OOC: The Mithril Knights v2.0

Pull out your pack and head on down to the Prancing Pony for some great Role Playing (try to stay in character)!

heh figured that Mauglar´s demise would have generated quite a lot of heat and smoke.
I tried to realistically write the consequences of that.

I also figured that the Bard would be exhausted after his stunt so I ran with that.
Hue If I made the wrong assumptions just say so and I will try to change it.

hope it is okay for everyone.

Well, Meneldor has now turned his attention to finding Dirk's body as well, as well as something else, which only he would be strong enough to bear, since the dragon is dead, LOL. I hope this is okay.

Meneldor needs to NOT find us, CR, because of what Tempest has planned.

But having him find the Stone of Amon Sul is a great idea!!!

Masterful post, Tempest. I really appreciate how you wrote Anorast, you did him much honor. I can only hope to do as well writing Tempest when I write my next post which will be coming later today.

Oh wOw, are we sure we want to end this thing? Tempest, Guru, you put me to shame. Wish I had not rushed that slaying, woulda, coulda, shoulda done better with it to do the tale justice.

One question in light of that last posting, Are we done yet? I mean are we headed home now or must we do something about the gang of Orc still remaining? Or do we leave this chapter at its natural conclusion and save the remnant of evil for another adventure? My vote would be for the second, although I am not opposed to this chapter being longer.

Just looking for a consenses to decide what I'm gonna do next. The Bard is going to react differently from the cool, stoic containment shown by Tempest and Anorast. M'plan is to have the end of this, The Bard's part of it, dovetail with what I have already written for his entrance into the Memorial thread. I also need to keep the integrity of the character, he would never desert his fellow Knights or be derilict of duty so I kinda want to know where we plan to go in terms of wrap up and wind down. What I ultimately have in mind will work whenever, I just need a sense of the timing. What say ye?

I'm not yet an official Mithril Knight, but I'd opt for the second option and leave the remainder of the evil for a new adventure. Guru, Tempest, you outdid yourselve in excellence.I'll be proud to be numbered among you.

Official or not, you are an author in this thread/story so you get the same vote as anyone else. And that official is just a technicallity I already think of you and Claymore as Mithril Knights. You both sure got the chops to go stompin' with the big dogs :D

To be honest, I realized I may have jumped one step ahead of Tempest. She may still have stuff to be done in Angmar...and if that's the case, Tempest, I'll happily edit my last post.

That said, I was contemplating doing something spectacular to seal up the fortress, but I think I've used up my super awesome wildly improbable overpowering event allowance for this thread already. I'd say leave the rangers to surround the place, have the king send in a sanitation squad, and have some dwarves seal it. They may even find some more stuff that could be brought to the attention of the MK's. Doesn't need to be written, except maybe in a wrap-up post, but that's my vote.

'Have the King send a sanitation squad...'

Well, my friends, as you know there is a group of loyal readers who are actively creating backstories for their characters for the Memorial thread - and it just so happens a sanitation squad was exactly what one of us had in mind. (me) The intent was an 'alternate universe' sort of thing, not to be held to by anyone but Leoba and I... well, the Battle Rages post speaks for itself. Great minds think alike, as they say!

Great stuff, everyone.

Thank you all for your kind words----I am glad to have had the honor to be part of this grand story, and to contribute to the ending of such a life as Dirk the Daring. Anorast, you didn't step on my plans at all---great post and I'm happy to be out of Carn Dum breathing the free air again. :)

As for every one else's comments, I'm all for the Rangers taking on the minions we've left behind while we all go limping home to the Guild House for some well-deserved rest. Now that the Eagle has informed our allies (nice job CR), I say everyone do a final post, if they wish to, and then we'll end it. Who wants to be the official closer?

It's remarkable to think that this journey, this adventure, is finally coming to a close. The story will continue on, first in the Memorial, then in the Initiations, and then on in another round of Knights in Training, and perhaps another adventure after that. But it does feel strange, coming to a close here.

Before we finish up, does anyone have anything that needs to be done? Nin, I know you've got something planned. Do you need to do it before we turn to Dirk's memorial?

I so second that emotion there Guru. this story has been part of my life for how many years now? the only way I can stand to see it end is becasue I know we gots more story in the works with the Memorial and Initiations and all... but I will miss this one. It was one helluva ride and I want to thank you each and everyone for making it the bang-a-rang blast it was every step of the way. You are all so very talented and sharp and quick and funny, I LOVE writing with you guys. I loved this tale, one of the boards very best I do believe. so thanks for a grand old time and see ya in the next adventure.

So, le'ts bring Dirk's body back to camp and bring this puppy home

I'll do a post in a little while. I vote that SB be given the honor of doing the final, wrap-up post of this story. He's worked hard on it, and with his ending of the story of Dirk the Daring, he deserves it. How about it, Boss?
