Name:Riencuran Elenath
Title: The Dark Crescent, Assassin of Minas Morgul

Race: Sindarin Elf
Gender: Female
Age: Undisclosed
Eyes: grayish-black color, though she is blinded several years into the Fourth Age
Hair: raven black, neck-length
Height: 6'3''
Appearance: Skin tanned from the sun, very light scar on left cheek,
Personality: Quiet, loyal to her beliefs, fiery temper,
Languages known: Sindarin, Black Tongue,

Clothing:
Forest green cloak, black tunic, dark green shirt, loose pants, padded boots
Occupation: Assassin, thief
Skills:
Archery, knife throwing, stealing, sword fighting, makes her own poisons, with unique antidotes.
Weapons: Two twin long-swords, wrist knives, boot knives, and numerous other daggers, bow/quiver, and poisons/antidotes.
Mount: Black stallion called Shadow Blade

Family:
Parents: Her father Celebthoron was killed during the War of the Last Alliance, before the Third Age. Her mother Naurris left for the Havens, after hearing the news of Riencuran turning to the Tower of Black Sorcery, with her two older daughters.

Siblings: Rien’s older brother, Luinithil, was injured on the fields of Mordor, by an orc’s arrow, while he was trying to fend several other orcs off his father. He was reported dead by a human called Marek Longbow, but actually survived(See The Road Less Traveled). Her two sisters, Mithren and Thel, left with their mother for the Havens.

History:
Riencuran was born in Imladris, to Celebthoron and Naurrís Anor.
Rien's brother though, Luinithil, who was the oldest, loved her. He hated it when she tried to gain her parents love, and they hit her in return, and would try to console his sister. He never spoke to his parents again when he found Rien's face bleeding from being hit by Celebthoron.

Luin spent all his free time with Rien, teaching her how to shoot a bow, how to search for the right healing plants, and how to survive on her own, since his parents would undoubtedly toss her out one day.

Rien tried and tried again to earn her parents love, or her sisters, but to no avail. She was always hit or ridiculed in public. Then the Last Alliance was formed, and her father and her brother joined. Rien suffered at the hands of her mother and sister's for the next eleven years, until the War ended, and she received news of her father and brother. The message said that Luin and Celebthoron were dead.

The shock made the poor Elfess lose her memories of everything except one place, Mordor. She had saddled her mare, Ránaraca, and rode out of Imladris.

After about three weeks of straight riding, she ended up near Mordor, or rather, Minas Morgul. She fell off Ránaraca, and lay there. Some hours later, mercenaries of Minas Morgul found her, and took her to the Moontower.

When Rien woke, she still did not have her memories, and was tricked into thinking she was a servant of the Dark Lord. She got a mark on her right arm, of a crescent moon, and was permanently bound to the Tower of Black Sorcery.

She knew only how to shoot a bow, and use a staff, so Rien was taught how to use swords and knives. Luin had made weapons for fun, and had given her two twin long-swords, promising her that he would teach her and Rien still had those swords with her.

Years later, while she and some other mercenaries were discussing a raid, some of her memories came flooding back. Frantic, she immediately rode back to Rivendell, only to find herself marked a traitor and banished. She tried to gain entrance, but was refused. Her mother wouldn't see her, nor would her sisters. Cursing the Elves of Imladris aloud, she rode back to Minas Morgul.

About fifty years later, she tried again, after hearing that her mother and sisters were departing for the Gray Havens, but was banned from there too. She cried and wept to be allowed to at least say good-bye, but still was refused. She cursed her family and all Elves that lived in Rivendell yet again, and went back to Minas Morgul, feeding off her hate of Elves and killing any that were of the House of Elrond that crossed her path. She hires herself out as an assassin and thief, killing because of the hatred that was rooted within her and stealing for the money.

During the Fourth Age, she took part in helping a man called Dhalir take over Middle Earth. He spread a plague in order to help his plans. Riencuran killed him when it seemed like triumph was near, but unfortunately, her plans failed, and she retreated farther into Mordor as Middle Earth recovered from Dhalir’s attempts and her own.

But a year later, she was at it again, helping a half mortal, half Elf named Carum Kadoa, the Desert Lord, take over Middle Earth through a prophecy, only to change alliances and help a lightsider defeat Kadoa.
((Please note: This is a Role Play character only, owned by SilverScribe.))
*******************************************************************

Name: DELKARNOTH the BLACK

Race: Noldorian Elf

Gender: Male

Age: Ancient, born in the First Age

Height: 6’ 5”

Build:Slim but strong

Weapons: Black-bladed broadsword, serrated on one edge. Various elven knives (the usual)

General Bio:

Not a lot is known about this ancient Elven sorcerer. Being the inquisitive type, SilverScribe was able to find out a few things during the initial time that she spent, at his invitation, in one of his smaller, hidden citadels. (He has several hidey holes, this one is a little known annex that was tunneled slightly north of the Mines of Moria, then forgotten when the connecting tunnel collapsed.) Some of what she learned fueled her already healthy suspicions and aided her in the decision to have nothing to do with him, but by this time it was too late. He wanted a mate and sensing latent power in her, offered her immortality, which she refused because of the terrible price. However, not one to be thwarted, he imprisoned her and performed the black rites anyway, chaining her spirit to the earth and forever changing her. She escaped with only her life, and he has maintained a connection to her mind and hunted her on and off ever since.

So, in the early days of her ‘visit’, SilverScribe stumbled across his ‘records’ room and was able to glean a small amount of information. It was not much, but this is what she was able to discover:

He is a Noldorian Elf, born in Doriath near the end of the First Age. Orphaned by the third great battle of the Wars of Beleriand, Dagor Aglareb or the Glorious Battle, Delkarnoth was passed from kin to kin, a thing which caused the young elf to become sulky and withdrawn. He made few friends and became known for his solitary habits and volatile temper. He began to study the darker side of Elven magic, and so his lust for power was born.

He made the mistake of falling deeply in love with the Lady Galadriel, who did not return his attentions, since her heart already belonged to Celeborn. She must have sensed the darkness in Delkarnoth's nature, for after a time she actively avoided him.

He became more and more jealous and more and more enraged, thinking that she sought only to insult him, and not considering that her love for Celeborn went farther back than his lifetime. In frustration, he often rode out and joined in any battles he could. Finally, thwarted and bitter, he rode out alone, riding towards the East.

His years between the Glorious Battle and the final Battle of Unumbered Tears (or Nirnaeth Arnoediad) are unaccounted for, but it is obvious that he found a home among the savage tribes of the Easterlings. His name surfaces only briefly during Nirnaeth Arnoediad, for he rode foremost in the company of the sons of Ulfang, on the right hand of Uldor the Accursed, leader of the treason. He openly took part in the betrayal of the sons of Fëanor, but must have escaped death at the hands of the sons of Bór that day however, and fled back East. For although another long and blank chapter ensued, his story continued early in the Second Age.

There were vague but damning references to the courting of Gil-Galad by Sauron, and the Downfall of Numenor. A brief mention is made of The Last Alliance, then another long, blank period where his years and activities are again unaccounted for.

Finally, the last bit of the records mention the coming of the five Istari to Middle Earth, a little over a thousand years into the Third Age. Veiled references are made to two Blue Wizards who come into the East, but do not return with their kindred back to the lands of the West. The fate of one is unknown to Delkarnoth, but references to the other are made as "Morëistar", which in Quenyan means ‘Dark Wizard’. This is a mysterious figure, dark and powerful and forbidding. He is finally referred to as a suspected servant of Sauron, but his true name is never given.

In the later parts of his secret records however, Delkarnoth refers to him as ‘Mornhîr’ and calls him "Master".

((Mornhîr in Sindarin means “Black Master”.))

Note: In later years, SilverScribe learns that one of the other names for Luinil, her teacher, is ‘Alatar’ and it is he who tells her of the other Blue Istar, Pallando. But she does not, at that time, make the connection between this name and the one called “Morëistar”.

Name: Rholarowyn
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Height: 5’8”
Build: Slim, yet muscular
Hair: Light Brown and falls to about mid back
Eyes: Green
Martial Status: Single due to her commitment and dedication to training and duty. She holds a personal belief that love in the romantic sense would divide her loyalties and therefore make her a less effective warrior.
Weapons: Sword and daggers (Not so good with a fire poker)
Horse: A large grey gelding named Tamir
Traveling companion: A dark wolf named Chirion (Does not appear in every RP)
Occupation: Mithril Knight, and pursuing Warrior/Bard status
Personality: Extremely loyal to that and those which she cares deeply for. A good warrior. She has many acquaintances, but very few whom she considers close friends. Rho is also more comfortable in the company of men then that of woman.
Skills: Excellent with a sword and riding horses

Background:

Rohan:

Rho was born in the land of Rohan in the year 2995. She was deeply loved by both her parents and remained their only child. Her father, Ryomer, was a good and honest man who was well known through out the Riddermark for his skill with horses. Lawen, Rho’s mother, was the middle sister to Denethor II of Gondor. The union between the two met with disapproval from the Steward’s family since Ryomer was not descended from kings or noble men. So when Lawen choose to marry him, she was rejected by the Steward’s house, and all ties between her and her family were cut off.

Growing up in Rohan provided the ideal childhood. When Rho wasn’t involved with chores or instruction, she could be found roaming the countryside, losing her self in nature’s splendor, or off galloping across the plains on one the family horses. And if the young girl had been born with any inclinations towards being a lady, they were quickly squelched by trying to keep up with her three older, male, cousins Rydan, Heldred, and Bryttar, who also lived in the ranch with their parents and Rho’s Grandmother.

But in Rho’s eleventh year, fate dealt the family an unexpected blow. It wasn’t the day that Rho’s father, uncle, and another man, left on their short journey. It was the day the three men were supposed to return and did not. For two years the woman waited, while Rho’s cousin’s searched, but it finally became apparent to all involved that they could not continue to live they way they had been. Everything, and everyone was suffering. So one night, by the late evening fire Lawen, Rho’s grandmother and aunt, as well as the three young men, talked through all the possibilities until some final and concrete decisions were reached.

