Oooooooo, this could be fun! Paul's first brawl. I say, the sky is the limits. It's going to be interesting to see what his reaction is to the fight. Akara's comments might come back to pester him (if we are lucky!) =:)

Go for it Hue. Telta is standing by...as it were. Saw the berserker once before it'll be interesting to see her reaction this time.

Funny how one talks about a their own character as if they were someone else.

I'm ready. Go for it! And Quill, I edited my post, adding a warning Brondgast gave to Paul.

Thanks for the heads up, CR. I'm sure Paul will take the warning to heart. Though I wonder if he will obey if cricumstances turn interesting *insert Erihue's scratching bearded chin emote here*

Hue, quick question before it all hits the fan. How invincible is Erinhue when he's all berserk? Is it more just a stay out his way kinda thing or does he actually need back up? Trying to determine if there are any ways he might be threatened that Paul might need to disobey Brondgast to thwart.

Tela, isn't that really fassinating? I've had so many characters over the years, though. So for me I haven't really grown really really attached to any one of them. Except Luke, but I don't know if anybody here has ever encountered him. Guy from Rohan, has anger issues, can summon firey sentinals with his rage (kinda goes berserk), going lightly insane. *sigh* good times! =:)

Good questions, Quill. OK Erinhue is The Hulk. The Berserker is pretty much a killing machine and invincible for all intent and purpose Havent read the thread yet but it would do Paul real good to stay out of his way. The problem with The Berserker is that he is just as likely to kill a friend as he is the enemy. Now what I am working with at this point is in the last tale The Bard is beginning to get some control over The Berserker which he had absolutely none to this point. That control thing is iffy at best but it beats a blank. There is a charm that if Hue holds his sword so that a persons reflection shows up on the blade and then the person touches the sword then supposedly Clarion will recognize the person as friend and not kill them. This had only had limited testing and in any event the way I see this happening there will be no time for 'Hue to do that with Paul. Clarion is currently back in the armory in Dol Amroth, but Clarion is a very obedient bade. =:)

Oh Hue it's been soooooooooo long since the last time...I'm afraid I only remember what happened during the Red Dawn of Esgaroth between Raghnildur and the berserker. I think I need a little refresher cause I so want to get into this fight. :? My memory isn't what it used to be. :Q

You got time to get in on the fight Like I said we can have as many adversaries as needed to make it a party and the fat lady hasn't even got out of her chair yet. Beliran would be the ideal one to do it but he is back in Dol Amroth. So since you have known The Bard the longest here I will leave the honor up to you. I'll try and give you that window when we're done here. Not much to remember, just sneak up on him and bash him in the head

Ok, so I've had this kind of plan thing for Paul that may result in some interpersonal conflict between himself and the rest of the knights. I just want to give everyone a heads up so its absolutely clear that some of the views that might be expressed by Paul do not, in any way, reflect the opinions of this writer. This is fiction and a little angst and conflict helps spice things up! The reason I mention this is because, based on how the fight progresses, some of this might come out.

I don't want to say too much or give too many details, because I know the desire of the group to just role with it and be surprised by the twists and turns, but if I'm sounding too ominious I can share more of what I have in mind.

Can't wait to start writing the fight scene! I LOVE a good fight scene. Paul himself wont strike the first blow. Any volunteers? I can start writing stuff, I just don't want to comport anyone in a fight other than how they would wish to be played.

For right now you can write The Bard as howling mad, fast as light, powerful as a quake and killing everything in sight and that will just about do it. =:)

Ok, I was going to wait until some other folks got into the farkas so I could give Paul a bit more to observe and frame his reactions around, but if no one else wants to I will also happily start working on a post now :D

It might be a good idea to try to save Krillen from being slaughtered if you want any information from him, because you're about to lose Tempest's journal....

Then again, I'm not sure it would be a good idea for anyone to come between the Berserker and his prey.....

Ok, my post is up. That's the battle so far from Paul's perspective. Please don't let me have ended it too quickly in anybodies mind. I so want to read what Telta and Brondgast do and if the reinforcements from the camp arive in time to help. (I'm counting on someone to help, maybe? please? )

Tempest made me do it!! :nono: you all read what she said! Thanks for having a magic sword by the way. CR thanks for dropping said magical sword on the battle-feild, don't know how I would have written that end part other-wise.

Just to be clear, the speed was the sword, the strength is Paul's; as mentioned in his bio (perhaps augmented somewhat by the sword. I'm not sure if it does that). Also, Paul's decision not to kill in this instance is pure character development. Personally I would have liked nothing better than take some names, but it just didn't feel right for this character with his lovable naïveté and angst to do so.

I get ya, Quill. I like the balance of blood lust and mercy on the field. You got my alter ego down pretty good to all though insane & blood thirsty kinda says it all. =:)

In the name of pacing, we don't want to bring out the big guns too long too early. I think we got some real good stuff to play with here but I am for winding this down if no one objects. I can do this all day if we want but I am also giving Telta that window I spoke of if we are gonna shut The Berserker down... which I do suggest no matter if this goes on a bit longer.

And buy the bye Quill that was some piece of writing. got my camera rolling big time thanks

Thanks for the high praise, Hue! :D I have to visualize it to make it work as well. You should have seen me in my classroom after school today! I locked the door and turned out the lights so some of my students who stay after wouldn't see thier math and Science teacher dashing about in his room with a wooden sword choreographing the fight. :P

Great posts!! Very exciting stuff!!

One thing, Erinhue: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the LAST time the Berserker was used that you had more control over him? Wasn't that a major part of the drama of our former story (I sometimes lose track....). It was around here viewtopic.php?f=25&t=97357&start=480 in the other Mithril Knight thread.

All I remember is that there had been some growth for him in that area......Before Telta bashes the bard's head in, do you want to address that somehow?

Um I kinda thought I did. Paul is still alive after all. but yes that control struggle goes on. It was more difficult this time around because The Bard really was angry. I tried to show the struggle when the Bard almost had control and then saw Tempest's sword again and got mad all over again and wound up back in the Lucky Fortune, He gained it back just in time to not kill Paul.
