Don't be sorry, It could just as easily be me that does not get it. I admit confusion... but that is a familiar state of being for me. Not ta worry, I'll figure it out.

:bang: I am also confused...

It's close to midnight here, so I'll be going to bed shortly - but insted of corrections, I wrote that little bit - I don't know what you think about it, rwhen, i wanted to tie things together in some way.

I'll check in tomorrow morning and after brushing my teeth.

My students will hate me.

Don't be confused......as you wrote your post, now mine can fit in after yours, just an adjustment to the ending of the post.

Thanks Nin.

Only thing I will have to find a way to use your three words, I used Wanderings, but I can do yours and add three more.

Not to worry this is going to work out just fine. :D

You did perfect and I am almost done adding to my post to now blend with yours. :D

Thank you, that was brilliant to add Lark at the end of your posts. Though I didn't know I was going to be a mortician. :D:D:D This is actually more fun that I had originally thought to do.

Give me a few moments and I will have the new ending up.

Edited: Okay, all fixed now...I have left it open for someone to join, or ride on by I guess or Nin/Wandering to pick back up again.

I'm pretty sure that Wandering meant that we can all use any of the characters in the story no matter who created them. I didn't see any restrictions on introducing new characters or many restrictions at all for that matter.
It just seems to me that he wants us to feel free to use our imaginations however we want. That's how I'm approaching it for now anyway.
I had an idea but I was confused about exactly when this story is set. Is it before, during or after the WotR? That would make a (small) difference for what I was thinking about but I'm guessing that Wandering deliberately left even things like that up to us. (a trusting soul)

But until I'm 100% sure, I think I'm going to try to just write around stuff like that for now.

There birds are singing outside, I'm up until dawn again. I love working nights. I'll try to get to work on something tomorrow

So that is two questions for Wandering when he checks back in again.

1. Do we have to include or pick the storyline from where the last poster left off or can we do intro posts...or go our own way as long as it fits in the storyline?

2. When is the RP set as Middle Earth time goes?

I'd like to know the answers to these questions too, but in the interim, I've added another character to the mix to help tie us to Bree or Rohan or both. :)

I'm gonna be away at a confernece Friday to Monday. Too much to do to get into this at the moment but I in for the ride soon as I get back. Should I get an idea before time to go, I'll post it. Sometimes work really gets in the way, ya know?

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean. I've often thought of retiring to the life a a simple country gentleman but for some reason, my wife doesn't approve of the idea.

Anyway, I've done....something. I wrote a way to long post that somehow manged to not use any of the established characters at all. Sorry. I should have cut it off about mid way but I felt I at least had to at least tie it in to the rest of the story.

I'll try harder next time. It was a start though. Just getting my feet wet again was a positive step.

Question for rwhen

Am I correct in my reading that Davin and Tamerlain did NOT take the body in the cart with them, and that it's still where Davin found it?

GH, I thought your post was great. :D

I am making that assumption based on Nin's post, that the two of them came to get Lark, rather than bringing the body to her.

Nin, if I got that wrong, please correct me.

Where is Wandering? :P

Hue good luck at your conference.

I've killed it!oh my, I've killed the thread!

Um, hello?

Anyway, I hope I haven't put anyone off. I know I kind of went in a different direction but I wanted to bring Hobbits and Breelanders into the story. (or at least my conception of Hobbits and Breelanders). A little more rustic, a little less serious. Of course in this kind of a story we are free to ignore them. I also wondered who would deal with a murder in Bree society. We know they had very little government but we don't know if they had a police force or even "sheriffs' like the Shire. They must have had some kind of officials. I also wanted to show that even if they did have a police force, that they would not normally deal with any serious crime and that if they ever did, it most likely came from outsiders...just my 2 cents.

Don't worry, you didn't kill it GH. I think most people are waiting for Wandering to answer the two questions before going forward and doing something that was not of his original intent on the RP.

As far as canon and doing RP's here, I don't think it is a problem to write a "law person" where there might not have been one in the Professor's writings. There were folks in many place in ME who did take care of these sorts of issues I should think.

I can't imagine murder going over as okay in any part of Tolkien's writings. But that said, keeping the RP in a Tolkien theme and sticking as much to canon as we can is a good thing.

I don't recall there being a healer/herbalist in Bree either, but there is going to be one now. :P :D In my own imagination I see these sorts of people as being in any sort of village setting. But that is just my own musings, all of you folk may see it differently.

Postby Wandering but not lost » Wed Jun 22, 2011 9:53 pm

Hey, sorry it took so long to reply. I only get to check maybe every other week or so. I'll put another post up sometime soon though-- maybe mid next week I hope.

As for time period, I was thinking shortly before the events in the trilogy, but I am flexible.

In general, I am trying to take a minor role in setting the rules etc., since I want this thread to me everyone's :) What is posted so far looks great :)

Ooh, this sounds so interesting. I'm on holiday at the moment, but I will take a proper look at the thread and maybe jump in if no-one minds. :)

I'd feel honoured to RP with all of you. I've only really RP'ed with Wandering before properly and that was a very, very, very long time ago. :D

Wandering, thanks for the reply. So I read you to say, go forward as we have and it is all good.

heliona, look forward to seeing you jump in as well. :D

Hue? Are you back safe and sound now? Food on the table and all?

Nin, if you have no qualms, I can move us forward.