One month later, Rho and mother were being led away from the only home known to the young girl. Denethor had become truly remorseful over the recent turn of events in his sister’s life. Seeking to make amends for their fifteen year separation, a message was sent to his sister in Rohan inviting her to return to the city. A house would be provided to her and her daughter until word of her husband or the man himself was found. It was with much difficulty that Lawen finally accepted his offer.

Minas Tirith

Adjusting to the city life of Minas Tirith was extremely difficult for Rho. Yet is was more than the pain and sorrow of her father’s disappearance, separation from her Rohirrim family, and her mother’s continual withdrawal from life left the young girl feeling isolated and alone. A new set of expectations had been placed upon her and a new role was being defined. No longer was she allowed to wander off by herself to explore the world around her, not that she wanted to. Her life of open fields and gentle breezes was now replaced with cold walls and Towers of stone. Then the pants she had always worn were replaced with dresses, and lessons of folklore taught to Rho by her Grandmother were replaced with formal instruction. So at the age of thirteen, Rho’s pain turned inward and as she tried to comply to the desires of those around her, but slowly anger and resentment took root in her heart, and the White City as it was affectionately known by so many, became her physical and emotional prison.

One year later, news of Ryomer and his brother’s death was brought to the Steward’s house. As shocking as that news was, what made it more difficult was that all indications pointed to murder. When this news finally reached the young woman something in her spirit was awakened. No longer was she willing to sit by while others continued to dictate the direction of her life. So in the darkness of a moonless night, Rho made a vow. She would avenge her father’s death, and to do this she would need to learn how to become a warrior. It was with this new focus, conviction in her heart, and a small amount of desperation that Rho sought out the Minas Tirith knight, whom she’d met only two weeks earlier.

Much to Rho’s surprise Culanir had agreed to train her, and much to Culanir’s surprise, the fourteen year old was a determined student and willing pupil. And it had quickly become apparent that she had a natural talent for handling a sword, as well as an intense dedication to her training that reminded the knight of himself in his younger days. The two trained together in the secrecy of night and went undiscovered for over a year. But when their secret was finally discovered, a new secret quickly replaced the old. Culanir would never be known as Rho’s first mentor, and the deep friendship that had formed between the two, was completely severed.

If Culanir’s willingness to train her had been surprising to Rho, the next man who took over her training was a complete shock. But somehow despite their tumultuous beginnings, her cousin Boromir had seen some of the same talent and determination that Culanir had seen. And so it was with a new mentor that Rho was allowed to continue with a train with a sword, as well as being allowed to return to wearing pants instead of dresses. In return for this, she was to continue in her formal education until the age of eighteen.

Rho continued to grow and mature with her weapon of choice, and so did her love and loyalties to Gondor. So when the War of the Ring, finally reached the land she now called home, she too was a part of the battles on the fields. Fighting along side men and fighting for the victory of men. But as it was for all who lived in those days, along with the victory, came losses. Losing her mother just before the war, then Denethor and Boromir during the it, hit the young woman hard. So in her search for finding a new place to belong, Rho found herself becoming a member of the Mithril Knights Warrior Guild in the early part of the Fourth Age.

Nadira (Nectar), created specifically for The Sea Wolves Roleplay story

She was but four years old when her parents died, killed by desert bandits who ambushed their caravan, mistaking the troupe of travelling entertainers for merchants. Her brother, fourteen years her senior and her only kin, used his manifest charm to ensure the troupe did not abandon the helpless, useless girl child to the desert. Besides, having lost the father--a man whom fortune seemed to favour until that last, mystifying abandonment when the bandit's knife sought his life--they did not wish to lose the son. He was the most gifted acrobat amongst them, surpassing his father but inheriting his irresistable smile and melifluous charms of persuasion which swelled their takings by winning the women and challenging the men.

Aviel, would not leave his sister--and who could blame him. A more fetching, bewitching child would be hard to imagine, with her rich chestnut curls kissed into blonde streaks by the desert and eyes huge and shapely as a desert giselle's--violet blue as the depths of a mountain well, as the velvet sky behind the stars. And when the girl smiled that sweet, generous smile, each one swore that she smiled for him alone. No, they would not have left her, even without Avi's charm and irrefutable skills, even if they did not keenly feel their obligation to her parents, Khorva and Eldana.

And so, she was adopted by the troupe. Nadira her parents had named her: "Rare"--and rare she was; rare beauty, rare sweetness, with a vibrancy about her as fresh as a sea breeze caressing your face on a still day. But amongst them she became known as Nectar for none could resist the child. By the time she was 10 she held all their hearts lovingly in her small hands. She knew with intuitive, uncalculated ease how to get whatever she desired from her adopted uncles, rewarding them with sweet gratitude and they scrambled for her good favour--and Aviel laughed to see his sister blossom under their combined care.

They soon realized that she was quick; her eyes missed nothing and she picked up the acrobatic skills effortlessly. She watched them perform in bedouin encampments, in the bazaars and market squares, in the reception halls of nobles and governors and viziers. Seeing her interest in their craft they taught her all they knew, though female entertainers were commonly frowned upon as whores--unless they could dance, of course, for that was considered divine art. She wanted to learn and they indulged her unquestioningly as they always had. By the time she reached her sixteenth year there was nothing more they could teach her; she honed her own talent with instinctive insight and enthusiasm. Avi admitted himself bested.

It was whispered that elven blood had flown in her mother's veins, that some Northern demon was in her ancestry, but whether or no, Nectar had her mother's innate grace and agility, and a surprising strength in one so lean and supple. A keen eye and an unsuspected ruthlessness--her father's trait--gave her unlooked for precision with the throwing knives. She discovered a hunter's instinct. Blindfolded, she could find her target by the sound of his breath.

And her charm....unaffected and without pretension, she won over those she met. Brought up wholly in male society, she learnt none of the feminine competitiveness common in girls of her station. Such cattiness perplexed her and she welcomed female company with open, hearty warmth, embracing the succession women who travelled with the troupe--unspoken paramours of this uncle or the other--as sisters, and her sincerity won their affections and loyalty where otherwise she would have been seen as a rival.

Impetuous, quick-tempered and possessed of a razor-sharp tongue, male company did not intimidate her. Yet there was nothing of the coquette about her; rather she retained a naiveté, a wide-eyed innocence which her uncles were careful to protect. Accustomed, therefore, to the straightforward relationships with her adopted uncles, there was no coyness in her manner amongst other male company and so men...well, men became drunk on her smile and they drowned in her eyes. Nectar.

Which made her, of course, an accomplished thief. It was a natural talent; her father had it and she inherited it along with her brother, though Avi had greater flair while she was a mere dabbler. There was nothing malicious in her thievery; items somehow presented themselves to her...and she collected them. It helped, of course, that her fingers were light and nimble, that her eyes were wide and keen. She could tally the value of a gold chain to a nicety without need for scales and weights.

It was a game that Avi had taught her to play as soon as she was old enough to explore the bazaars alone...a challenge as to who could return with the greater booty. Avi egged her on, mockingly comparing their relative heists for he inevitably returned with the heavier load. But Nectar's eye became discriminating, seeking only the best on offer even as she worked to beat him at their game—though he always bested. She would not give up hope; each time she failed to overtake him her disappointment spurred her to redouble her efforts and determination. Her brother and her uncles had early learnt that she could not, would not back down from a challenge; she found it impossible to resist a dare. Tell her there was a thing she could not do and with fire in her eyes she would set herself to achieve it, leaving havoc in her wake.

So she grew to full womanhood, happy enough in her craft and her companions but increasingly restless. The troupe travelled constantly, seeking new audiences though just as often they fleed from authorities too close on their tail. But Nectar found her world too small, the company too constrained. Having reached her 20th year, she longed for wider horizons, new stimulation...and she longed for a different kind of love than the comfortable, secure affections with which she was surrounded.

Umbar: the city called to her. The troupe had often played that city, the last time when she was but 15 years old, and the memories of the colour, the crowds and noise, the vibrancy had filled her daydreams since. And the sea tempted her...a woman of the desert, those memories of the blue water crashing against the city walls haunted her and she longed for the smell and taste of the salty spray on her lips. And now, their travels would take them to Umbar once again.

JUST THE FACTS, MA’AM
Name: Nadira (meaning “Rare”) but called Nectar by those who come to know her
Race: Mortal woman of Harad, though rumoured to have some elven blood in her veins, possibly even demon ancestors (to be frank, she’s descended from Nienjah, but quite distantly)
Age: 20 at the commencement of The Sea Wolves roleplay
Physical characteristics (as an adult):
Tall enough to be noticed in a crowd, supple, svelte, strong and sinuous—she’s an acrobat, after all.
Rich chestnut hair, kissed into gold streaks by the sun, which falls in thick, heavy curls to cover her tush when loose, but is usually bound up about her head, to avoid inconvenience when performing.
Fine-boned face, with a generous mouth given to laughter
Violet blue eyes, huge and shapely as a desert giselle’s
Feisty, vibrant, razor-tongued, she’s no coquette
She’s got a hunter’s instinct with a throwing knife (she can pinpoint a fly blindfolded)
She’s a natural thief, with a good eye for value, but not malicious or calculating; it’s a game to her

Weaknesses:
She cannot stand down from a challenge, can’t say no to a dare.
She’s absolutely naïve about men, expecting them to be as straightforward with her as her uncles are.
She acts before she thinks, not tempering her feisty nature with logic.
She's quite temperamental, obstinate, incurably inquisitive.
She's not a fighter--though she can leap, tumble, twist, turn and generally escape trouble using acrobatic skills...and of course she can throw a knife--and she's terribly squeamish when it comes to hurting others.

