OOC – The Gathering Storm - Celebrating 4 years

Pull out your pack and head on down to the Prancing Pony for some great Role Playing (try to stay in character)!

Postby Terry D » Sun Feb 18, 2001 3:49 pm

Very cool, in fact you took the words right out of Tintall's mouth!!! Incredible, very astute reading and sensitive role playing, all elven qualities!

The Dark Elves are not hereditary kin of Eol. They are each bound by the burden of one of their family member's traitorous acts. They have pledged by Ulmo to avenge the Traitor's Way. They are burdened by guilt, not their own (save one). They have formed a unique elven family, a clan of ideals, joined by commitment, deep as blood,.. save one?

Oh, yes, there is one of Tintall's companions who has a darker history than the rest,... and the paradox of his life has not yet been resolved!?!?

Well, the Dark Elves, have an almost zealot's fervor and discipline. They are guided by retribution and have devoted their lives to becoming the Troubedors of Vengeance! They have keen military skills, yet, they are not totally cold-hearted. They are Just! Save one....

I'm glad I caught on to where you were headed TerryD. Very cool concept, the Traitor's Way. Let's keep it rolling.

ON TO ANNUMINAS!!!!!

Does anybody know a poster allied with the Stewards that might be able to keep pace with the story? It would be very cool to have a Steward playing, well, the Steward.

On a similar note, I certainly would not mind somebody else to help me out in Gondor; Eldarion's certainly available, as is Tamarack, and there are probably plenty of other people in the area as well...

You guys think you have problems?

I'm starting to lose momentum here... aside from Tempest and occasionally Sauron's_Naggin_Wife, all other Mordorians have ceased posting.

This is discouraging... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>

The tale of the Dark Brethren will be interesting to watch unfold. Tintall has some potential, I think? I am very intrigued as to where they will go myself!

asaris, my character Trace, the Half-elven, is headed toward Gondor, eventually. Hope he can lend you a hand!

Do not despair black-hearted Barad-dur,.. When the long winded Noble Ones, start wreaking havoc, I believe the Mordorians will pick up and provide ample foil! I can say this because it seems that this thread has brought out the "long......winded.....ness in meself! Yoiks! I apologize for slowing down the pace of this excellent thread.

Sorry.

Doesn't Eldarion have sisters? I realize that they probably wouldn't get a Stewardship ( <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> ) but I think that they do exist.

well, i'm willing to start!! i've already said what my character and his position is. Would you like me to join in? I'll just repeat what my character is

Ghushnig, the troll leader in charge of protecting and keeping guard of whats left of Dol Guldur.

So what do you think?

Hey Samwise_JR, welcome again!

As I said before, join anytime you want. The troll character sounds cool and we definetely need more 'bad guys'.

Either hang tight at Dol Guldur and have some adventures there while the rest of us make our way there, or begin to make your way to one of us. The story basically writes itself so don't worry too much.
SamwiseJR, welcome! The more the merrier! Like Barad-dur said, take the story any way you want. Barad-dur posted some general guidelines for the thread right here at the OOC, they're a good rule of thumb.

Asaris, if you call on some of your fellow Gondorians (Gondorans? Gondorites?) to post for the cause, I think it would be neat.

TerryD, don't worry! You're not slowing anything down. Besides, we've got to wait for the Mordor team to catch up. Which brings me to......

Barad-dur, I can see what you mean. Without intending to bring too much alliance trash-talk in here, I must say, (roninscot2 looks both ways and leans in to whisper) look at the sort you're collaborating with. They ARE evil incarnate.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

roninscot2:

LOL <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> thanks, I appreciate your candor and support.

I'd agree that they would rather continue bickering in Alliances, but the strange thing is that they have ceased posting all across the MB. What gives? Where are you guys? Huh, you have a what? Life?

DAMN YOU... NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Elemmire, I don't recall the two sisters but I think that would be great. I'll see if we can verify them or if it is OK with everyone to just assume.

Would she then be called the 'Stewardess of Annuminas'?

The 'Flight Attendant of Annuminas!',

The 'Hospitality Hostess of Annuminas!'

......sorry, I eeexxxhhhhaauusstteedd.

Yeah, S_N_W, I can see how that would be a problem. I was looking for a good elf name, and that's the first one I came up with. It's from a mud I used to be on, where I was Elrohir, and another guy was Elohir. And yes, people confused us all the time <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>. If anyone else has a suggestion, I'm open to it.

MOS, who were the two Harad you mentioned in the story? Was that SS and the king he supplanted?

I don't think that MOS's bodyguards have anything to with SS's character, but then again I've been wrong before.

Speaking of our erstwhile Comrade Soviet_Sauron, does anyone know where he's been hiding? I need his character to move up from the South.

You'd think with a name like that, he'd be taking over the East of ME, not the South!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> Sauron always did prefer the East!

RedMaw, this time Barad-dur is right on the money, MOS bodyguards are at this moment just champions of Harad, what becomes of them I can not say.

Terry D, I think that Tempest is Smiling because she like's it when I'm nasty to her, lol <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> .
Minor confusion -- how old (exactly or about) is the King Eldarion? I heard someone call him the boy king (reminded me of Steve Matin's "King Tut" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>)

I actually came to the Internet Cafe to post my latest adventure and the computer's not reading my disk... ooooooooooh, if I've lost all my information..... I will not be a happy girl...

I was wondering about that too. It seems to me that he would hardly be a 'boy king', seeing as Aragorn and Arwen were married for 120 years.

Speaking of which..."Then she [Arwen]said farewell to Eldarion, and to her daughters, and to all whom she had loved..." from the Tale of Aragorn and Arwen. They do have at least two daughters.

Hey, I'm thinking that the Nazgul lord is not going to be too thrilled to see Tempest standing before him with her golden hair and looking like a shield-maiden from Rohan. Might bring back some bad memories.... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Barad-dur, I can't apologize enough. I'm sorry I misread the Minas Arnor/Minas Morgul thing and ruined part of your storyline, and I can see why Barad-dur was 'annoyed' with the Wraith. But when the misconception got into my head, the thread just came to me. Also, I'm sorry that I didnt' posts for a while there, but I was sick. I'll add on another post tomorrow. Also, I hope I didn't screw up any more plans with the whole palantir confrontation, but I thought it might add tension and depth without a direct confrontation. If someone will write for the elf I knocked unconscious, that would be great. By the way, Barad-dur, you will still have problems with NL's strong will. He was, after all, a king.

Tempest, I was thinking that same thing for when Barad-dur finally introduces us. I'm sure he was too.

Well, I will be paying more attention to the OOC from now on, in hopes of not stepping on anyone's toes.

Hey Nazgul_Lord <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

No worries about the confusion issue as one must be ready to contend with such things when writing a story in this fashion (multiple writers.)

Improvisation is the name of the game and I'll find my way around these curveballs.

As for NL's strong will, trust me, I've never discounted that aspect of his character. That's why the sparks are always flying between he and I. We just needed some space so I sent NL off to do his thing for a while. Also, no worries about the Palantir thing, I left that pretty much open-ended for you to deal with. I actually cheered when you used it and KO'd some nosey elf.

I hope you're feeling better and give some of your medicine to Shargrat23... that boy's been gone so long I'm starting to wonder.

Yeah, I haven't seen hide nor hair of him. (Punny, aren't I?) I've not really fleshed out what to do next. I was considering looking for my brothers, but with the other eight rings locked away in...well...you, I guess that will have to wait. Maybe it will come to me after I get some bloody sleep. Just promise me I'll have a post when I meet Tempest.
