Quietly the songs of the birds sang in the early morning as the final preparations for the wedding of Turin Turambar and Lady Elora Starsong were made by the guild of Iarwain Ben-adar.

(Edited to remove font colours in title of thread, which are not permitted at this time.)

The day arose clear and crisp, this 27th day of Narquelië. The showers of rain the evening before had been blown eastward and the dawn was bright and beautiful as the sun arose over the land if Iarwain Ben-adar.

This day began with the songs of the birds singing sweetly their morning songs, as Vanalaiture glistened, its remaining droplets of water danced in the light breeze in the morning sun.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ VANALAITAURE ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The immense hills and waterways of Vanalaitaure, located in Western Iarwain Benadar, was not yet Christened. For it was created especially for the Wedding Nuptials, a gift from the Ents and Entwives, and crafted especially in the style of Valinor, to remind the Bride of her homeland, and the floral and fauna she may have enjoyed as a child, in that magical land.
Above the hills and cliffs, was seen a Ridge of beauty and lush green landscape and flowers that blanketed the shades of green. The Beautiful Golden Tree donned deep ocre and tawny brown leaves that shone like a calling topaz pulse...Drawing all to the pinnacle of its Glory!!! The spot was beautiful and from its flat stone top , was a view for all imaginations to appreciate. The brook which opened into a Crystal lake, was dotted with tall trees and fragrant blossoms as a backdrop against the sandy shores. The view of a trillion Stars could not be matched anywhere!! For more were visible upon that lake than they naked eye could see..The Lake that was almost like a Water Observatory to the Heavens above!! The West was clearly visible from the highest point of Vanalaitaure, and it sometimes seemed their blue horizons were almost with reach!! The left ridge dropped off into plush but gradual ridges which would serve as reception areas ...The other side was plush with all of Eloras most favorite blossoms and botanicals...The Wedding will take place here at the Scenic Pinnacle of Vanalaitaure. (Also known to the Entwives as StellarTop) It was unique in that all the needed items to host this beautiful TORC Union were all-inclusive..and the wedding planners were able to use thier own imaginations to create wonderful adornments and areas of note for the Wedding.... This wonderous land, Vanalaitaure, was whispering throughout Middle Earth and the breeze was whistling an earthy tune.... as its Spirit, awaited the Wedding of Elora Starsong and Turin Turambar................

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A wooden cart arrived with a tall covered load, and four well-built men got out. There was a slow drip of water coming out of the cart, and the men removed the tarp to reveal a life-size ice sculpture of Lady Elora and Turin Turambar in embrace. His arm about her waist and her hand was upon his back as he gazed down upon his beloved and she looked up to his face, her hair flowing back and their hands together.

The men moved it to a platform behind where the buffet table was and it would be shaded for most of the day, and it would lose its roughness as the day went on. Having placed the ice scuplture, the men nodded to the valet and they rode away with their empty cart.

Elora had arrived late the night before, bearing the dust of her long road and a relieved smile to have finally found her way back. She encountered noone on her way through Iarwain to QueenBerithielsCat's secret cottage. She left her horse, Dolgukarbi, at the steps of the cottage and had just unlimbered the sadle tack from the horse as the door opened. It was filled with three elven women, who silently surveyed Elora's travel stained appearance with concern. Elora simply smiled mischievously in reply. Tack removed, she carried onto the cottage steps before moving indoors.

Just be grateful I managed to loose the wraith garb on the way back. If it's not too impolite of me, I must excuse myself and seek some rest. It has been three days since I last slept.

The morning found her dreaming peacefully of the man she would wed. The sounds of the women returning quickly woke her. With a start she sat upright, eyes wide as questions tumbled forth.

Is it morning already? Is the sun shining? Is anyone here yet? Is Turin here yet?

She raced to the window to check that the sun was indeed in the sky, in it's customary place for that time of day. The women smiled knowingly, aware that they had nothing more than a case of a skittish bride to contend with. They departed with her dusty leathers and left her to contemplate breakfast and the day before her.

The lone travellar picked up his pace. He could not be late for this celebration. Elora and Turin meant so much to him. But, he had to make one stop first before he could continue on his way to the wedding...