WORK IN PROGRESS: some of the detail may yet be fine tuned.

Name: Teltasarewen but better known as Telta
Gender: Female
Age: Stopped keeping track for it serves no purpose but to remind one of things long past.
Race: Elf
Appearance: Telta stands a little over 6’ and has sky blue eyes and pale blonde hair falling to her waist. Usually found garbed in pants, knee high boots and tunic over a blouse.
Occupation: For a very long time a thief (picking pockets her speciality) but has since then given it up and was hired as a waitress at the Lucky Fortune Inn. Has achieved the status and title of Bard of Renown-Telta the Tale Bearer.
Weapons: 2 daggers which she is highly skilled with and deadly when needs be. Also good with a bow.

Thief...it was a name Telta had learned to live with. She was not proud of it but it was the occupation that she had immersed herself in. A dangerous life though it mattered not. Ever since the death of her twin brother she had wandered aimlessly living from day to day distancing herself from everyone never getting involved with or letting anyone get close to her.

She and Thalirhos, her older brother by a small margin, had been very close. They trained together learning sword skills and archery. Both were often found practicing and testing each other, pushing themselves and each other to their limits. It was one such occasion that had set her on her dangerous path.

Practicing archery skills as they were wont to do, selecting targets for each other Thalirhos held up an apple, something he loved to eat, betting her that she could not hit it. Confident that she could she agreed. She did not know that he had meant to hold it while she tried to hit it. Small doubts had her trying to get out of it but he only dismissed her protests challenging her to try and outshoot him. And determined to do just that her pride winning out over her sense she took the shot.

But it was not apple flesh that the arrow struck. Thalirhos had been struck and when he cried out it crushed her. There was nothing she could do the wound was fatal. She held him close even after he had passed away. Her clothes were soaked with his blood and so too was her hair that had laid in his blood upon the ground. In a fit of uncontrolled grief and anger at what she had done Telta cut her hair off short and left Mirkwood never to look back.

Grief, loneliness and despair encompassed her like a cloak as she wandered empty and uncaring. In this frame of mind she delved into the role of a thief finding that the dangers involved were the only thing that made her feel anything at all. That was until she happened upon the Lucky Fortune. A new life began for her then when a kind and generous offer from Erinhue, the co-owner of the Lucky Fortune helped her to give up her former life. No one before had reached her, no one cared until then and it touched something deep inside her that she thought long dead. She ceased being a thief and has since learned that friends and friendship can go a long way to healing one's heart.

Her mother was a healer and her father was a horse breeder. When Dailen was only six, orcs from Mordor came to the village in the dead of night and began to burn the houses, driving people out. Some of the villagers they killed, some they caught for enslavement. Dai's brother and sister were some of the many that were taken away to be made slaves. The orcs didn't find Dailen because she had hidden herself behind a pile of straw that was behind the house. After the orcs had left, Dailen crept out from her hiding place and stared at the massacre before her. She ran to her father's stables, which had been made of stone in case there was a fire, and took out her pony Lasse. She then rode away from the horrible scene. Looking for help from other villages, she found them burning too, smoldering gray ash where the houses used to be. She collapsed off Lasse and started crying softly; hoping that it was a dream, an awful, evil dream, eventually falling asleep.

A mercenary happened to be nearby and found Dailen alone, sleeping, tear streaks on her face. Kneeling down next to her the half-elf saw the black ash and soot on her clothes and realized that she was from one of the villages that the Orcs had been sent to raid. She gently picked her up and carried Dai to her own horse. When Dai woke up she found herself in a camp, with people that she did not recognize. The mercenary who had found her in the first place explained as gently as she could what had happened. Dailen, confused and lost, asked to become a mercenary like the half-elf. Dailen got the crescent moon mark on her right arm to show others that she was now a mercenary of Minas Morgul. That was the beginning of her new life.

After a few years she had forgotten her family except for the smile and the gentle eyes of her mother. When she turned ten she could use a short-sword and a small knife. At eleven she could ride a full-grown horse and at fifteen she could use a broadsword, longbow and crossbow. She also began assassinations. When Dailen turned eighteen she could use every kind of sword; she could cut a throat in a certain way to make it quick and painless or slow and torturous. She could creep up behind some of the sharpest thieves in the camp and could track a falcon in the sky or a snake in the grass. After a few more years she left her group for Gondor and Rohan. She wanders both countries, as a hired assassin and an expert thief, merciless and cold to all except Tári, Kemen and Cunn.

Aliana Marsàlan
Race: human
Age: 19 (chronology varies slightly depending on RP)
Birthplace: Rohan
Appearance:
A little unusual, for a woman of Rohan. Around 5'3", with medium-brown hair she usually wears tied back, and brown eyes- she inherited these features from her Gondorian mother.

Wears plain, practical clothes when traveling. She favors dresses out of pure habit, but she’ll probably start dressing like a guy once she realizes that skirts can be a hindrance in certain situations. Her only piece of jewelry is a simple silver ring she wears on her right hand, which has been handed down through the women of her mother’s family for several generations.

Personality:
Usually somewhat quiet and reserved, but with a strong will and a wry sense of humor which comes to the surface if you speak to her for long enough. Despite her quietness, she harbors a sharp curiosity about the world around her. Growing up around Riders of Rohan has given her a strong sense of the importance of loyalty, and also of the dangers present in the world. She often has a air of sadness about her, and a deep awareness of loss.

Belongings/Abilities:
Carries a bow and arrows, with which she can defend herself well enough against common thieves and rabble, thanks to the training she received from some Riders, including her brother Auren. Also carries a knife which belonged to her fiance, and a small amount of quills, parchment and ink. Trained as a scribe, she can read, write and speak fluent Westron and Rohirric. An avid reader, she is fairly familiar with the histories and legends of various cultures. Being Rohirric, she is also a pretty good rider; she has a gelding called Rust, so named for his color.

History:
Aliana's father, Èothren, is a scribe, and in charge of the Archive of Rohan at Edoras, a project started in the years following the War of the Ring. Her mother, Mìrien, a beautiful and vivacious woman, died in a riding accident when Aliana was 8. Even though much time has passed, Mìrien's memory still remains vividly with Aliana and her brothers.

After their mother's death, Aliana, her older brother Auren and her younger brother Ceorth began to accompany their father to Edoras every summer while he worked as an archivist. As children, they spent quite a bit of time around the riders stationed there, and eventually learned things about both being scribes and being soldiers.

Auren eventually became a Rider of Rohan, married a young woman named Trewyn, and made a home at Edoras. Ceorth wanted to become a Rider, too, and had begun his training at Edoras by the time Auren was married. Also by this point, Aliana was helping her father with the archive full-time. One summer, she agreed to help a young Rider named Relian learn how to write. A son of a family of roaming herdsmen, his background was very different from Aliana's, but he was very intelligent and kind. The two promptly fell in love and became engaged.

Then, while out on a routine patrol, Relian's unit was attacked by orcs in what turned out to be a horrible massacre; only Relian and two other men escaped to return to Edoras. Among those killed was Trewyn's brother Deomar, with whom everyone in the family had been close.

After he came back, Relian was not the same person- he was moody and withdrawn, drifting slowly away from everyone he knew. About three months after his return, he disappeared. His horse was gone from the stables, and his armor and weapons were found piled on his bed. Along with these things was a note to Aliana saying that he would not have been a good husband, and that she should forget him. Despite many searches in the days and weeks following his disappearance, Relian was never found.

Èothren eventually arranged an apprenticeship under a scribe in Minas Tirith for Aliana, but by a few unforeseen turns in events she ended up in training to be a shieldmaiden. This ended up serving her better- she had developed a quiet but steadily growing desire for justice, if not revenge. She is in the process of becoming a warrior, but also has spent time as an itinerant scribe as circumstance and opportunity demands.

==========
P.S. Much thanks to Leslie & co!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Another one of the slew of characters I control--along with Lurea, Maelan, Selerosse, and Leonir.

Name: Marius di Brendar

Race: Rohirrim, perhaps a bit elven

Gender: All Grade-A Hunky Male

Age: 25

Height: 6 ft. 3 in.

Weight: 200 lbs

Hair color: Ebony

Eye color: Brilliant aquamarine

Marital Status: Single, but always looking

Occupation: Prince of Rohan, defender of the weak, Lover of Beauty and Poet of Pictures, the "Fighting Artiste"

Outfit: Rohirrim armor, chainmail, the emblem of the Mark upon his garments. He also wears a hooded cape when traveling and not on a war campaign, large black boots, and the garb of a man who is rarely without his trusty steed.

Means of Travel: One of the royal horses of Edoras, Berrog

Weapons of Choice: Laikemuil, the blade he was given when he became a man according to Rohan's customs. His father, Eomer, had continued close relations with some elves nearby and they had prepared the mithril sword the day he was born, blessing it with a drop of his own blood. Complementing the silven sheen are several rubies set carefully within the carvings, these catch the light most exquisitely. The dagger he carries is one of purest silver—one he smelted himself, with his father looking proudly on, when he was a boy. The gemstones are not of great worth, but with these chips of gems he created a mosaic of a battle, with his father leading the charge. It is dear to him, but is yet only a show of his artistic mettle, for he rarely uses it in battle. Laikemuil more than suffices for every battle, so only in dire need is this dagger drawn from his boot. Additionally, the dagger may sometimes be coated with the Eastern Scorpion's poison when he is on military campaign in the East.

Skills Include: Artistry in the form of paint, charcoal, and flattery; obstinate warrior who would rather die than allow his homeland to be compromised.

Personality: Notorious as a Ladies' Man, this smooth-talking hunk is sure to get the ladies' hearts pounding, especially with his velvety voice, boyish good looks, hypnotic eyes, and effortless charm. However, he is known to "love 'em and leave 'em". He is reforming, on a positive note, but is far from being cured of such a disease. Sometimes he tends to be a bit more impatient than is desired in a warrior, but his instincts are rarely wrong. When he is not wooing, his voice tends to be soft and his hands occupied with a paintbrush that he typically wears over his ear when he travels. He is fiercely protective of family and is willing to shed blood in order to guarantee their safety.

