warriors take if from here. Estelmere probably would have done more if he had been the first to get there :P :D

Great story and posts everyone! And I like the name you suggested for the thread PB :)

Here we go, more fuel for this blazing infurno.

Ondine is not pleased to learn she was to die. Kinda put a damper on her day. So this was just the icing on her birthday cake.

I've got more I want to get to, but I've been holing off to give Tempest a chance to get in on the action.

I'll try to post by this weekend either way.

Hue, you may do to Keirul whatever you wish. He's a hired hitman with no real loyalty, only a little fear of his employer. But the surety of imenant bodily harm should overshadow even that. I've given you all the information he should be able to spew, so have fun. :D

I was kinda waiting on Tempest too. I can almost hear the space where her reactions should be in here.

OK PB darlin/ when I figure out what to do with him I'll post something. First thought was to kill him that makes sense but #1 that ain't the Bard's way and #2 we might need him later, I dunno, he's your guy not mine so I'll let him live whatever else gets done.

Unless, of course, Tempest wants him for herself

LOL! I was kinda torn on that myself. I don't want to lug him about on the quest, but at the same time, his testimony would be quite damning to Madame Torros.

OK that's another one we can decide in story. Even if we do not officially lug him along I would opt not to kill him. Like Gollum, our bully boy might prove useful somewhere along the way.

I see Robin's hobbit senses have shown him that the Bard needs calming down even though he does not know the results of Erinhue unreigned anger. That's real good and I'm gonna let that happen.

The main problem with the Berserker is that I never really thoght much about how to stop it once it is unleashed. When I started up with the Berserker way way back, I also posted as 'Hue's brother Beliran, who does have the power to stop the Berserker cold. ( That gives me an idea for later on, we might could use the Captain of the Swan Knights and I haven't written Beliran for a long time now.)

All that to say this, I think that Robin will wind up serving that purpose here if ya don't mind C-R. I love writing the Berserker so I know the situation is gonna call for it somewhere along the line and I already mentioned and hinted at it enough that I gotta produce sooner or later, Later I think but ya never know.

Ya know I been writing the Bard here for so long that I get to thinking everyone knows about him. Should I put up a bio? I had one for Erinhue once upon a time. If I can't find it I'll do a do over and post it.

EDIT ( see,I do know how to do it  ) Maybe I'll put one up for the old worm as well.