Friend walked in, wearing an apron and one of those silly-looking chef's hats and wheeling in a huge cart of food. Beside her flew Merry, (If you don't know who Merry is, there is a picture of him in my sig.), holding in his mouth the handle to a basket full of Hershey's Kisses!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> (I heard SOMEWHERE that Turin and Elora liked chocolate...<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>)"Hello Everyone!" cried Friend. "I have the food! And don't think that this little cart is all I brought! No way!" WIth that, she waved her hand, and several huge tables covered with white cloth appeared where they would not block the beauty of the place. Merry flew to the table and set down his basket of chocolate in the very center. Friend then proceded to load the table with food and decoration. There was southern Gondor fried chicken, a little tray arranged with slices of pizza, a special fish dish (requested by Elora and I can't remember the name of the dish), Ale in large quantities, and many other dishes. After Friend had wheeled in and emptied several carts, she wheeled in one final cart. It contained a huge 5 layer cake, with white frosting on it, decorated with leafy vines made out of green icing that wound their way up to the very top of the cake, where they seemed to converge to form a platform, atop which rested two figurines, one of Elora, and one of Turin. Friend looked intently at the cake, and waved her hand at it, muttering. The cake lifted off the tray of its own accord, and floated over to the center of the biggest table. Friend then smiled broadly and turned to adress the crowd. "Turin, Elora, I hope you and the guests enjoy the food! I made it all from scratch! And don't worry! Though the cake is covered with white frosting, inside it is chocolate! Actually, it's a little recipe of my own. It has chocolate cake, with chunks of chocolate inside the batter!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> Entwife, the place is beautiful! I love it!" Friend then turned to Merry. "Merry, you can stay, but you have to promise not to get ANYONE wet. Understand?" Merry looked up at her, and gave a reluctent croon. Then he flew to a nearby tree to watch the guests arrive. "Snowdog! a beautiful sculpture! It looks great behind the main buffet table! Unfortunatley the buffet table was not large enough to accomodate ALL of the food, so I brought in a few of my own in addition!"

Yet another heavily laden cart rumbles to a halt outside the marquee.
It is piled high with crates labelled "Dom Perignon, France".
The cart's driver, who looks in truth as if he has been sampling the wares on his cart, gets doen somewhat unsteadily from his seat:
"I am Patsy, trusted servant of the Knight Ayslhyn..hic!...he bid me say..hic!..that he and his lady Rwhen...hic!..send these fifty crates of champagne...er, maybe forty-nine that was? and they hope you enjoy 'em...hic!.."

Sandra had received word via an elven nomad of the grand occasion. Her present battle at Morannon had ceased after a nameless Dark Lord had retreated, his crude orcs fleeing after him.

Her clothes, that of a wanderer and a warrior, would brush up nicely for the wedding. Using slow telegraphed motions Erinhue carefully tuned the strings of his dragonharp under the suspicious glare of Agarak's jeweled red eyes. The harp was enchanted but even magic required maintenance and the bard wanted only the sweetest note to sound when he sang for Turin and Lady Elora at their wedding.

Yet two more heavily laiden (and well closed) carts rolled onto the green, this time, rather large. Some who peeked inside their shutters found that inside there were great basins large enough for a man to lay in, that sparkled in the little light there was inside the cart. None else could be seen. No one cared to much to peek into the carts, for everything would be revealed in due time.

A coach rolled up to the valet and stopped and as the door was opened, out stepped RavenTinuviel wearing a long black velvet gown with while embroidery about the bodice, the skirt and long sleeve hems. Her hair flowed free down her back with her bangs braided back and linked. Smiling she took out a small package and walked over to the gift table and set it down.

Looking about she was enamored by the surroundings and its elegant appearance! The ponds glistened in the morning sun and the birds songs were melodic. She bowed to the valet and saw she was early so she waited to see if her escort would appear.

Elora was feeling distinctly skittish as the morning passed. It showed in her voice, her movements and in the smiles of the elven women who returned as she was finishing breakfast. As she was occupied with an apple, and sitting still for a brief moment, the women decided to take advantage of the restless bride and moved in on her hair.

Oh, is that the time? But, I'd really like to finish that... Ow! Don't pull!

She was not accustomed to this at all, and found it difficult to sit still. But curls needed taming, and she had slept late. The women meant business and would not brook a bride's growing nervous enegry get in the way. In short order, although it seemed like hours to Elora who was forced to sit still and forbidden to curse, it was done. As soon as the hands were removed from her hair, Elora's hand shot forth to reclaim her apple. She really wasn't very hungry, her stomach was full of butterflies, she needed something to occupy her. A mirror was held in front of her whilst she ate, and her eyes widened around her apple.

Despite her fidgeting, her hair actually was done. It had been gathered back loosely and would fall from the top of her head from within her circlet when it was set in place. A few tendrils had been left to curl delicately against her face. The rest fell in large copper curls over her shoulders and down her back to her hips. At the end of each long strand hung tiny violet opals on silver chains. They tinkled softly as she moved and sparkled in the light as they swung at the ends of her hair.

Elora slowly set down her apple, and smiled up at the endlessly patient elven-women. A knock at the door brought her sharply to her feet.

If that's Turin, he can't see me! It's bad luck!

Elora moved quickly behind the door, the only place to remain out of sight if it was her beloved. She nodded and the visitor was granted entry. She could see from the expression on the women's faces that it was not Turin at all. Elora poked her head around the door and found a two elven men standing there looking back at the strange woman hiding behind the door. She was momentarily disappointed that it was not Turin before they announced why they stood there.

The Lady Eowyn bade us to deliver this to you, Guardian. She follows shortly and should arrive soon.

Elora smiled widely at that. Once the chest was delivered, the elves bowed and withdrew. Elora sent the women out after him.

Please, see that Eowyn receives what assistance she may need and ask that she comes when she is ready. My thanks to you all.