Bio: Born to Eomer and Lothiriel (the daughter of Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth), Marius was trained with the Marshal of Riddermark himself, outdoing even his elder brother, Elfwine, the future king of Rohan. He is never destined to be a ruler, but seems content; as the second son he has the freedom to travel whenever and wherever he wishes and of this he often takes advantage. Whilst Elfwine was forced to study politics and manners, Marius ran wild as a boy, stopping only for a gentle reprimand by their mother at the distances he covered. His heart continues to roam to this day, especially when he is contained in one place for too long.

True love does not seem to be in the books for this fearless warrior, as he, though he knows it not, has fallen for the elf Byronie, who seems to have fallen off the face of MiddleEarth. He continues to chase after any pretty face, though it seems that his past shall return to haunt him, perhaps inspiring a change in his behavior.

Name: Barathin son of Banili.
Race: Dwarf.
Gender: Male.
Age: He has forgotten how to do maths, but he remembers that he was born in T.A. 2819.
Height: About 4’10”.
Weight: About 22 stone.
Appearance: Thick red beard and hair which has hardly ever been cut, ruddy coloured flesh, which is covered in scars and jet black eyes.
Residence: Varies, generally in Erebor, but he travels, normally to the Glittering Caves.
Occupation: travelling stonewright and smith.
Marital Status: single.
Means of travel: his own two feet.
Weapons and Armour: He uses an ornate axe called Grandas, and mithril chain which is a gift from Thorin Stonehelm for his services.
Personality: He has a very big heart, but his lack of intelligence means he often goes a stray when meeting new people. He hates things that are against the natural order of things, and has a distrust for elves, and a general dislike for ‘Man ale’ because it is too weak.
History: Barathin was born in the Iron hills, to a brewer of beer with an incredibly intensity, which he drank since he was young, giving him a large resistance to the effects of more sane beers. From a young age he enjoyed hunting orcs in the far off Misty Mountains, and would occasionally come across a troll which he would test his strength and ability in battle against. It was on one such foray that he came across an immense troll deep in the roots of the mountain. He naturally attempted to kill it, but it would have bested him, had an earthquake not occurred which loosed a boulder onto the hapless beast. Unfortunately the earthquake had trapped him in the underground lair. He therefore journeyed into the bowels of the Earth, where he found the axe Grandas. As soon as touched it he felt the magic surging through his body. Though there was no light, but its runes still glittered with a light of their own, and he could feel that it was an extremely ancient weapon. He found the axe on the body of an ancient dwarf, lying in a stone alcove undefiled, throw all the ages of the world that he had lain there. When he continued he took with him the axe and left his own in place of it, for he could see that it was forged to fight evil and would be better used than left in a grave. He found a tunnel leading from the chamber, opposite the alcove, and he travelled upwards for what seemed like many hours.
Eventually he came to a solid wall that he could not get past. After his long trek this new obstacle was crushing, so he sat with his back to the wall and sang an ancient lament of the Dwarves, telling of many great deeds from the elder days and this singing hardened his heart, so he stood and resolved to go back to where he had battled the troll and to dig his way out, but as he sang the wall pushed back, even as a door. Behind that door was a long tunnel leading up to a light. He stumbled up the slope until he came to the exit of that passage. When he emerged he discovered he was high in the Misty Mountains, the sun was shining as he looked out west across Eriador to the Blue Mountains and the home of Thorin Oakenshield. He strode out of the tunnel with renewed vigour, and nothing seemed to be able to dampen his spirits. He looked down and noticed rivers glinting in the sunlight, and the green of woods and fields. He then journeyed on the long road back home.
He continued to fight the orcs, and at the battle of five armies Barathin fought alongside Thorin Oakenshield and Dáin at the gates of Erebor, and slew many orcs, but also on that day he received a terrible blow to the head from a giant orc with a hammer.
From that day Barathin lost his sense of common sense, and would try and battle most things, as if he had consumed a barrel of strong Dwarven ale brewed by his father. Though he lost his intelligence and wisdom of when to back down he didn’t lose his big heart and he always aims to help those that are being persecuted or have been wronged.
At the battle of Dale in the War of the Ring Barathin again fought beside Dáin and Brand and was beside Dáin when he fell, that day Barathin killed 3 mountain trolls, and more than a hundred orcs, though the last troll fell on him and hid him for many days during the siege of Erebor. When Bard II and Thorin III drove the orcs from Dale Barathin was found still lying under the troll where it had fell on him, and there was much laughter from the men and Dwarves who freed him, barely alive and very thin.
Since then he has wandered much, and put on some bulk since he lay in the mud of Dale, he has made friends with many hobbits in the Shire on his wanderings and frequents the Green dragon of Bywater.
Though he travels much, he has also stays in Erebor and visits his cousins in the glittering caves, where he has leant his expertise in the arts of metal work. Luckily, his lack of intelligence doesn’t stop his great skill in Stonework and metalwork.

Postby Naiore » Sun Feb 23, 2003 10:33 pm

It was bound to happen, Naiore's appetites being what they are... introducing you to:

Name: Vanwe

Race: Mixed parentage - Quenyan (mother) and Edain (father)

Gender: Female

Age: 20

Heigh: 5 ft. 9 in.

Build: Slim but not without her curves

Hair: Straight to the middle of her back, pale ash blonde - a silvery version of her mother's golden hair and trait of Finarfin's House

Eye color: Clear green - again, from her mother mother.

Marital Status: Single

Occupation: Varies according to available work. Ship's cook is her present employment.

Outfit: Usually Vanwe will make use of whatever best suits her circumstances. Not being of station or wealth, she has a simple style. Located in Umbar, and being often on ship, Vanwe wears a mish mash of Umbar garb for men and women to accommodate her lifestyle demands. She wears loose fitting pants made of cotton that once may have been white, tucked into rough leather boots that finish mid calf and are tied around her lower legs to keep pants in, boots up and water out. Over this falls a caftan that is loosely fitted and lends some acceptable modesty to her unconventional garb. Beneath the caftan is a man's shirt with full sleeves that are often rolled up to her elbows. Apart from a belt knife, sung around her waist, she has no other weapon or armour. Hair is often left to look after itself, as she has little time of her own to spend on personal frippery. Tied back from her face, braided, piled onto top of her head it is rarely left loose and invaribaly in the process of undoing itself from whatever binding Vanwe has put it into. Regardless, the unusual silvery sheen of her hair seems to mark her elven heritage despite it's haphazard disaray.

Means of Travel: Whatever she can afford. Most often, her feet, trading caravans or the ship that she works upon.

Weapons of Choice: Vanwe tends to avoid weapons, as they seem to lead her invariably into trouble. The belt knife is up to only cooking and eating. But it means she does not find herself in more tricky situations as other weapons in her short life have thus far led her into. Apart from the belt knife, Vanwe is remarkably agile and quick on her feet. Given her station and lot in life, she's learnt what she needs to survive without a protector on the streets.

Skills Include: Vanwe is an accomplished survivor, despite her personal hurdles. Like most dispossessed she has had to carve a living for herself with what little opportunity presents to her. She is quick of mind and instinct, and this has worked to her advantage more than otherwise. She's adept at petty thievery. She is able to slip in and out of places unnoticed when she wishes to be. Vanwe is good at keeping a low profile, provided she keeps herself to herself.

Often, her temper leads to more notice than she may be comfortable with. She is a seasoned verbal reasoner, able to talk her way out of many a tight situation and when that fails, fights as dirty as she has to in order to escape with her skin in tact. Vanwe is adaptable and very flexible. Most of her talents suggest skills she'd rather not have, again courtesy of her mother. But then her pragmatic approach and remarkable internal strength are gifts from her unknown father. The skill she has most developed is that of cooking. Vanwe loves the art, and it is through this that she is attempting to make a half way honest living. However, competition to be a ship's cook is fierce, and being a young woman in Umbar presents it's own challenges. Vanwe is fast developing a reputation for being a formidible opponent when it comes to defending her own ground.

Personality: Vanwe is essentially a confused young lady trying to make her way alone through the world. Her heritage is mixed, and she carries with her much of the darkness that marked her mother. Abandoned at an early age, she has developed a tough exterior and very little of her true thoughts and emotions bubble through it. What does seem to escape is her anger. Vanwe seems to become angry, rather than hurt or scared, and the heat of her anger is frightening to both her and those unfortunates around her at the time. Most of the time she is busy watching her back, or working hard. She is guarded, slow to trust, but when she does it is unshakeable. Vanwe spends a lot of time on her own, but she will never tell you whether that is the way she likes it. She's well able to keep to herself. Her smiles are rare, but dazzling, and her laughter is something few have heard. Most see Vanwe as a quiet girl, if they notice her at all, and that is perfectly acceptable to her. She struggles with her history and her parentage, and her quiet moments are haunted by things few would guess at simply by watching her.

Bio: Vanwe is the daughter of Naiore Dannan, a notorious Ravener and servant of Sauron (described here in the Archives also), and an unknown mortal man. It's likely her father died shortly thereafter meeting her mother. Naiore was known for her taste for cruelty, malice, suffering and pain. Her mother was a complicated creature, a Quenyan elf who had voluntarily embraced Darkness as a result of her empathic tendancies and desire to know where the darkness she sensed in those around her came from. Naiore quickly abandoned Vanwe after birth, and why the Ravener chose to bear her child is unknown. Much of Naiore's motivations are difficult to discern.

Born in the Fourth Age, in the year 900, her mother had by now realised the full pain of being disavowed and disowned by her people. Barred from Eldamar for her henious crimes, Naiore is doomed to wander mortal lands until she fades. She had little interest in mothering a new born babe and gripped by restlessness abandoned Vanwe after naming her in Umbar. Vanwe's name, Quenyan for lost, was a sardonic choice by her mother, and that was the last thing she left her daughter.

Vanwe was left at a small village, her pale hair and skin and her unusual eyes pause for comment amongst the villagers. Being parentless, Vanwe was taken in for curiosity value primarily and the potential that she may generate some income for the poor village. Vanwe was a serious child, and at first possessed of a wild temper. She withdrew into herself, earnt no friends and at the age of 9 absconded from the village. Those she left behind breathed a sigh of relief.

Vanwe noticed things all too clearly. Ser mother's gift of empathy, a sense of the emotions of others and the ability to understand and manipulate them, had not passed to her daughter entirely. However she seemed to be extraordinarily perceptive and knowing for a child of such tender years. It was alientating for those in her vicinity.

Vanwe soon gravitated to the coast, following her feet and perhaps her mother's longing for the sea. She found it easy to blend in, provided she kept her tempter under control. Thieving, running messages, Vanwe managed to sleep off the streets most nights as she struggled to understand herself and her place in the world. It was not long before Vanwe's elven heritage meant she drew unwanted attention as she matured. An incident with a stolen short sword and a great deal of blood left her shocked. She did not have her mother's thirst for blood, and something (perhaps her father who was victim to Naiore due to his nobility) ached within her. She dropped the shortsword in the street and resolved never again to take up a weapon.

Vanwe found herself over time, around the inns of the wharf, for that was where work could be gotten. She soon gravitated to the kitchens and learnt to cook. Vanwe found she could forget herself when she cooked. Her reputation slowly grew and the better money of a ship's cook soon lured her off the wharfs and onto the boats and ships. She remained a loner. Forgotten by her mother, she drifts aimlessly now. But such cannot continue, for sooner or later her place in the world will claim her and history cannot be denied. Vanwe must, eventually, come to know who she is, where she comes from and what she will make of the time she has. The longing to know of her parents cannot be kept tightly supressed, and someone may well recognise her mother or father in her face and manner. As with all things, there will be a reckonning that comes from her existence all that she carries with her.

Vanwe is of an age where the possibilities seem at once infinite and narrow. The emptiness within her, from which her anger seems to feed, cannot continue indefinately. Either it will kill Vanwe, one way or another, or it will push her to fill it. An intelligent woman, Vanwe is prone to questions and sooner or later she will demand answers to questions that have plagued her all her life.

(Created a new character for a new RP that, unfortunately, seems to be dying just now that we've started. I hope to use Silwen in another RP someday. just like my previous character, this one is incomplete.)

Silwen:

Race: Elf
Gender: female
Age: 55; equivalent of human mid-twenties. (Fourth Age of the sun)
Appearance: average height, fair-skinned, blonde, unusually green eyes (some say her love for plants is reflected in their colour); wears a light green robe
Weapons: knife and short-sword
Alliance: Lothlórien, her home
Self-reliant; likes company to distract her, but also likes being by herself once in a while; open to new things; she has been taught the lore of beasts and plants and wants to sail to see what lies beyond the Hither Lands. She has never been away from Lórien before.
Skills: very good hearing; excellent swordfighter who can wield any blade; trained archer with strong dislike for archery; stronger than she appears.

History:
Already as a child Silwen is very curious and loves the flora and fauna of her land. She fills her books with lists cataloguing all plants and animals that exist in the Golden Woods. The thought of leaving to see other places never crosses her mind, and she knows only of few who leave Lórien on some errand, but all of them return after a short time. She never feels the need to go anywhere else.

The sage Celebhen takes her in with her parents’ permission to teach her the lore of all living things. He has a son, Valmir, whom he educates with her. Valmir is a master archer and swordsman who begins instructing Silwen in his art. She soon falls in love with him, but never says a word to him. One day, during practice, she accidentally kills Valmir with a stray arrow. From now on there is nothing to keep her in Lórien and she feels she must leave, for she has spilled Elven blood. After the incident she becomes a more fervent seeker of knowledge. She believes her studies will keep her mind off her terrible deed, and she never touches a bow again.

Travelling Elves bring news of an expedition leaving from the Grey Havens and Silwen packs her most important belongings consisting of scientific equipment and books. Celebhen her master, grieved both at his only son’s death as well as at her departure, accompanies her to the Grey Havens.

Name: Rykago
Age: 28
Alliance: Mordor
Race: Men
Eye color: Murky Brown
Hair color: Dark Brown
Gender: Male
Weapons: Composite Long Bow, self-made Broadsword, and a shield with the symbol of the cross upon it.

Appearance: Rykago is almost always seen with full armor on, which is a full suit of plate armor, plate guantlets, and a "bucket" helmet, which has two eye slits and holes punched in it for breathing. He has a golden sheath, which he polishes every other day. If there is no fighting, he wears tough leather shoes and he doesn't have his armor on. He has a blue tunic, and silky green pants, from Sauron for Rykago's many victories. If you were to get a strand of hair, it would stand 1 1/2" up. Is it all brushed back, so it is not that thick. His hair is very thin also. His skin color is a peach color. He has a deep wound running from his left hand to his elbow, which he received after fighting in his first battle against Gondor. He weighs 130 pounds, so he is fairly thin. He is just right to be able to ride his horse, Pyros, because with all the armor, Pyros weighs about 250 pounds. Pyros is a rare breed. He is pure white, with some dark white streaks going across his body.

History: Rykago was born into the Kingdom of Gondor. His mother had died years ago, due to an unknown disease, so all he had was his father, Ithulen. His father was a general in the army of Gondor. In one battle, his father went over to the enemy camp, assuming they would surrender. They didn't accept, and quickly chased him off, trying to kill him. A spy had seen this, and thought they were plotting. He quickly told his lord Faramir about the incident. Faramir sent the guards to arrest Ithulen, and they did. Faramir ordered him burnt at the stake. Rykago watched as his Father was burning. He immediatly went on an emotional rampage. He killed all of the guards and tried to kill Faramir. His father uttered these lasts words to him "Fight for Gondor" Then, his father's head hung, and he was dead. Immediatly, Rykago burnt the stables down to the ground, and stole a white horse, which he named Pyros. He stormed out of Gondor, and headed for Mordor. He disobeyed his Father's last orders and he headed for Mordor in search of a new King. He spent a long, long journey heading there. He finally reached the Black Gates. The guards demanded to know who he was and where he came from. He knew if he said Gondor, he would be killed. He said his name was Rykago and he came from Isengard. He told them he wanted to see Sauron the Deceiver. The orcs led him to Mount Doom. He slowly got off of his horse. He smelt the smell of sulfur. It burnt his throat. He looked up into the Eye of Mordor, and said "M'Lord, I have come to serve thee." With that, Sauron made him a Captain in the Army of Mordor. He has fought in many battles against Gondor and Rohan, however he still has one goal. His one goal is the destroy Faramir.

Personality: Rykago is a very serious person. He uses his stare to strike fear into his enemies, and the people who threaten him, hoping they will save their lives and stay away. He can get his hand on his sword, take it out of its sheath, and slice something in 1/4 of a second, which is remarkable. He has one flaw, however. His flaw is his pride. He will never admit losing to someone. Whether it's arm wrestling, or bow target practice, he will go on and on until he wins. He is trained with the Composite Bow. His father taught him all the skills that he knows, up until he died. Then, he had a knight, like him, train him, under the service of Mordor. He can shoot arrows with incredible speed, making him a born warrior. When in battle, he can remember his Father's death, and Faramir's face, and will go into a rage. He will hack at everything in his path. One time, he went into the back of the Gondorian line, and he started spinning around. The sword span with him, and it cut through everything that it touched. He knocked out 1/10 of the enemy all by himself. He has some difficulty shooting at ground units, however, for they are always moving. He much prefers to lie down on the ground, and pick off enemy archers that are on the walls. He now uses his father's war call, which he cries out, when he sees the enemy.

Name: Declynn [Deck-Lynn] Elanor Winters
Nickname: Firecracker, or Ice-Witch (Depending on what you think of her)Also Leslie sometimes calls her Deck.
Title: The Black Ranger of Bree
Race: Man
Gender: Female
Age: 18 to 34 years old (Depending on RP)
Height: 5'9"
Weight: She'll hit you if you ask! (121 pounds)
Hair Color: Dark Auburn (With red highlights meaning Dark Red hair)
Eye Color: Crystal Blue
Appearance: Declynn is also often times mistaken for an elf because of her beauty. But here is her picture Declynn Elanor Winters By: Jonathon Earl Bowser. Also here is a second picture that I drew of Declynn Elanor Winters which is the closest picture to what she looks like, but she’s a lot more beautiful. Declynn is also often times mistaken for an elf because of her beauty. She has long deep dark red hair that is long, slightly wavy and comes down to mid back. She has sparkling crystal blue eyes.

Build: Tall, slender, with lovely curves. (You get the idea! She's just like any other women)
Material Status: Single
Occupation: She's a Ranger, but not your ordinary Ranger!
Outfit: All black outfit. (Like the one Sawsha wears in the movie Willow)
Means of Travel: An all black horse named Demon, who is sort of a practical joker.

Skills Include: Gymnastics, hand to hand combat, Swords, daggers, bows, hunting, tracking, survival, horse back, reading, writing, Elven languages, and the Language of Mordor or the Black tongue.

Weapons of choice: A long one or two handed magical sword at her side (Unbreakable like Leslie’s sword except purple sparks of lightening ignite from the blade when fighting an opponent with an magical weapon as well), a bow attached to her back, two daggers attached to her wrists that come out at the flick of a wrists and are called her 'Wrist Blades', and two daggers in her boots.