Elora closed the door behind them, leaning on it a moment with a sigh. She gazed at the chest that held her wedding dress, collecting her thoughts, before she moved to and began. She wanted to do this herself, needed some final moments of peace. She looked across at the Black Sword that lay in the bed still. It would have to be stowed with the rest of her luggage for the honeymoon. Time creeping away, Elora started with a heart that thumped to get ready.

Elora smiled at both Eowyn and Aerin. The cloak was beyond description. The word beautiful seemed hardly to fit it, as it's fine texture passed over her fingertips. Eowyn seemed so forlorn and puzzled by her smile. Elora took the dress she carries aside and simply gave her firned a hug before she stood back and laughed.

Why so grim, my friend? The chest is here and I could hardly expect you to cart it about yourself across the countryside. You had it sent ahead and there is no harm in that. What's more you're here as well, so why the unhappy expression.

If you start tears now, there'll be no stopping me either!

She turned to Aerin who was watching it all unfold with the air on one who has seen such things more than once before.

My thanks, Aerin, for this and all you've done for Turin and I in planning this day. The cloak is... well, it's exquisite. You have been more than a good friend, and I am pleased to have you here today as well.

Elora turned to a bottle of mead that chilled on a table. She poured three glasses. Once the three women had their flutes in hand, she raised hers and asked in a voice that danced with happiness.

To the kindness of good friends, shall we toast?

And following that, I suppose I should look at getting dressed...

Arriving there a servant took his steed away to a stable and he walked toward the small group of decorators,

Have you seen Lady Eowyn Dernhelm? he asked.

One of them replied that she had gone to see Elora, and at that Erenduil retracted his question,

Uh, oh, never mind then. Riding bareback upon Nightmane, the dark horse he tamed near Tharbad, Turin rode up to Vanalaitaure, where already many people had gathered, and were being seated at Scenic Pinnacle of Vanalaitaure. Turin realized the time was fast approaching and he hoped he looked good enough to stand beside the Lady Elora.

As his horse with pride stepped to a stop, Turin dismounted and stood, waving off the the valet for they would not be able to keep her, and he waved her away to a field where she roamed free. Turin stood there with his long, flowing dark hair about his shoulders, with a thin chain and a white jewel upon his brow. He wore a fine black linen tunic with silver embroidery upon it. The finely woven design was that of the four swords in each direction of the compass, and a flame in the middle of them. It was a bonding of the symbols of the house of Turin and the house of Elora. Fine-grain black leather breeches and black silk shirt, with a silver belt he wore as well, but he desired not to wear the cloak, for he wished to have free movement. He sent word to Elora asking if she wished him to wear it, for if it pleases her, he would.

Walking slowly and saying hello to those who were as yet not seated, he looked over the reception area. The ice sculpture glistened in the shaded sunlight and he knew the pose. He had dreamed it the night before! Turning to look at the food and drink tables, and the large cart, he nodded to Arcados and Darkmagus and Vincent, and steadied Ayslhyn.

"Easy my friend. there will be more than enough to drink after the ceremony. But none will be touched until then."

He smiled at bobbombadil as he sang at the gift table, and Turin realized again how nervous he was. He was doing all this to keep his mind occupied, for as he thought of Lady Elora, he would freeze and tremble inside, every nerve dancing under his skin.

Turin talked with Darkmagus on the day, and he wondered if his bride had prepared words. He did not, but said not to Darkmagus, and when it would come time for him to speak, he would know what to say. He wanted to sing a song to Elora, but was unsure of himself. The music played by Syrinx was melodic and Turin thought of the song. There would be much music and such and he considered waitint g until the reception to sing to her. So much raced thrugh Turins mind, he was starting to be overwhielmed! He wanted everything perfect for Elora, and he felt he was failing .....

...the arrival of Erenduil eased Turin's overloaded mind, and he smiled and reached to shake his hand.

As Elora was telling Eowyn she had a gift to give her, Eowyn said, "It so happens I also have a gift for you." Eowyn brought out the box wrapped in pale green paper and tied with gold and white ribbons. "Please, open it now", she said.

Eowyn sat, smiling, and picked up the beautiful crystal flute now half-full of mead which she had put down on the nearby table. She and Aerin watched as Elora untied the ribbons and removed the paper from the box. Inside she found a carved jewelry box made of a dark wood with an inlaid pattern of gold and silver lines entwined running around its sides. Its lid was engraved with a line of running horses around the edges, and in the center a carven horse pranced amidst grass. It was lined inside with dark green velvet.

"A toast to your marriage, then?", Eowyn asked, and the three women raised their glasses. "May happiness find you wherever you go, May you shelter each other from storms when they blow. May your love bloom forever like flowers in spring, and your hearts soar together like birds on the wing.", she said smiling brightly at Elora and Aerin.

OOC-Elora, I had made a similar post at Iarwain Ben-Adar, but Turin asked me to re-post it here, and I have done as he asked<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>. Happy Wedding Day to you both!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Eowyn

Aerin's lips rounded in a silent "O" of delight. The box was so beautiful! She smiled, then raised her glass again. "To your marriage!"