Personality: Believe me she's not your ordinary Ranger at all, She hides personal pains, but also has an extremely funny and unusual sense of humor...which is often times considered weird and twisted. She holds an untold hatred for all men this hatred almost matches the hatred Declynn feels for Orcs, it's nothing personal just the way she feels. Deep down and only revealed to Leslie she still wishes for prince charming to come and sweep her off her feet. But she will never admit it she even hides her emotions when men are around, often times men consider her to be cold, cruel, and heartless, but she really isn't. Other then that she's considered by friends to be smart, strangely funny, and down right weird.

Past bio: Declynn is a close friend of Leslie's (my main character I use). Although Declynn and Leslie are best of friends and very much alike, they are ironically different at the same time. While Leslie wishes she could remember her past, Declynn wishes she could forget! Declynn's family, friends, and village where all whipped out right in front of her, when she was six years old by a group of Ors (around the time of the War of the Ring). Declynn was rescued by Leslie just as they where about to kill her. After the battle at Helm’s deep, Leslie left Declynn in the care of an old woman to go fight in the war. But a few months later that old women died and Declynn set forth to become a Ranger. Declynn hung out with groups of Rangers including an older man named Drake, at a much younger age then most others Declynn learned what it took to become a Ranger and also became a much better tracker then most.

When Declynn was eighteen she was sent forth to investigate strange disappearances and was captured by a group of men of all races. This group consisted of 3 human men, 3 elven men, 1 dwarf man, and 1 male hobbit. For four days strait Declynn was beaten and suffered much more untold horror by the group of men. Somehow though Declynn freed herself and killed this group of men---very slowly!!! As such her vengeance was not merciful. Declynn was later found by Drake and a few other Rangers sent to find her, She was found with her clothes for the most part ripped up and almost covered in blood. She was huddled up against a rock clenching a knife in her hand. None of the rangers could get close to her except for Drake. When examined scars where found all over Declynn's back, she had said that every time she disobeyed or fought back, the group of men brought a whip to her back as a reminder not to disobey them.

The group of men where found tied to the trees around Declynn; it had appeared she had tortured them unlike ever seen before. At first Declynn was terrified of any and all males except for her good old friend Drake, but later she seemed to develop an attitude especially when she realized everyone and their cousin was trying to protect her from all harm. It was soon discovered that the men whom attacked Declynn had been carrying a plague. The plague was supposed to be Sauron’s second attempt at overtaking Middle Earth. His apprentice Dhalir had brought it forth, and had also kidnapped Declynn due to her resemblance to his daughter. In her short time in Mordor the plague had proven its own advantages. In blind rage she was twice as strong as any man, she could learn faster hence her knowing the language of Mordor, and had a type of connection to other people infected with the plague that were nearby. Dhalir turned Declynn to evil for a short time, and she was taught also to be an Inquisitor, one of the best Inquisitors actually. Unfortunately her incident with her attackers has had bad side effects on her, for it has disabled her to bear children and has also turned her blood to a deep deep dark red color. After Leslie had come to free her, and they with the help of friends destroyed Dhalir and the remaining black dust (Plague), brought the cure back to Middle Earth and distributed it into the waters.

The cure however does not work on women, and therefore Declynn is one of a last few whom carry the plague. They can not transmit it to others, but many of the women infected kill themselves off not wanting to live with the pain. So far Declynn is the worst case, she was held captive the longest, and was ‘injected’ with the plague the most, yet is somehow the strongest for unlike the others she lives to hunt down any of the permanently infected ones that the cure has no effect on. Dhalir wanted an army so he not only infected men with the black dust, but he also had given them something to permanently infect most of the infected men. Declynn keeps notes on the infected women, but usually when she comes back to check on them they have committed suicide. Unfortunately many in Middle Earth refuse to acknowledge the idea of a plague ever existing, and therefore blame Declynn for all the horrors during and after the plague. They have come to call her by the cruel name: The Black Ranger of Bree. Mainly nowadays when she isn't with Leslie on missions, Declynn hunts the permanently infected men.

When asked what the group of men had done to her, Declynn merely replies: "I have learned what any type of man are truly like, and if any man EVER touches me again. He WILL learn my hatred!" Some people that Declynn's traveled with actually believe she hates men of any race as much as she hates Orcs! Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel both strive to heal Declynn completely. It is still uncertain whether or not Declynn will ever be able to have children or be completely free of the plague, but due to her vow to see no other woman goes through what she did she hunts the permanently infected to this day and strives to protect innocent women from hurtful men infected or not.

Note: Inquisitors were and are minions of evil they began in the time of Morgoth and still exist in Mordor even after the destruction of the one Ring. They tortured people for their Dark Lords to do one of three things bring their Master pleasure, retribution, or to gain information. Usually it was to gain information, so they got the name Inquisitors. They know the true arts of causing pain, for they are the True Masters of Pain.

Family/Friends:
Leslie: Declynn’s best friend, whom is like a sister to her. But in Drakes absence Leslie is also Guardian to Declynn.
Drake: Declynn’s mentor and guardian, who trained her to be one of the best rangers and trackers. He is not around her much anymore though.
Lord Elrond: A close friend, whom looks for a way to completely heal Declynn.
Lady Galadriel: She is a close friend and looks for a way to completely heal Declynn.

Current RP’s:
1.) The Plague of Middle Earth
2.) The Prison of Raloh
3.) Caravan to Khand (Finished!)
4.) The Hunt for the Bride
5.) Rain on Bree

Name: Elen Sil (not Elen-Sil, sometimes just Elen)
Race: Elf, Noldor
Gender: Female
Date of birth: 3rd of April SA 3430
Height: 147 cm (for the time being)
Weight: 45 kg
Hair Colour: basically golden, long hair but appears to be black from twilight to night…
Eye Colour: Olivine-coloured eyes (shining, dark green)
Comes from: Lothlórien

Appearance: Her face is beautiful like all elves, but she has a mysterious look and you can always see that she is thinking of something, maybe thinking of you, so be ware -be decent! She has big eyes and dark eyebrows. Her mouth has beautiful curves that covers her white and nice teeth. Her skin is rather white but has a nice tan colour in the summer. She's slender and has long and clever hands and strong arms. Elen Sil isn't weak nor masculine -absolutely not but never underestimate Elen Sil…

Marital Status: Single (waiting for the right one, but not desperately, oh no…)

Outfit: A green-grey travelling tunic inside her Lothlórien-cape. When she is at home in Lothlórien and Caras Galadhon, she wears this green, light and fluffy dress made by her mother Carangaladhwen. She loves that dress -witch explains why she always runs with it through the wood to her secret spot -the uncommon willow among the Mallorn trees… On special occasions she wears a green and black gown with silver threads forming the leaves on the gown.

Animals /means of travel: She owns a horse, a strong stallion, he's white with black 'socks' and on the left side of it's neck there is a black spot. His name is Aratfalas and he carries Elen-Sil without no problem through heavy snow as if it was summer. She rides him when she's travelling.
She's got a dog of mixed breed; She is black with a white mask. Elen isn't aware of what kind of race it's mixed with, but she thinks that Crystal is the most beautiful and best dog she have ever seen.

Weapons of Choice: She carries a longbow with a quiver of arrows, a set of 12 knifes and two daggers when she's on adventure. Her brother, Carnemelion gave her a lovely dagger shaped like a Mallorn-leaf with a beautiful sheath. It's sharp and very dangerous. Her brother said to her that she could never lend it to anyone, never let anyone use, or take ot from her. She keeps it inside her tunic and it was meant as a last way out of trouble. Carnemelion wanted her to be forever protected with it.

Other things she carries: (On adventure) Small bags filled with different herbs, rope, shreds of textiles for cuts and sores, her little harp, maps -depends on where she's going (Lorien - Rivendell, Lorien - Fangorn, Lorien - Mirkwood, etc…) A little toolkit with different, small, useful tools. The most of this she keeps in a green kitbag when travelling outside Lorien.

Skills Include: Running (short distance) Very good in throwing knives, shooting with her longbow, hiding, making gadgets, writing, reading, drawing, strategy, climbing (-the latter; of course).

Jewelry: she's got a necklace of gold with a red little ladybird with small legs of gold that sits on a green mallorn-leaf with silver-silhouette.

Cuts and scars: Elen Sil has scare on her right shoulder. This is how she got it. She was once riding together with her brothers into Mirkwood to visit the Elves there. They were on the edge of the east end of the wood when they were attacked by orcs who was sitting in the tree. They jumped down and surprised the three elves and as one of the orcs attacked Elen Sil he cut her on her right shoulder. It went deep, but Carnemelion shot the ugly orc right away. It went deep but she didn't brake anything. Killed the rest of the little gang quickly enough so they could concentrate on healing their beloved sister. They healed it very well but even today she can in bad times feel it's icing in through her ores.

Personality, weaknesses and strengths: Elen Sil is a quiet Elf of mysterious nature who is close friends with few. Very respected though, among her close friends and family. She's intelligent and has a good sense of humour, but always earnest.
Elen Sil isn't exactly talkative in front of strangers -she always watches her mouth for not telling too much. She isn't very good in tracking footsteps, but she knows the difference between a dwarf and a hobbit…She hates war, but doesn't fear it. She also have a strong hate for orcs and trolls as all fair peoples have. If she's in trouble (meeting enemies) together with her friends, she often just walks away and her companions worry. But she always turns up in the last moment to surprise their enemies. She's very inventive so when she DOES come back she might as well have managed to set up a trap out of almost nothing. She hasn't really been on big quests, but she is eager to get on one. If she were to be on a big quest she would never leave her companions in great danger, but her judgement tells her when she can't. It has often happened that she HAS to go away, because she's the inventive one in the family, so she sometimes have to sneak away to set up a trap or surprise the enemies some minutes later.
But my point is, she often disappears without anyone noticing right away. Her family worry a lot about her, but she always turns up again. If she's at home she is most likely under her beloved willow. Elen Sil sometimes just sit completely silent, just breathing and thinking. That is sometimes a problem for her friends that tries to talk to her. But she never does that when she's out on adventures, but the silence has made her very calm and concentrated witch is very needed when travelling.

Bio: Elen Sil was born in Caras Galadhon the 3rd of April SA 3430. Her mother Carangaladhwen is a master in making the very fine Lothlórien-capes and she is the leader of the making of these ones and other lovely clothes. Therefore she is very respected among her kin and is a very good friend with Galadriel and with that Elen Sil knows Galadriel too. Carangaladhwen can make an outfit that makes a traveller almost invisible. Elen Sil's father Carnëurion is the best Swan-boat builder Lothlórien has. He is also of very high rank and is a respected elf. He is commanding the boat-builder staff.
Elen Sil has got two brothers Merendil and Carnemelion. Elen Sil is the youngest of these three and Carnemelion is the oldest.
Elen Sil has a secret little place in the Golden Wood. It's a willow by a little waterfall. She often runs there to be alone. She likes her own company better than crowds, but Aratfalas and Crystal is also there. Her brother Merendil built her a little talan in that willow when she was a little elf and it is still there. She has a box up there where she keeps beautiful things. Around the willow witch is rising right by the little river she is whispering to her horse, teaching her dog new tricks, mending her bow if she has to, making new arrows, climb in the willow, hangs up beautiful ornaments and crystals on the tree that makes a beautiful clinging sound in the wind. She takes it down when she wants it to be completely silent. She also just sit under it or on the talan and draw, or climb to the top, playing her harp, listening to the sound of the river, eating fruit, making small things or gadgets that she finds useful for her adventures.

The family live in Caras Galadhon but they have a kind of a second home by Anduin since Carnëurion is a boat-builder.

She found her little puppy left and forgotten by the river Andúin as Elen Sil and her father with his boat-builder elves were to settle a new swan boat. The little female puppy was almost dead when she found her laying in the wet and tall grass by the riverside of Andúin a cold morning in late March. But Elen Sil brought it to her dad Carnëurion as they were preparing the boat. Elen Sil begged her parents to let her keep it witch she did. She can't let her little dog sleep in the trees, but it sleeps beside Aratfalas since they have become very good friends.

Elen Sil have been in Rivendell and Mirkwood but never on special quests or missions. She is yearning for that.

Postby Krakken » Fri Apr 11, 2003 10:49 am

Name: Krakken
Race: Elf
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Age: 3,476
Alliance: Rohan
Gender: Male

Appearance: Krakken has light brown hair, that softly runs down to his elbows. His eyes are green like the forest leaves, and he wears a tough leather armor, which is a brown color. He is not heavily armored, for he likes to be agile and graceful. Krakken wears a green, silk tunic underneath his armor, which keeps him farely comfortable while battling, and while he's just at comfort. He has an elven bow and a quiver upon his back . He has a spear, which he uses two handed.

History: Krakken was born into the Kingdom of Rohan, where he was very comfortable. His father was a local bartender at the tavern in town, and his mother worked on the farm, milking the cows and brushing the horses. Krakken was a lonely person, because he really didn't get to know anybody in his neighborhood, save the people he met at his Father's travern. Krakken was trained in the sword by a warrior his father had paid. Krakken began to learn a lot, and he became a marksman at archery from his teacher, who was named Gunitreda. He was a great friend, who died a couple years after Krakken became his trainee. One day, Krakken's hometown was attacked by a band of orcs, who were apparently on a raid. The orcs burnt his Father's tavern down to the ground, with his Father still inside. They slaughtered his mother and all of their livestock, but Krakken fought back. He killed a lot of the orcs, along with his master, Gunitreda. Gunitreda was wounded while chasing the orcs away, and he died later after it became infected. Now, Krakken had no one left to turn to, so he went into the military..into the Riders of Rohan. He fought in many battles against Mordor and the other Dark Kingdoms. He tries his best to contain his anger when he sees orcs, but sometimes, his memories are just too much, and he goes berserk, hacking at everything in his path. Krakken lost his valued sword in a battle with uruk-hai, and then made his own spear out of sharpened metal and the wound he found nearby. The spear was his greatest power, which he seemed born to wield. He has racked up an incredible kill count with his spear.

Personality: Krakken is a gentle warrior, who does give mercy on those who surrender. He is extremely skilled with the spear and the bow. He has scars on his chest and his arms, all from battles. Also has some burns, from previous raids. Krakken is more of a peaceful warrior, like the nature of the elves. His love for nature is enormous. He will have fantasy chats with trees, and the such, when he is lonely. Krakken is not an aggressive fighter, letting the opponent choose to fight. Krakken will not fight if it is necessary, and if he does fight, he will do his best to not kill. Krakken is a very good person.

She can be insolent, sardonic and mocking if annoyed. She’s really intuitive, she can pick up on things most people would miss and is really sarcastic but always ready for a good time.

Bio: Many, many years ago in the forests of Mirkwood, a wizard fell in love with an elf maiden. She was named Ellantra and although she was very fond of the wizard, she loved another. Their father, Draysean, was a great friend and advisor of king Thranduil but their mother, Morganna, had died giving birth to them. The elven healers knew they could either save both children or attempt to save the mother. Morganna knew they had to save the children for she wouldn’t have lived anyway. She knew this because she was a descendant of the elf Ellantra and she had been sentenced to,

“Die before her time in a way unknown to elves.”

Morganna had died to save her new born son, Tarion, and daughter, Narloth, but the daughters fate had already been decided and was possibly to be the worst for the family to cope with.

Out of memory yet far from death,
One of twins is not at rest.
Cursed be she with hair of fire,
For she is ruled by deep desire.
She is different from her race,
The one with deeply hidden grace.
She won’t remember friend from foe,
The mislead child with far to go.
Cursed be she with tainted power,
And cursed be she of summer showers.

The young girl was named Narloth because her hair was as red as fire. This made her very unique, as red hair was very unusual for elves, especially in Mirkwood where most elves had very light hair. Everyone else in her family was blond, including her twin brother, Tarion.

Growing up, the twins were incredibly close, they nearly always knew what the other was thinking. No one knew them as well as they knew each other except maybe Prince Legolas, who was best friends with Tarion and loved Narloth who loved him too (sorry, I couldn't resist<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>).

When the twins were 127 years old, they decided to journey to Lothlorien with Legolas and a few friends. They were just a day out of Mirkwood when their company was attacked by a group of orcs who were led by an elf, an assassin for the dark powers, Dahlia (Who I'll probably try to bring in to this).

The small company knew they had no chance of winning a fight so they all mounted their horses and tried to escape, but the orcs were armed with crossbows and three elves were shot dead within a minute. Narloths own horse was shot in the leg and reared up, throwing her off. She flew almost ten feet and hit her head very hard on a rock. Thinking she was still behind them, Legolas, Tarion and two other elves made it to Lothlorien but when they were the only ones to arrive they were forced to believe Narloth was dead.

When Narloth woke up she remembered nothing. She opened her eyes and saw the dark elf, Dahlia, standing over her. Scared that she couldn’t remember anything she mistook Dahlia for a friend and asked her who they both were. Seeing the confusion in the young elf’s eyes and realising this job would be easier than she’d guessed, Dahlia told her honestly who she was,

“My name is Dahlia. I am an assassin, spy, thief and many other things for the dark powers.”

But then lied to her by saying,

“Your name is Amriya. You are also an assassin and a thief. We were told to kill these elves and we have done so, but you must have hit your head really hard if you can’t remember.”

Narloth instantly believed her and for a while they became part of a band of mercenaries called Chaos. They were with three other elves called Torvio, Raquim and Maurai but when they were paid to take part in a battle after a few years they got careless and Raquim, Torvio and Maurai were killed. After that, Dahlia and Amriya went their seperate ways, Dahlia going back to work for any evil power that needed her and Amriya stayed as a mercenary. She has never remembered who she really is but there is a chance, that if she met one who she was close to before the accident, she may remember.

There she changed her last name from Halsing, to Fírebanor, which meant ‘mortal sun’ in the Sindarin tongue. She then decided that if she wanted to see all of Middle-Earth before she died, wandering would be the only way to do it. So that is what she does, with an occasional visit to her parents in Gondor.

Will be editing.

Postby Bryttar » Thu May 15, 2003 7:08 am

(OOC: Bryttar is being written by Rholarowyn who, in the RP world also happens to be his cousin.)

Name: Bryttar
Race: Human (Rohan)
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Height: 6 ft.
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Occupation: Has served several years with the Riders of the Mark, and is a bard.
Weapons: Short bow (for shooting off horseback) sword, and daggers
Horse: Cresterl, a chestnut gelding
Personality: Generally calm in nature, he is laid back, enjoys sharing good stories, and making people laugh. However, he does have a strong commitment to duty and will defend that and those he cares about.

History:

Born in the northwestern part of Rohan, Bryttar was the youngest of three sons born to Aytan and his wife. His father and uncle Ryomer (Rolarowyn’s father) owned a horse breeding farm, which Bryttar and his two older brothers, Eldred and Rydan, helped with until the fateful day when Aytan and Ryomer went off to buy a new stallion and never returned. Two years later, when Bryttar was 16 and the family finally let go of the farm, Bryttar took his two brother’s advice and joined up with the Riders of the Mark. It was one year later when the older brother’s uncovered the truth, or what they thought was the truth, about the fate of their father and uncle that lead to a drastic change in the young Rohirrim’s life.

After receiving permission for a temporary leave from the Riders, Bryttar went off to Minas Tirith to inform Rho and her mom of Ryomer’s murder. But once this message was delivered, the usually level headed Rohirrim left the White City and took to wandering the land for the next 19 months. Sending no word to anyone as to his whereabouts during this time. However, the peace he was seeking was not to be found in his wanderings, so eventually he returned to Minas Tirith and decided to further his education since both he and Rho had been taught how to read and write by Lawen (Rho’s mom) when they had grown up together in Rohan.

So it was while he was living here, and studying that he met and fell in love with a Gondorian woman, Nichela. But eventually Bryttar’s abandonment of his post with the Riders of the Mark came up, and the young woman’s father put a halt to their relationship, explaining to the 21 year old Rohirrim that his inability to keep his commitments made him unsuitable to be with his daughter. So with a broken heart, Bryttar headed back to Rohan and submitted himself to the authority of the King Theoden. After a probationary period, he eventually regained his position with the Riders again and continued to serve with them.

When Bryttar was 23, Eldred and Rydan contacted both him and Rholarowyn with the identity of the men who had murdered Aytan and Ryomer. And after getting a somewhat reluctant and clearly a temporary leave from the Riders, Bryttar, along with his two brothers, and cousin, sought out these two men, apprehended them, and then returned to Rohan to see justice done. Afterwards Bryttar continued to faithfully serve with the Riders of the Mark for close to two years following the War of the Ring. Lately he has become a bard and has just joined the Mithril Knight’s. He is currently going through his training with that guild.

Name:Aranel Sarlonde
Race: Hald elf/dwarf
Gender: Female
Age: 1,678
Height: Short, only around 5"2'
Build: Slender, small, but strong
Looks: Very fair in Countenance like all elves
Hair: red
Eyes: Dark blue, almost look black
Marital Status: Single...for now
Occupations: Exile...protects Fangron to the best of her abilites
Clothes: Black leggings, dk. red tunic, knee high dk.red travelling boots, long black traveling cloak with dwarfish runes on it as a border
Means of Travel: her feet unless she hitches a ride on her guardian, Treebeard
Weapons/Skills: small dwarfish axe, handmade wrist crossbow, and two elvish daggers
Bio: Aranel has no memory of her past, all she knows are the stories that are told to her by Treebeard and the things that have happened to her in what she sees as a lonely life.
Knwoing that she is half elvish and half dwarfish was somehting that was pretty obvious, all she knows about her supposed parents is that her Father was a marchwarden for Mrikwood who died in the battles that resulted in the Dead Marshes. Her mother was a dwarf from Moria. When she was first born, to hide their love, her father brought her to Fangorn and left her there, Aranel only assumed, to die. Which is, from Treebeard's stories, when Gandlaf the Grey found her and asked Treebeard to care for her. Gandlaf became a steady visitor in her life while she lived in Fangorn. Becasue of her orgins, Gandalf had given her her name which meant 'Star in a Stonehaven'.
Around the age of 50/60 (being blessed with the immortality of elves) Aranel wanted to know more about who she was so she set off towards the elvish cities. Her first stop was Mirkwood in which she was able to stay there for about three weeks until the inhabitants thereof found out she was half dwarfish and she was told to leave. Next was Lothorien, in wehich the same thing ahppened but instead of the inhabitants finding out it was Lady Gladriel who found out and told her to leave. Coming upon moria she decided to try the dwarves, who were nicer than the elves to her, they allwoed her to use the archives and such to try and find out where she came from to no avail. After a while she was also told to leave there. Because orcs had nto yet taken the mountain she traveled to Rivendell, which was the worst of her visits outside of Fangorn. Not three nights into her stay in Lord Elrond's house she was stolen from her bedroom in the middle of the night. Dragging her to the edge of the city these elves had a branding iron form an dOrc they had killed and branded an Orcish symbol on to her left arm, which she later finds out means something to the effect of being a servant to the dark Lord Sauron. Leaving her at the edge of the city they make sure they think she is no better than an orc because she is half dwarfish. Being shunned by the races of her origin, she starts her travles back ot Fangorn leaving behind all her posseions that she had taken with her in Rivendell.
Every few months she travels to Bree for a short visit and then it's back to Fangorn. Living there she has learned to speak Old Entish, a very slow language to learn. In her travels to Bree she befriends Strider (otherwise known as Aragorn) a ranger that will sometimes travel with her as far as the borders of Rivendell and then they seperate to go their own ways.
Aranel feels no loyalty to any one race inparticular besides the Ents.
She has a horrible temper when pushed past her limit but usually apologizes after her outbursts unless she is positive she's right. Very sarcastic, closes up when her past is brought up becuase she has no memory of her past. Can be trusting, depends on the person.

Current RPG:
Lost (coupled with Thorongil_Telecontar)
Songs of Our Memorys

Will be updated from time to time

Sorry everyone, this chara is being retired at the end of Songs of Our Memorys. But ur more than welcome to look at my other characters to see if you want any of them.

I'd love to join any RPG anyone wants me too, I present an interesting twist.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>I'm also a hopeless romantic so I also play good in couples.

NAME: Terelas

RACE: Man of Gondor

AGE: 26 years

LINEAGE: Distant descendant of Tarostar, the seventh king of Gondor, family line resulted from illicit union with woman of Rohan. Terelas sometimes dreams of one day ruling Gondor as Rómendacil III. Father was Bartamil, Ranger of Ithilien killed in skirmish with Easterlings, and mother was, Carcil, unwed woman of Gondor.

HEIGHT: 6’0

BUILD: Not particularly tall, lean and muscular

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Scar above his left eyebrow and across two fingers of his left hand over which he sometimes wears a worn leather glove

HAIR COLOR: Dirty blonde cut much shorter than most men, rarely seen as his head is often covered.

EYE COLOR: Deep hazel with flecks of amber

WEAPONS: Has accumulated many over his years in the wild. Still carries staff of Lebethron that belonged to his father, and the bow he has possessed since youth along with the seemingly always half-full quiver of arrows. Also carries a short sword, hunting knife he keeps in his boot and a broad sword of unknown origin he calls Amarth (Sindarin word for ‘Doom’)

DRESS: Dark breeches tucked into deerskin pair of boots, dark green or tan shirt over which he wears a heavy black hooded cloak in colder weather. Atop his head he often wears a highly peculiar thinly knit woolen hat, commonly worn by children on the outskirts of Firien Wood.

SKILLS: Skilled bowman and hunter, stronger with a short sword than with Amarth, but still a very skilled swordsman. Ability to befriend most animals – especially thrush, horse, dog, squirrel and fox. Reasonable comprehension and speaking level in Elvish assumed to be acquired from the learned people of his village. Acquired some medicinal healing skills from the woman who looked after him as a child, very self-reliant since a young age. Skilled builder and craftsmen as his wandering life demands it.

MARITAL STATUS: Single, no known female contacts

COMPANIONS: Halax, a dark bay stallion standing 16.2 hands with white snip and one white sock adopted by Terelas as a yearling. Not one of the Mearas, but prior to acquisition by Terelas, part of a band of horses rumored to have faint lineage in Felarof, the great horse of Eorl. Oril, red-coated hunting hound with numerous battle scars believed to have also been acquired outside Firien Wood of unknown age.

HISTORY: Born out of wedlock, Terelas, illegitamte child of Bartamil, Ranger of Ithilien, to avoid the humiliation of his mother, Carcil, was raised by the people of his mother’s village on the banks of the River Anduin. Named for the fourth beacon of Gondor, Terelas learned from the men of the village and became both a skilled bowman and swordsman. Having no permanent home, he was known even in his childhood as a wanderer and a loner for often spending days and nights outside the village on his own. He taught himself the ways of the wild, having always possessed a strong tie with nature and befriended most of the beasts of Anorien. In his eighteenth year, Terelas returned after an overnight on the plains with a leggy dark bay colt trailing behind him. Horsemanship was not a skill of the village and rumors quickly flew about his mysterious acquisition of the young horse, culminating in the accusation that Terelas had somehow stolen the colt from within the Rammas Echor. Taking great offense to the accusation, he left the village several days after and was never seen again on the banks of the Anduin. Knowing only the name of his biological father, Terelas set off from the small village where he was raised armed with a staff of Lebethron, a bow and half-full quiver of arrows, a short sword, a hunting knife and a yearling he named Halax. He waited several years before traveling to Minas Tirith in search of information about his father, Bartamil, fallen Ranger of Ithilien. First sent away from the city’s gates, Terelas brought forth the staff of Lebethron that he knew had been his fathers and was admitted into the annals to research his family history. Tracing the complicated history of houses and families, when Terelas learned of his family’s true history he promptly left the White City and can now be found wandering in and around the many foothills north and south of the White Mountains. He desires to one-day encounter the race of elves, but has never left the borders of Gondor.

CHARACTERISTICS: Boyish features complemented by his unusually short hair-length, Terelas can first give off an appearance of innocence and harmlessness. However, he is neither and can be very quick to anger if one isn’t careful. Other than Halax and Oril he has no other companion and has no known close friends. Upon first meeting one would assume Terelas’ people skills were lacking. However, he has been known to frequent several small villages in the foothills along the West Road and the borders of Rohan and those who encounter him whether at an inn, tavern or blacksmith find him a pleasant, if not very quiet and soft spoken young man. Most find his entourage somewhat peculiar as he is sometimes seen walking rather than riding Halax, who trails behind him along with Oril. To catch a glimpse of Terelas is a rare occurrence as he often keeps to the highlands and forests. A rider of Rohan would be unable to distinguish him as anything more than a dark blur of horse and rider if not for the white sock on Halax’s right rear leg. Terelas is extremely perceptive, resourceful, and intelligent despite his volatility at times, which is most likely inherited from his father. Like many, he is especially quick to anger after a few pints and consequently tends to avoid crowded taverns. Similarly poor treatment of Halax and denying Oril entrance into any buildings is seen as a personal insult. Although a sensitive young man, he is a fierce and valiant foe of both man and beast, rumored to have slain a wild boar with his bare hands. Often mistaken for a Ranger, Terelas’ ambiguity gives him a dangerous and mysterious air and most people know very little about him as he mostly keeps to himself and reveals little about his background. He lives everyday with the knowledge that he was a product of an accident and was not brought into this world on purpose. Despite his quiet behavior and ability to appear rather standoffish, those who are patient and able to generate conversation find him to be still very much a young man, learning about the ways of the world and most importantly of people.
